Pretty sure it isn't pop in but the world generating around you, so not sure if it can be fixed. I could be wrong though
But the other streamer only said he had the same ship so that must be the case for the whole game!
You can repair and use downed ships! I'm also thinking there are some base stat differences here
Edit: or maybe not, it could just be that the new ship had better tech pre installed. I think it had double shielding off the bat. I really want to experiment with these stats

It's the nature of the procedural generation. There will always be some form because the game generates the land around you and loads more details as you get closer

Has there been anything showing ringed planets or systems with binary stars this far? I haven't been keeping up to date.
Yep, I was super keen from the first trailer, but this looks to scratch an itch for me that hasn't been scratched since those Mass Effect Mako missions that everyone but me hated.

We know since 2014 that you can't upgrade your ship but have instead to change it.
But nope, everybody follow our leaker saying "I don't think you can update your ship".
There was a promo screenshot with a ringed planet and in an interview Sean said yes to binary stars (and black holes).
EDIT: it was linked in one of our threads here on GAF, can't find the link. Reference for black holes and such is the famous 40 or so questions to Sean video (apologies if I'm not remembering it right).

STARSHIP is an inventory menu, so you can flip to it anytime it looks like to check on what you need.

I have to say the waypoints and such are probably needed. Or else you're traveling around a literally planet-sized haystack looking for needles.

Which is a shame IMO, are there seriously no barren planets now? In fact it was suppose to be the other way around, with life being rare.

Pretty cool how this is basically a 'quest' but where in another game an NPC would give it to you, this dude just found a crashed ship and has decided to search for the necessary materials to repair and use it
He should be able to fly his new ship around the planet now.

Well,after coming home from vacation I can finally watch a leaked stream and not just go by what I hear from the first guy.
And so far, this looks like what I expected out of the game (and I've been excited for the game).
Long as it doesn't get so easy I don't even need to mine anything or craft anything or upgrade stuff (basically as long as I can keep having goals of needing to get better stuff and needing to find resources to keep going), I think I'm going to be so addicted to this game.
(it's why I like survival mode in Fallout. I love having stuff to craft that I have to go work and find to get the materials to craft stuff. And exploration. This game is going to be something I think I can keep playing for a long time).

Absolutely! I love that, what has surprised me so far tbh is the sound on the planets, they sound amazing atmospherically. I do hope we manage to find some planets that are completely barren, I hope Hello Games aren't afraid of letting the player go to planets with nothing on them except resources. I want to be the only thing on a planet sometimes making my way around with only the sound of the environment.
I also think I'll be able to show this to my little nephew as well. I think he'll really dig it.
Was always my expectation, but originally I assumed it was to give players a chance to reach center before reviewers. But now I believe it is for other reasons.Just read the thread about the game not having pre-release review copies.

Since star systems should work as real ones, having goldilock's zones and such, maybe we can actively look for planets where life isn't sustainable.
