No Man's Sky Spoiler Thread

I'm pretty sure upgrades only work when adjacent to their core tech. You can see for his blaster upgrade on his ship, it's highlighted because it's adjacent, the other ones are not. Which might explain why the other leaker never got upgrades to work

Okay yeah no after watching the current stream and doing some reading, this is mostly rubbish. We now have two (three?) independent sources with the game that confirm a lot of the stuff the reddit leak talked about.

Also watching the current stream, gotta say - the planets look great with the sort of minimalist art direction but man the procedural animation for the creatures is just bad.

Did the first leaker just totally misunderstand naming? He said you had to go to an Atlas station or something to upload your discoveries, I seem to recall?

So I think I understand a few things from that stream.

1. Weapons/tools at least have their own base stats, visible as little circles with icons, with borders that fill. My gut tells me those are base stats.

2. The layout of weapons and gear are VERY important, not just the amount of space because...

3. Upgrades need to be next to their core technology. When upgrades are inserted away from the core tech, their border is grey. When put in next to core tech, their border is highlighted red alongside the core tech. You can't move your core tech, so you find new ships/guns/outfits to give you better layouts so that you can surround your tech with your ideal upgrades.

4. This doesn't seem to be noticed by either of the streamers, which explains their confusion on upgrades not working.

Well that makes sense.

As always, watching other (seemingly always less observant) people play videogames like this just makes me want to die.
