No one playing Phoenix Wright 3?

I've just turned off my DS after the credits. God this last case was such pure genius, in every way I can't believe it.
The feeling of a good book and the emotions of a good movie, in one video game. So sad, so beautiful, so clever. I have no words :|

It's kinda harsh to say goodbye to all these characters, by the way. I love them (maybe even larry butz!) and I'm sad to leave them with no opportunity to see them again (I don't know about GS4 except for Phoenix).

Well, the conclusion was really a success, never hoped so much. I don't believe GS4 will reach this level, of course, but I'll wait feverlishly until it comes out :D

You are right in that GS4 does not reach anywhere near the level of GS3, but it is nonetheless still a very good game with excellent story.

I really hope the script has a better editor this time... PW2 was terrible.

They used "gleam" for "glean" and other horrible not-even-synonym-mistake "typos". It was so bad, that I was expecting to see a their/they're/there infraction. :(

I forgot about phoenix wright for like 5 months, and then I realized the third one is coming out in a few weeks, so I'm frantically trying to finish it in time for the next, only on the first chapter :lol

Its still pretty rough unfortunately....

Hate to be the bearer of bad news, but if anything, it's worse.

How long does it take play-asia to ship to the USA with their cheapass shipping option? My order was mailed out last Monday and still no Phoenix Wright 3 here...

The typos are rather plentiful, which is pretty inexcusable ("going to be make". They even ended "What do you mean" with an exclamation mark instead of a question mark, which was rather surprising), but the gameplay is fucking great. This is easily the best GS so far. Fantastic OST as well.

GO GET THE US VERSION WHEN IT COMES OUT!

Ugggggh.

CAPCOM HIRE A FUCKING EDITOR. SPELLCHECK IS NOT YOUR FRIEND.

The US version shouldn't have these problems according to a mod on the capcom forums.

Har. If it does, I should send them a screencap of each and every infraction and offer my proofreading services. :P

Well, based on the previous PW games, everytime a new SKU comes out (JPN, NSTC U/C, PAL), the translation gets cleaned up a bit more.

So if you want the best product, wait for the PAL version. :lol

I always use the cheapest shipping and it always takes EXACTLY 7 days for my order to arrive, but thats to New Zealand tho, so not sure of any relevance :p

As for the translation, yes there are typos, but why people are so fussed I dont understand, the game is still awesome

so i gulped down the entire game already, game felt definitely easier than the first 2 phoenix wright, the cases that provided backstory about the character were cool
young edgeworth yay!
case 2 had an interessing premise and funny character though there were some obscure point
for example when you have to show that luke is the one being blackmailed, so you have to show the paper piece because the gem there is blue so it can't be the same gem,why all these complication when it's so incredibly obvious that it refer to the red gem on luke hand
so i guess the weakest link of the game would be case 3... i'm also kinda pissed about the fact
that there is no final proof to show but just an obvious slip-up from the killer... i hope that the system from phoenix wright 4 will improve this point
last case was definitely the best one but i think there is a huge plothole
why didn't mystic misty restrained herself before summoning dahlia? it doesn't make sense
regarding spellcheck error... there was an instance where the judge said "aboot" but he keep saying it trough the entire trial,i can't understand if the translator made the same mistake so many times or if it was made intentionaly just to make the judge sound more stupid

I'm waiting for the NA release. I'm likely not going to play it until after Xmas anyway, and at least a few of us have to make the sacrifice to make sure Capcom keeps releasing them here. I can easily make that sacrifice, so I do.

Same here, you heartless bastards who aren't supporting Capcom USA can burn in hell and you all hate Pheonix and want Pearls to cry and get punched in the face I HATE YOU ALL!

lol

i meaned mystic misty

Well
Dahlia would have understand she was not in Pearl's body and then vanished until Pearl succesfully channels her, I believe. There was no other way to protect Maya (and Pearl, by the way). Misty was clearly aware of that, the whole plan with the staff and Godot's mission clearly prove it. She tried to prevent Pearl to go to the inner temple by inviting her in her room (and so, the plan was unnecessary)but the kid never showed herself, there was no other solution, since Misty knew Pearl would call Dahlia until she succeed.

