No one playing Phoenix Wright 3?

Ok, important, I have no classes on the 23rd and can catch the shuttle to the mall. Will Phoenix be there at stores or is it a ship on the 23rd and actually be in stores the 24th? I want this, no I need this game asap. AA4 cannot come soon enough either.

Does anyone know if I can exchange a game that I bought at last week's TRU buy 2 get 1 free games for this when it comes out? I got three $29.99 games and this game will be $29.99 so the price matches up!

Also, I interviewed the Ace Attorney Series Producer two months back - http://anime.advancedmn.com/article.php?artid=4324

Don't have any new information but I hope some of you will find it a good read.

You can try. It's not guarenteed to work though

Ahh, I preordered mine directly from Capcom a month ago.

Not only am I NOT getting the plushie, but the fucker is backordered. WTF is this bullshit!

Sorry to hear that. I preordered mine from gamestop.....when does this game come out?

Does anybody have any idea what this is? It seems a little late to be any kind of strategy guide, unless they're planning to drop PWAA4 around that time.

Today. Their policy says that you can only cancel an order on the day it was placed. I'm tempted to test that and, if it works, haul ass to Gamestop.

Hmmmm they usually call me wtf. Be rite back guys gonna call em.:D

edit: Just called em they got the plushies already but the game won't be there until tomorrow......that's far too long. I'm going to sleep early:D

Did some lurking on Capcom's Community forums. Turns out I'm hardly alone on this as practically everyone I've heard from thus far that preordered direct got backorder notices, some preordering it as far back as TWO months ago. GFJ, Capcom. GFJ!

Same here, preordered 9/9/07 and it's backordered. I'm basically fucking enraged that we spent an extra 5 bucks on shipping to get it, and not only is it backordered, the plushie looks like SHIT (it's worse than the one given out at that con which is what we assumed we were getting) and we can't even cancel our fucking order so my wife who's been highly anticipating this game can't even go and buy it in a store, and instead has to wait some magical length of time? Fuck you Capcom, fuck you up the fucking ass.

Yep. Preordered August 1st.

Backordered.

Capcom finds new and amazing ways to screw their fanbase.

I finally finished this game up last night, amaaaaaazing. Couldn't have asked for anything better. The last case was twice as epic as the last in JFA, and that's saying quite a bit. Everyone buy this game now that's released stateside so we can get GS4. I'll be picking this up tommorow to go along side my import.

I have this (+ bonus) and Z&W (+ bonus) preordered via Capcom, and it seems like EVERYTHING's backordered except for the PW3 bonus item, which shipped separately today. Eh.

thank goodness I didn't order via Capcom, and I was going to. Maybe they had to many orders from stores and just screwed the people online which would be dumb.

I now breathe a huge sigh of relief.

I just got a new email saying it was shipped and not only was it shipped, it's bringing a pal: the fucking plushie that I didn't think I'd get. You're off the hook, Capcom...this time.

The GS score is a serious joke.

They complained that the game doesn't use touch screen control.

Boo hoo, adding an extra case would ruin the storyline and the pacing.

Wait, wasn't this the first PW game that actually allowed you to tackle your case using a couple of pieces of evidence, instead of just one pre-set piece for each circumstance? I'd say that's a pretty decent mix-up.

I actually liked the fifth case in the first game. >_>

Yeah, but to him it isn't an improvement because it doesn't use the touch screen.

Boo hoo.

Fucking hell are they still harping on that? Garbage. Absolute garbage.

The 5th case didn't ruin a happy ending and it bridged the 1st and the 2nd game (albeit with some HUGE plot holes).

The 3rd game would have the happy ending RUINED if you had a bridge between the 3rd and the 4th game. A case between 3 and 4 would also ruin the pacing of the storytelling.

That, plus psyche-locks and using character profiles as evidence provide as pretty damn robust adventure game experience, IMHO.

Granted the PW1 (DS) Case 5 mechanics again aren't implemented, but all of PW2 and PW3 are GBA games, essentially. With juiced up music. Seems like he's disappointed that this isn't PW4... which IS coming. Blah.

It's the developer's unwillingness to change this established formula that holds the third game back a bit. You'll still have times where you can't advance the story because you failed to present some random object to some random person. None of the DS-specific features, such as the cool 3D evidence or fingerprint identification introduced in the bonus case in the first game, were added to this one. This is a shame because there were certainly plenty of times where it would have fit in nicely. But none of these problems ruin the game because it's still long and enjoyable.

Bullshit on so many different levels.

And by PW4's release he'll be disappointed that there isn't full voice acting and an orchestral soundtrack.

GameSpot can be really stupid sometimes. :lol

Don't give them ideas.

7.5 is about what I'd give the series as a whole personally (up to 3). Decent, nothing great. Lame jokes, plodding dialog, storylines are average at best, brutal at worst and the characters are decent but no one really stands out. By the time I usually reached the end of the games, it has long since run it's course with me. Gotten old.

I can understand the appeal though. Hoping 4 shakes it up but from what I've read, I'm not hopeful.

Phoenix Wright comes out TOMORROW!

btw, I've heard

The Super Objection is in the US version. This was for some reason omitted from the JP version.

Looks like those who were patient enough to wait win this time. I'm thinking it's a little bonus Capcom threw in to convince the die hards to buy twice.

They probably cleaned up the spelling errors to if they added that.

Of course I am. I've played through the first two and thoroughly loved them. I've not, however, hung around too much for discussions of PW3 or PW4, since these games especially don't take to spoilering at all well. I don't remember anything about SOs in PW1 or PW2, thus I ask.

No, he is posting in here, which means he is a fan (except a certain person who should get torched and sacrificed to the Capcom statues soon).

I buy enough other Capcom goodies to stay on their good graces. Sorry to inform you. :D

Uh, PW games always score around that 7-low 8 range, so there's no need for a meltdown? Pretty simple to understand.

Yeah, despite how poor the review was, PW avg 81%, PW2 is 78% and PW3 is 83% so far. No need to blow up. Par for the course really.

Without giving away anything too important:

Phoenix says the 'super objection' as he presents his final evidence. When you get to the end, you'll find out why it's important. It's not a normal objection but louder and with an echo sound effect. In the English language option on the JP release, there is no sound, not even a normal objection. Lame.

So I'm confused. It wasn't something in the JP DS release or the earlier GBA release. And it wasn't something in PW1 or PW2, correct?

Then I can only imagine it was added into the US version in order to tie in to PW4?

I didn't miss something, then?

Edit - And for the record, I'm more irked with GS' review comments than I am at the actual score.

Wrong. It was in the original release, and in the DS version of GS3.

On the English language option of the JP DS release, it's not there. It has nothing at all to do with GS4 at all. It's a sound effect.

Make sense to you?

Yeah. Doesn't sound like a big deal at all. Your "not a PW fan?" comment made me think that it was something I missed from the domestic releases. Thanks for clarifying.
