No it won't; it'll be on newsstands by tomorrow.Kintaco said:I think it is about a "new" Nintendo game, or else why even use "Exclusive" on the title? anyway, it'll be out after E3 it seems so it will be non-news.
FoneBone said:Most college students on here can probably read it through the library's site -- it's on Lexis-Nexis. I'll post the whole thing if a mod gives me permission, but here's the excerpt that actually talks about the games:

This new Nintendo attitude that they keep spewing out is starting to become tiresome and damn near offputting. This holier-than-thou air of superiority that Nintendo is conveying with regards to the direction of the Wii is absurd, hypocritical and narrow-minded. It's so ridiculous that the path they themselves road along for 20+ years, they are now trying to convince us is all of a sudden archaic and detrimental to gaming on the whole, and the Wii, the only true bastion of innovation (because innovation in games should have more to do with the controller, not, you know, the actual games), is giving the consumer an experience Sony and Microsoft could never hope to achieve.Iwata said:"If you are simply listening to requests from the customer, you can satisfy their needs, but you can never surprise them. Sony and Microsoft make daily-necessity kinds of things. They have to listen to the needs of the customers and try to comply with their requests. That kind of approach has been deeply ingrained in their minds."
Peru said:So how about packing wario ware in with every Wii. Could introduce a few concepts, make them comfortable with the wiimote.

I know I'll probably get ragged on for this, but honestly, I find it insanely arrogant for Nintendo to near completely downplay 30 years of videogame innovation and evolution simply because they're deciding to use a different controller. It continually distracts me from just focusing on what they show next week, irregardless of the other guys, and hoping it turns out to look fun.
No... I can't remember who it was, but one of the main Nintendo reps (it was either Kaplan, Harrison, or Reggie) was quoted a few days ago as saying that it would "be playable on GameCube."Father_Brain said:Hmm... interesting article, but I guess Nintendo is still keeping a lid on the big surprises until Tuesday. I wonder if Twilight Princess actually has been switched to Wii.

Good job, good job.Rocked said:That quote wasn't actually said by Iwata. That was Time Magazine's bit.

MAGIC WAND: It looks like a remote, but Nintendo's new game controller senses a player's hand movement; PHOTO: FRED PROUSER--REUTERS
THE LEADER: Satoru Iwata started as a game designer and rose to become Nintendo's fiercely independent president; FOUR PHOTOS
ZELDA In the new installment, Twilight Princess, Link fights with sword, bow and boomerang. Aiming is a snap: just point at the enemy and fire away
RAYMAN With the full (and rather odd) name of Rayman Raving Rabbids, it will feature a skewed sense of humor and lots of bloodthirsty bunnies
RED STEEL Nintendo isn't known for violent game play. But in this yakuza-themed shooter, players will live (and die) by both gun and sword
TENNIS The graphics aren't much, but the game play is hilarious. The controller becomes your racket ; PHOTO: FRED PROUSER--REUTERS
THE LEGEND: Gaming's answer to Steven Spielberg, Shigeru Miyamoto scored with his first creation, the arcade classic Donkey Kong; PHOTO
NEW DOG, NEW TRICKS In Nintendogs, for the portable Nintendo DS, players train a virtual (but very cute) puppy. It's part of Nintendo's attempt to lure female gamers
He was refering to a different quote I think (about hardcore gamers or something), not the one I quoted above.mugwhump said:Good job, good job.![]()

Kevtones said:Tennis FUCKING SWEET although I have a feeling this may be one of those 'tech demos'
Yeah.. it might become a game. But if he played it now, and the "graphics ain't much", I'm betting it's one of a series of tech demos presented at e3, akin to DS tech demos. That is how every game is created though.. especially at Nintendo. The idea and mechanics come first.
That has absolutely nothing to do with my post. Good job.Fallofmart said:Seriously, you sound like a child who's jealous after a new born. Nintendo aren't just dealing with the hardcore anymore, deal with it. If you don't like it, stop complaining. The 360 and PS3 aren't going to dissapear into thin air when Wii is released! You still have 2 hardcore traditional consoles.
He's not talking about the name there. He's just saying that they want to make a splash with new experiences. People weren't clamoring for Brain Age, Nintendogs, 3D GTA, analog sticks, or touch screens until they saw or tried them.fortified_concept said:I'm not at my best but I swear this makes absolutely no sense to me. So let me get this straight. It's necessary not to listen to hardcore gamers all the time because they have to satisfy the casual customers too. Is that what he means? But (as far as the name is conserned) I've asked casual gamers and they find the name even more retarded and embarrassing than I do. WHAT THE HELL IS HE TALKING ABOUT?