To me it was a logical choice, the only one, by the way.

I just finished it. This series is (was) truly fantastic. I'm pretty sad they decided to leave this cast, though seeing how the last case in this game ties pretty much everything together it's pretty understandable.
This series also has one of the best soundtracks ever. I like how
the investigation theme from PW1 plays when you expose Godot's guilt
.

Leaves you wanting more :[

Also:

ARE..
YOU..
High! The girl... She's really high up in this picture!

That's the "Canadian accent" version of about. He also says "eh" a lot and calls people "hosers". Basically, he's a stereotypical Canadian.

Anyway, yeah... There's a good number of typos. That along with all the references makes it obvious that, like the second game, this was translated by someone "from the internet". Lots of the kinds of stupid mistakes you see people make constantly online.

Well really glad you guys recommended this series to me.

I picked up PW1 last week (bloody expensive at EB though, 39.99 CAD). I just got to the 5th case and I'm absolutely loving it. Case 4 was awesome. I bought PW2 for a measly $18.50 CAD ($25 - $1.50 pm discount - $5.00 BB coupon), so I'll be playing that right after.

Funny thing is, this game has completely pulled me away from Bioshock (which I'm not fapping over like everyone else).

The first case was way longer than the last two it seems. Feels to me like there's more errors in the translation, but the dialog is still funny and charming.

"The P doesn't stand for Phoenix" :D

Bad pop-culture references "Guess we know who's milkshake brings all the boys to the yard"

and even though there's lots of type-o's, at least they spelled hemorrhoids right :)

I laughed so hard last night playing this, I had to take pictures...

There was still some shitty mistakes in the first game's french traduction. I mean, my young brother could notice them, and he was 10 years old.

Anyway, the 3rd case's last trial is full of awesome win, from the first testimony to the last blow.

Just finished the 4th case, and even though you knew, in some way that
Dahlia wouldn't get caught in the end
, I thought it would just be a
forced game over of some kind
.

But that. That, was totally unexpected. I'm totally like this >>> O_O. Awesome.

Going for the fifth one. Can't wait to see
how the two cases are related, and hopefully how Armando became Godot
.

Oh yeah, I really wondered where it came out from. I was like WTF every time he mentionned that :D

Also, Case 3 spoiler :
I guess the 300 jokes are really not over yet...
Case 3 spoiler

Same here, I was just expecting the same thing until the end. This game is god in a cartridge v_v

Well actually you can figure it out already, if you paid attention :o (that's why this game is (again) made of so much awesomeness)

Finished up the 2nd case today, not playing as much as I'd like to as I'm trying to finish up an online course, but my god this game is awesome. Watched the intro to the 3rd case, love how they always think of new and random twists, can't wait to get through it.

Did the fifth case a couple hours ago.

Really could've used a bit more resolution and 'celebration' and whatnot. It's the end of the Phoenix Wright Trilogy, after all.

I just finished the second case a little while ago, which was pretty effin' brilliant. Now I'm heading off into the third case.

I'm hoping some of the previous prosecutor cast returns in some form later on in the game. I haven't read any spoilers of the next cases, so I wouldn't know.

I beat the game after 3 days because I was so incredibly addicted to it.

Huge props for Capcom because this is the first Phoenix Wright game that had 5 amazing cases with no crappy ones.

*ahem* spoilers abound, and I am not abusing it. Read at your own risk.

