Goodbye, Chibi-Robo.
lol
Goodbye, Chibi-Robo.
Now I really hope that it fails. Skip should work on good games again and not on rather average platformers or puzzles featuring Chibi-Robo.
There seems to be a good supply for the bundle at least. It's still up for preorder everywhere. Likewise for the YWW bundle too. I don't think you'd have a whole lot of trouble finding it.Then again, I may have difficulty finding Zip-Lash thanks to the Amiibo Bundle. So at least the series has that going for it!
lolFuck Chibi-Robo bring back Custom Robo.
How do we know this?
Could Noise be working on something? Their last game came out in June 2013 for the 3DS. Not saying it would be Custom Robo, but...Fuck Chibi-Robo bring back Custom Robo.
They're not really similar at all beyond them both starring tiny characters. If anything, Nintendo is likely to retire Chibi due to its similarity with the less niche franchise, Pikmin.
Chibi Robo seemed the perfect fit to help the promote the 3DS's failed AR functionality, and perhaps they saw it as weak when it didn't perform. Meanwhile, Pikmin Shorts did astoundingly well for tiny videos you could just find on YouTube. Reverse the IPs. The Chibi Robo shorts would have tanked, and AR Pikmin would be adorable and probably a success.
Photo Finder's failure has nothing to do with the IP, it's the fact that it's an awful game. The AR aspect is horribly implemented and barely works half the time, and the rest of the game is filled with luck-based minigames and quizzes, tiny areas to "explore", and character subplots that get introduced but go nowhere. Meanwhile, the Pikmin shorts were simply funny and well animated. I don't see how this comparison works at all.

the gamecube custom robo was genuinely bad, I say this as a person who 100% completed it and still owns it.Fuck Chibi-Robo bring back Custom Robo.
I still stand by my statement that Pikmin and Chibi are too similar in Nintendo's eyes. Brand awareness is essential in selling a product. Chibi Robo won't sell games like Pikmin. If Nintendo had a choice in the future to use Pikmin or Chibi-Robo for a small-scaled game, who do you think they'll use?
His future depends on the success of a generic, low-budget looking platformer sold at full retail price?
Well, no. Not actually any (well, except budget, its obviously not high budget) of those things.

Full retail? The standalone game is 30 dollars. with the amiibo it's 40.
Well, they picked a shitty game to end the franchise with.
This please. Im not paying secondhand prices for the GC version.Give us NPC Chibi Robo on Wii U eShop before he dies!
I mean, let's be realistic. It's already pretty much literally a miracle that Chibi-Robo even got one follow-up, let alone four.
