It's beatiful

I feel like I've been playing this game for a week now and it's never even been installed on my PC.

I should bury my head in the sand for the next few days so the game feels "fresh" when I actually DO play it.

Thank goodness they have a big Update for the game ready at least. Hope that shakes things up a bit.

you should tons of hype killers from keeping it fresh for yourself but i know the feeling of a game really anticipated hard to stay away from spoiler threads lol

Usually spoiler threads don't kill the hype for me, they ramp it up even more.

But now I feel like I've actually played the game myself and I'm almost burned out on just watching the streams lol.

Just because it hasn't shown up in a stream doesnt mean it's not in the game

And it doesnt work like that anyway. They can't just remove an individual creature, the devs probably never found that creature ever again

so how does that stuff work? for example are there some creatures that would be considered rare? like in their engine on any given world would their be say a 95% chance of having some type of grass grazing four legged creature, but only 1% chance of having a huge serpentine dragon type creature? or is it all completely random?

one of the things that excites me about this game is every screenshot I see is so varied. almost looks like a different game many times.... no one sort of "look" to each area or planet which is very cool.

If this is 100% confirmed then I am happy. That and if it is actually shaped like a galaxy and we are moving towards a true "center".

That first streamer had strange thinking as to why he was convinced there was no "center", but instead an "end" to a path with nothing beyond. I think it was all because things didn't get more "cluttered" or "densely populated" near the "center". That made him convinced that it would not be more likely to encounter other players near the center because things weren't more cluttered/dense. Well... yes it still does because closer to center would mean more players gathering up in the same area... it's not about density of planets, it is about density of players.

Anyways... we shall see!

Well, whatever the case there could still be more players towards the centre as, contrary to what he initially thought, the planets have more stuff on them. It's why he backed out of the second galaxy and went back to exploring the centre of the first. So people could just hang around there more.

There are definitely more common body plans. The really big or bizarre stuff is rare.

BTW if savegames exist.. Wouldn't it be easy to just backup a save, send it to your friends and let them load it up as early as possible so you all are on the same planet?

I've been thinking about that. What is the point of moving on to the 2nd galaxy at all? If the first one is so large, it should BE the game, and allow everyone to work for a very long time to explore it at length. Jumping to a 2nd Galaxy feels to defeat the purpose of the game... ESPECIALLY if that 2nd galaxy is not a shared seed with everyone... it if it somehow more interesting and extreme galaxy, then bring it on, and I can see people choosing to settle into that one or even the next if that pattern continues. But why leave one galaxy if it will likely never be fully explored anyways... unless it is intentionally too easy and boring compared to the one that follows.

I'm positive the next galaxy can be significantly different. One of the spoiler screenshots i saw mentions the lore of the game, and basically without being too spoilery you see dialogue like this. "galaxies are based off a bunch of different factors, the smallest changes in the galaxy making algorithm has far reaching effects"

And you can respond differently to this depending on in game achievements you've reached. I'm assuming it's based on if you've traveled enough/seen enough from the language used. This might be the mechanic that prevents you from just rushing to the center - if you rush, maybe the next galaxy is basically the same as the previous one, if you don't, maybe you actually have the opportunity to change the algorithm yourself - maybe just a small tweak, but a small tweak can go a looong way in this game.

Rinse and repeat, and 10 galaxies in shit might get insane.

Interesting. That's how I'm seeing it too but I didn't know about that dialogue. Does that suggest the following galaxies are unique to you or perhaps that you can change the next galaxy for everyone? I just want to get my hands on this game because right now I can't stop watching people playing it.

Well this is the spoiler thread:

It looks like you have options, and maybe the next galaxy can be created without your hand making any changes. If that happens, I imagine that everyone who chooses that option would have the same next seed.

Im obsessed with the ship saberjudo found. That's one thing I can't wait to do; find awesome crashed ships and go out and find the materials to repair it.

oh my god screen above me, please please at least put it under spoiler, it's a major spoiler if it's what i intended.

btw, look at this planet

That is one snappy menu. I really dig it.

Edit- that looked like a giant slime like creature. He just zips right by it and takes off.

Christ almighty this current streamer is boring. Been on the same colorless desert planet for like 2 hours, just keeps getting in his ship, flying 30 feet, landing, then repeating. I want to grab that damn controller and GTFO this crappy dump of a planet.

He's making warp fuel, he should be leaving soon

I hear this is how NMS is supposed to be played tho ;b

Looking at the protection stat, there are four bars. I imagine one for heat, cold, radioactivity and toxicity. I'm guessing having mods that increase these stats improves your passive ability to survive on planets, meaning fewer 'recharge your shit' messages.

2 hours on one planet and hasn't even scratched how much land there'd be to cover. Crazy.

Are the Vy'Keen another NPC race? Haven't seen a picture of one of them yet..

I thought his warp drive or something on his ship was seriously damaged and he hasn't been able to repair it yet?

That's the problem with watching people play this game, I have no doubt I will be on a planet as long as he is. It's just more boring watching someone else do it vs me playing it. It's like watching pokemon vs playing it.
