What time is it?
C’mon using a mic for Switch is very easy and intuitive.

the difference being that you have like a billion alternatives to that on those, while you still can't even use a mic on the Switch without connecting your headset directly to the damn console lol
which is still true after that update btw. since it specifically says no microphone support
- Bluetooth microphones cannot be used.
- You may experience audio latency depending on your Bluetooth device.
No they don't.Rip to those making fun of Nintendo for this while their favorite company still makes you connect the headphone to your controller
Everyone completely ignoring the fact none of the current consoles support Bluetooth audio I see. It's a tricky proposition with games as it can lag badly behind the on screen action. Even with aptx and the latest revision it's not perfect.
It's a problem with the Bluetooth design/codec and has slowly been improved. Nintendo are on the ball allowing this as the audio lag is something people can either tolerate or not.
Seriously, well done Nintendo for giving people choice, all the about time shit is arse backwards, they're the first.
The Switch also had bluetooth audio support via dongle from the get-go. And whether or not a device is portable does not change the nature of Bluetooth. It's fairly clear how much restriction the "simple" audio support puts on a portable console that relies on Bluetooth connectivity for so many of its primary functions.None of the other consoles are portable, and they’ve had multiple wireless options for ages…include Bluetooth audio - and microphone - support via dongle.
Nah. This won’t fly
Two channels for stereo audio. Drops number of pairable controllers from 8 to 2. Mic needs its own channel. So if you add a mic you either have to drop audio to mono, or lose wireless controllers altogether. No mic, what !
The Vita does though....The year when Playstation and Xbox still don't support this.
One of the reason Nintendo can't be taken serious anymore.C’mon using a mic for Switch is very easy and intuitive.
OK that's a valid excuse but that doesn't make the end result better : no micTwo channels for stereo audio. Drops number of pairable controllers from 8 to 2. Mic needs its own channel. So if you add a mic you either have to drop audio to mono, or lose wireless controllers altogether.
Valve is working on it don’t worryCan we get an UI resolution and input lag update too?
What the fuck does that have to do with the price of fish.
The Vita does though....
I have a PS4 and I had no idea this was true, mostly because I just connect directly to the controller. Still, this is hilarious. The year when Playstation and Xbox still don't support this.
What in the ever loving hell are you talking about? The real question is, Nintendo had the ability to have us use Bluetooth this whole time and just NOW allowed it? They are beyond incompetent.
While true it doesn't support native Bluetooth (Not sure reason why) it at least supported adapter based Bluetooth devices. Could you use Bluetooth on Switch ever???
Yes because it supports both Xbox Wireless and Bluetooth. After 4 years?
Is the Xbox wireless headset compatible?
Yeah but no one likes to play on unofficial potato shit like that.Yes it had Bluetooth support the whole time of course. You are able to map Bluetooth controllers if you install a different OS on the switch like Android etc so it had the functionality all the time.
One of the reasons I got a Steelseries 7X, to avoid this kind of mess...C’mon using a mic for Switch is very easy and intuitive.
Speak for yourselfYeah but no one likes to play on unofficial potato shit like that.
lmaoFucking hell Nintendo
Stereo audio is two channels, and it reduces the available bandwidth for gamepads from supporting 8 at once, to only 2. A mic needs its own channel, so either you have to drop the audio to mono, or do without wireless controllers. Some might be okay with the tradeoff, but a lot won't understand why things suddenly don't work. Even as-is there will be plenty of complaints that the audio stops working when you try to play local multiplayer. No microphone thou
Why, Nintendo? Why?
it definitely did not from the get-go, I believe the first to do it was Genki Audio over a year and a half after launch? The Switch also had bluetooth audio support via dongle from the get-go. And whether or not a device is portable does not change the nature of Bluetooth. Yes because it supports both Xbox Wireless and Bluetooth.
Call me a fanboy, when you don't need a fucking PHONE APP to talk to your friends.Lol, it's a technical problem. It's a problem with bluetooth thicko, fuck all to do with incompetency. Nintendo are the first of the big three to introduce it. What don't you understand.
I'm no Nintendo fanboy, have a beastly PC, PS5, Switch yadda yadda Bluetooth has issues providing synced audio with games, Nintendo have obviously found a good compromise or are bowing to giving people the option. Yes any of the big three could have done it a long time ago but they probably didn't want the headache of complaints, it's a good thing.
Fuck away with your fanboy shite.
Depends on how you define "dongle". 3.5mm wireless adapters already existed before the Switch, and had no reason not to work with the Switch.it definitely did not from the get-go, I believe the first to do it was Genki Audio over a year and a half after launch?
someone correct me if I'm wrong but I'm pretty sure on the Switch not having bluetooth audio support via dongle anywhere close to launch
I mean, you can see there is a lot of strong reactions in here about no mic support, Bluetooth audio lag and limiting paired controllers. So, can you blame them for simply not bothering with it until now? I mean, if nobody will satisfied, it's not worth to offer. You mean the hardware to do this was in there the whole time?
Bluetooth works great with my Bose QC 35 ii's. There's no lag, no cutting out and the volume level is good.
You can use this to check the sync:
The Xbox Wireless Headset supports both Bluetooth and Xbox Wireless. It's a pair of headphones.Xbox doesn't allow headphones over Bluetooth. Not even over USB so adapters won't work. So either use the headphone jack in the controller or buy an officially licensed Xbox headset.
