THANK YOU, THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!!!

I came here just for this! :D :D :D :D

BTW I didn't see anyone mentioning in Case 4 that
Edgeworth is imitating Alfred von Karma's gestures
... it was so fucking COOL!!!

Does anyone know if there's a gif or something?

Don't you mean
Manfred von Karma
?

I was here earlier. I'm unfortunately moving slowly with this game but gathering speed. Just finished Case 3 last night, starting 4 tonight. I must take back some of my old statements, this game is definitely better than the original and certainly better than JFA. However, unless the last 2 cases change my mind (definitely possible), there's no better court moments than the rapid back-and-forth "OBJECTION! - OBJECTION!" over and over between Phoenix and Edgeworth in the original. The characters made that but so did the music, which doesn't live up in this game. I know I bitch about the music a lot but seriously.

Keep playing. That is all.

Maybe it was already discussed, but in the end of case 3:
We nail Tigre with the poison bottle. Phoenix says that there's no chance he knew what the bottle looked like without being the killer himself... but if Tigre was Xin Eohp(lol) in the phony trial, he could have seen the bottle in the court record, as it was submitted as evidence from the beginning, right?
Or the bottle was submitted only in the second trial?

No, see:

If he was present at the trial as Xin Eohp and saw what the bottle looked like there, it proves Wright's theory about the paper badge.

Tigre had to prove he was totally unconnected to the case at hand. He blew it.

Hey, I'm waiting for the English version, but since I don't really have time to replay PW and PW2, is there anywhere with a nice summary, case-by-case, of the plotline from both games? I feel like I need to review all the "incidents" from the first game, and I'd really like to go into PW3 with a firm grasp on what's going on.

I played through PWAA before getting JfA, and PWAA/JfA before getting TaT.

Don't be a punk!

No, the bottle wasn't submitted in the last trial. Phoenix found it in the kitchen during his investigation and then gave it to Gumshoe almost immediately after.

I took my sweet time with PWAA.

Then I realized that I had one day left to play PWAAJFA before I got PWTnT.

I blitzed through the Cross Examinations like you wouldn't believe.

He was talking about
the brown posion bottle, not the green ontolarynological clinic bottle
.

Court Records has a very detailed case discription section. That site is pretty much a one stop shop for any Ace Attorney related info/media.

Check out the American site, they updated it with wallpapers and stuff.

The first one is one I remember seeing in the official artbook, which is really nice. The best one is Godot's profile that is in the background, which is fitting because he is the best prosecutor...ever in the series.

I finished PW3 two days ago and thoroughly enjoyed it. I really enjoyed the characters in particular, as well as the final case.
However, I remain very unimpressed with Godot as an actual lawyer. I loved Franziska far more.

Boo, I guess I am the only one who loved Godot the prosecutor. He has a better back story, and his motivations are more "human" than Franziska.

I will say it, AA3 has THE best cast in the series. The new characters are very likable and very awesome.

Franziska was a 2-trick pony in PW2.

1)Whip

2)Foolishly foolish fool, etc

GS3 spoilers:

She's much better in GS3 - especially off the prosecutor's bench. Also, she gets the single best putdown in the entire series.

Just hit the second day of Trial in Case 5.

Absolutely amazing. There's no other way to describe it. If GS4 is even a fourth as good as this, I'll be thrilled.

Ill play this once it actually comes out in English. When was that supposed to be again? I recall sometime in September.

Speaking of GS3 spoilers

Edgeworth is much better as a defense attorney in GS3, After playing as him I really wanted to have someone as cool and collected as a defense attorney. Even when he fails he does it in style

QFT, if the next game has half as many great moments as GS3 then I will like it.

You also can't beat the 3rd games amazing cast.

Edgeworth was fanservice. Of course they were going to show him as doing things with style. In GS1 and 2 he got flustered pretty easily when things weren't going his way, you know. That said, playing as him was enjoyable, but the part I enjoyed most was his interaction with Gumshoe during the Investigation - paralleled later by my enjoyment of having Franziska tag along with Phoenix.

Well, you could argue that case 5 is pure fanservice in an of itself. A perfect ending to a great trilogy.

-You got to see Maya with her hair down (gasp, she actually looks pretty)
-It connects pearl with her two big sisters
-You get to play as edgeworth
-Gumshoe tags along as Edgeworth's Maya
-Franziska tags along and helps in case 5
-Pearl actually finds out about her big sisters in the courtroom, too bad the game doesn't have a feature to see how she reacts to the whole thing
-Godot and Franziska have some of the best lines ever put in a game during case 5

Hence why Case 5 is pure fanservice, and is the best case in the series.