Case 2 -
It was quite amazing to find out that Ron Delite was mask De Masque, the game was incredibly inventive in how they used "double jeopardy"

Case 3 -
Case 3 was one of my personal favorites because it was a huge mystery until the end and Viola is one of the best Phoenix Wright characters ever to grace a game

Case 4 -
Case 4 was amazing just because you know who the villain is and how twisted she is. It is a pity because the ending of the case was so tragic when your defendant takes the poison and commits suicide at the end of the case. If I was Mia I would not take any new case again for a long time

Case 5
Case 5 is not as intense as Case 4 in Justice for All, but is makes up for it in pure awesomeness. The plot twist of finding out that Dahlia and Iris are Pearls big sisters, that Godot was the true killer (no godot, why?) and that Iris was actually Phoenix's girlfriend for 6 months left me wide eyed and shocked. The game was fanservice galore because it sported Edgeworth as a defense attorney, the return of Franziska Von Karma, and the fact that they HELP you in the second day of investigation was amazing. I will also go on the record to say that Iris is easily the cutest of all the Phoenix Wright characters EVER. They have a very high bar to beat in the next trilogy.

Godot -
In all honesty, he is my favorite prosecutor. He is made of win all over. He genuinely hates wright, has the best goddamn quotes I have seen ever in a videogame, and doesn't have an absurd frilly outfit like Franziska, Edgeworth, and Manfred.

OMG Just finished it. BEST GAME IN THE
WHOLE HISTORY OF GAMING, IT'S NOT EVEN LIMITED TO THE
PHOENIX WRIGHT SERIES (confrimed).

The whole ending is awwwwwwesome. Even to the last sentences it's fucking aaawwwwesome.

A lot of people said it felt like a good movie ending, with emotions, group hug and all. That may sound cliché, but that's exactly how I felt.

It's not like "okay, another PW game ends, see you next time !". It totally feels like "Okay guys, it's the end of a whole game trilogy, say goodbye to all these characters you'll never see again !". Everything comes together.

As the guy above me just said, it's also the first PW game were every case is full of awesomeness. The awesomeness is bigger as you get to the end, but the lowest level of awesomeness you'll see in this game is at least as much awesomeness as in "last case awesomeness in any other PW game". Awesomenessly it feels like every case is a last case due to the permanent awesomeness, but it's never the last case, until it is, of course. Awesomeness.

Did I say awesomeness yet?

Awesomeness. You NEED this game.

What did I say ? You NEED to play the first two games in order to be able to play this one.

What's more ? Everything in this post is like straight out of my head.

I'll just emphazize the "best quotes ever in a videogame" statement for Godot. I googled one of them, and you know what, he quotes Sherlock Holmes.

Awesomeness, I tell ya.

I agree, the game ranks high on one of the "greatest games ever made"

It was absolutely amazing form start to finish.

One of my favourite series ever!

I do have to disagree on some of the cases though. I just felt they were way over the top, even for a PW game, and the last case had too many twists.

I did like how you think the second case, and then it hits you.

I felt the first 4 cases had a better conclusions you can draw, but the the last case seemed to border on the absurd.

Still, I can't wait for the next AA game!

Waiting for the US release, I like supporting Capcom USA so they know they have PW fans here and they can bring out PW4.

Jirotrom said:
how is PW2? Is it worth the buy also do the stories connect, because if they do I'll just go ahead and buy PW2.

Its so-so compared to the original, only the last case really stands out. And, yes, the stories connect.

Only halfway through the second case. It's so awesome!

First I thought I thought that case would be very predictable. The moment I saw that "ace detective" I knew he had to be the thief. But if you prove it that way, everything changes. I can´t wait to see how it will continue. DeLite looks very suspicious now.

Just reached the midpoint (or at least turning point) of Case 2, and already GS3 seems to be more solid than GS2. The first case was a pretty brilliant way to work the tutorial back into things, since
contriving a reason to have to explain the basics to Phoenix again would be dumb. Also, I love that the box on the touch-screen switches to Mia's profile for that case.
My favorite pop culture reference so far is the
"I followed Bennifer all the way to Tibet, where I met the infamous Katty Tom."
one, largely because it's so randomly pointless.

I do kind of want to preorder the US release for the plush Phoenix; if they really plan to clean up the typos, it might be worth it.
