No Man's Sky Spoiler Thread

Still holding out hope that there's a planet out there with Pencil shaped animals, right down to eraserheads.

Have been staying well clear of the drama that this game has stirred up over the last few days but I'm watching this current stream and the game seems to be everything I wanted and expected. The crashed ship he was able to repair and take for himself just sealed the deal.

So I've watched a couple of the videos and I noticed there isn't much AI traffic like in the trailers.

I wonder if this and some other thing are being held back til the day one patch.

What I've seen is awesome though. I wish it released this week.

I can't believe I clicked less than a minute ago and he just called it a night lol.

Anyway, I haven't watched much so I was wondering if different planets have different gravity/atmosphere and it affects your movement?

I am not seeing anything in this stream that makes me want to play this game. :(

There are other games coming out soon, play one that interests you. Recommend it to the other people complaining that they just can't be bothered with NMS as well.

The only thing that makes me sad about what we've seen so far is the sense of personal peril and danger seems to be largely missing. That's something I was really hoping would shine through in this game, and it seems to have all but vanished.

Needs more stuff like this IMO...

I've added breaks like this for a little relief throughout the list...

Nothing is "held back" by the day one patch. They put a game on disc that is supposed to be the game experience, since there are lots of people with offline PS4s that can't get patches.

The lack of space traffic might be due to the players being at the edge of the galaxy, or that they've been unlucky, or that it's been tweaked down due to performance issues.

1:24:45 for the discovery of the crashed ship you guys! Going to make some webms of it and then off with me in this thread. I've seen enough!

That was really good. I think it is indeed pretty true that "90% of planets are barren," with the only caveat being that "barren" =/= lifeless. Pretty much everywhere Kengi went was barren - as in mostly desert, shitty weather, and generally not a very pleasant place to be.

Sky color was fairly homogeneous across the board but I wonder if that varies with the systems' suns?

I haven't done it for a few years - since the controllers got better.

My girlfriend has done it quite a few times playing 7 Days to Die, though. And stamina management is important in that game so it's led to a few deaths.

Either way, it completely avoids any ambiguity. It's a solid design decision imo.
The right stick is what you use to control the camera, if anything, there's more risk of accidentally pressing that in as opposed to the stick used for movement.

I can just tell inventory management is gonna suck the fun out of my experience, I really do loathe that in video games. What stinks is that I have the LE preordered and for the most part from what I saw in the streams this game looks really cool. Inventory management tho......

That's what I thought. Unfortunately there have been a few games that were broken with out that patch.

I was just curious if anyone thought some of the systems were broken/incomplete pretty patch.

I'm going to try and watch some of the next stream that's up. I can't wait to get to play this!

There are definitely things that are bugged and broken, but that's all a patch is gonna do. Fix bugs. There is nothing in the game shown at streams that is "held back" in anticipation of the Day 1 patch.

I am not seeing anything in this stream that makes me want to play this game. :(

Watching people play is not exciting at all, doesn't make me want to play the games. However, playing a game hands on is a totally different story then just watching someone.

Most of the time it's because I wouldn't play that way so I don't enjoy the stream.

It should vary based on the planet's atmosphere (and distance/position relative to its sun maybe?).

We've seen what, yellow and red skies?

Most of them from Kangi were that kind of dusty yellow-green color, up to maybe a greenish teal. But then again he only landed on what? 4 - 6 planets or something?

I agree. It would make sense for it to be more barren further out. I admit "held back" was the wrong way to term to use. The thought just kinda popped up in my head when the last streamer went to the spacestation and it was empty.