I also tought that Godot was the best prosecutor. Sad backtory and even sadder ending. Edgeworth was to tame for my liking and Von Karma's design just didn't click with me. Franciska was okay. The whipping parts were funny but i disliked her repeating "foolish fool blablabla".

I just liked his pure hatred for Phoenix Wright and his pure coolness on the bench.

Edgeworth
He was a great character in the first game and evolved quite well. His backstory was extremely sad and he is quite likable by the end. In The second game he provides more of a mentoring role showing "what does it mean to be a Defense Attorney." In the third game he was showing how a regular character fits into Phoenix shoes. The most memorable line was, after cross examining bikini on the bath.

Manfred Von Karma
As a "Final Boss" he fits his role to a T. You can't help but hate him.

Franziska Von Karma
I agree with you because in the second game she was a weak character. She was doing her "revenge" not for her father, but because of Miles Edgeworth, her "brother" and eternal rival on the prosecutor's side. Her reason for forging evidence and being perfect was foolish and it ultimately made her a weak character. On the other hand, her role in case 5 was pure awesomeness. Not only has she shown her growth as a DA in Case 5, she also has some of the best lines in the entire series. She also was amazing as Phoenix's assistant in the investigation phase

That's the thing though. Godot's back story and all is actually very interesting, and Franziska gets very little in comparison. But his actual lawyer skills don't even really strike me as impressive as even Edgeworth's. Godot never really corners Phoenix the way Edgeworth and Franziska did in the first two.

Is it really surprising?

He was a genius defense attorney, not a genius prosecuting attorney

Actually, I considered that pretty significant (and I guess we can do away with spoilers as long as it's not too specific) that despite his hatred over Phoenix Wright, Godot doesn't go out of his way to win a case 'by hook or by crook'.

In essence, he fights like post PW1-4 Edgeworth and PW3 Franziska - fair. He raises the objections necessary, he refuses to let Phoenix get off on sloppy work (except for the glaring error in PW3-3), but he doesn't pull dirty tricks.

Well yeah, that's true, but that brings me back to why I prefer Franziska. She's just the better prosecutor, plain and simple. :P

Although, I wasn't satisfied with how her character was wrapped up.
So she just suddenly befriends Phoenix? She never gave him that final piece of evidence either... would have been cool if it ended up having significance in the third game.

Edgeworth seemed to have no problem playing the part of a defense attorney, and Phoenix Wright has to play prosecutor for practically every last one of his cases anyway. :P

Exactly, that is why I like Godot quite a bit. He has a lot of charm and character, on top of that he doesn't
forge evidence like the other two
. He is fair and fights for justice, but isn't so aggressive like the Prosecutors in the first game.

Aggressive =/= amazing Prosecution

That the thing she never actually hated phoenix, she is like a kitten who has its claws out. Case 4 proves it
because she keeps the last piece of evidence as a memento
. Her true rival has always been
Miles Edgeworth
, which is why Case 5 is amazing on so many different levels.

Pretty much

I just finished the game today..I'm kind of depressed that PW isn't defense attorney in the next game. I've gotten attached to him and several of the other characters. I need wallpapers!!!!

Like:
- Great soundtrack
- More Adrian Andrews
- Case 4 HOLY MOTHER ZOMG!!!!
- Much better pacing than the boring 2nd game
- Backstory on many of the characters

Dislike:
- Excessive dependency on a particular character... having this person in 2 cases was great, but I was pretty tired of it by Case 5.
- Contrived plot points (particularly Case 5)
Twins? Cousins? Romance? Please. I guess a lot of people here thought the revelations were amazing, but I felt the connections were so forced that I could not enjoy it.
- Godot in Case 5
- Did I mention Case 5?
- Mysticism junk (I hope GS4 brought the series into more realistic territory...)

GAF loves the last case of the 2nd and 3rd games. But both of them did very little for me, for different reasons. In this case (hah!), it was just way too fake, trying way too hard to pander to its audience.

So... finished the game... I enjoyed it slowly, just awesome. I loved the connection between this chapter and the previous, all the pieces went toghether perfectly. It's sad to think that PH4 will switch the entire cast, but as usual all good things come to an end.

case 5 end spoiler:
Phoenix sipping coffee Godot style.... :lol

I'm waiting for the US version.

I want that Phoenix Wright plush toy so bad. :D
