When you exploit the game and rush through it, and do not make a concerted effort to actually explore beyond the bare minimum, then you deserve to have a hollow experience. There is no guarantee that you'll see anything, and that in itself should be more than enough incentive to go explore. Most of what daymeeuhn said has been proven false, simply because he did not take the time to actually try things that are in the game or go find the variances that this game possesses.

Not quite. Mostly, he just didn't happen to see certain things, and people put too much weight on his observations.
Yeah, there are, for all intents and purposes, an infinite amount of variation in planets, or rather people are going to see wildly different things, even with hundreds of thousands of people playing, they'll all have unique experiences.

Ship upgrades, weapon upgrades, general wrongness of the variety of different species, etc.
The dude rushed through the game and missed/ straight up didnt understand a lot of the mechanics.

I like the implications of this if you haven't learned certain words.
What? I don't think that is wasted at all, you don't know how old those structures are. They could be eons old and natural erosion and sea level rising could have caused this.

No, there will be no new seed. That would defeat the entire purpose of them having worked with the one they have, including their crazy probes they built to look over the planets and make sure they weren't garbage.

it'd be one thing if they were just underwater ruins, but the limitations clearly aren't intentional - he found an NPC in an underwater base he couldn't interact with, he could summon his ship, get in, but not take off....

Agreed. Not sure why he is slamming the first guy who played. He got unlucky and visited a bunch of rather blah planets.
Some players may see really cool planets, while others have a rather boring journey to the center.
Because Daymeeuhn was slamming the game for having a ton of missing features, upgrades not working, no crazy creatures or terrain etc. So this guy is proving him wrong.

It looks like there isn't even a button assigned to "Scan" while flying on a spaceship, so I'd say there's no planetary scan.
