No one cares about Depth?

So the game came out on November 3rd, but I only heard about it now when I saw IGN's review (7.7) on my facebook feed. This usually never happens since I'm on GAF, I only found one thread about the game which didn't even reach page 2.

So why the lack of interest? Because it's PC only? I would love to hear some impressions from people on here.

Here is a short write up of what the game is about from GiantBomb:

In Depth, the players can choose to play for either the shark team or the divers. While the divers will have to discover and recover a treasure or an artefact (hidden in a wreck or similarly hard to access) and return it to their base, the sharks will do everything in their power to prevent from doing just the same. The teams will have different classes / types and the two teams also sport profoundly different ways of playing the game. The sharks for example can pick up sounds and vibrations in the water from a long distance away but suffer from poor eyesight. The game relies on action sequences just as much as on the strategic and efficient use of stealth.

If I remember correctly, this was created by the original development team of Killing Floor, who invented that as a student project at University.

I watched Jim Sterling's video on it (Can't link since I'm at work), and now I have to get it. It looks great.

It is really good and unique and I'm having a lot of fun. The devs are really present on the forums and the roadmap for 2014 is looking good. It also has a healthy online community so don't hesitate if you like the concept of the game.

It's all about resolution and framerates now. No one actually plays games anymore.

(Thanks for the heads up, OP. Gonna pick this one up.)

It looks fun and apparently the bots are really damn good but I tend to stay away from mp only games.

If I buy this one in the future it'll be just because it has bot support.

Also the premise is terrifying and awesome at the same time.

Pretty much.

Much like Chivalry, Killing Floor, and other multiplayer, obscure, indie games, purchases are going to have to spread through shear word of mouth. Sometimes these things take a little while to ramp up.

welp I never heard about these games either, I'm not a big fan of indie games though, but I wanna try this game, I never played as a shark in anything, is there even another game that lets you play as a shark?

There's Jaws Unleahed on the PS2. The game is terrible though.

Just watched the trailer, it looks pretty good but i'll wait for a steam sale.

I've been keeping my eye on it, wondering if it will get a console release in the vein of Chivalry and Primeal Carnage. It looks really interesting I do enjoy these MP action games with a twist from the usual red vs blue with guns.

It looks great but I just don't have the time to commit to another MP game (Chivalry, Payday and Killing Floor) for now :(

I pre-ordered it thinking I would be playing it with my sister since she loves sharks, but she hasn't gotten it yet. I'm just going to start playing without her because it does look like a lot of fun.

I picked this up yesterday and I'm in love with it. While playing a shark is a lot of fun, playing as a diver is amazing with how tense it can become. How this game isn't more popular is a bit surprising to me.

I wanted it to go around $10 during Steam Sale. I saw some LP's around launch and was super intrigued.

It's basically Aliens vs. Predator but with divers and sharks.

For the price they need more game modes, more options - just more content in general.

Depth has been fun to play but your AVP comment gave me a great idea. I loved Team Survival in AVP2 and it would be perfect for sharks.

Start the round with 31 humans and 1 shark. Every time a human dies, it becomes a shark. If the humans can hold on for 5 minutes, they win.

So it's been a while and they released a ton of content (new sharks) and updates.

Got this originally to shorten to time until Evolve arrived and I still have blast with it.
Shame it get's that little attention...

I've been so close to installing it many, many times and then I remember that people who play asymmetric MP are assholes who complain about balance 90% of the time and none of my friends have this.

What does that even mean? Does the knowledge that less than 100 people made the game ruin it for you?

I never really liked low budget games sorry, it's just not exciting to me next to polished AAA titles with great graphics. Most I've tried were 2d though, I don't like 2d, except DKCTF.

I still wanna play this one.

I think it's overpriced.

That is, I'm not a fan of the Depth charge.

Actually somewhat curious, but there's no way I'm going to be able to resist a pun like that

Ya love that game had a free weekend recently. Divers feel kinda survival horrorish as you can have a hard time telling were the sharks come from and depending on the level it can be really dark.

They also did an update recently that added 2 sharks and a bunch of stuff for the divers like coatings for bullets/spears.

They have a game mode called megalodon that is pretty much like juggernaut everyone but one person are divers the one other player is a megalodon the person who kills the shark becomes it.

Finally got this (4pack actually).

Why are skins so much? There was something about an update with unlockable skins. Are there unlockable or are they only paid?
