THIS. I would love this. It would be fucking amazing to have Troy in Uncharted. DO IT, NAUGHTY DOG, and will GIVE YOU ALL OF MY MONEY.
I don't think people care because it was current gen.
People actually rank Golden Abyss higher than Drake's Fortune and sometimes even higher than Drake's Deception.
He also voiced the guy Joel tortures on Winter and probably some other characters
Why replace to inferior one? We will see something at gamescom.

We might see non-numbering uncharted. Like Uncharted : Lost Atlantis something along the line.
For next gen I mean. And something else(r). Last of us is great (haven't finished) but I wanna see something completely new from them. It wasn't THAT much of a departure.
Uncharted is Sony's biggest IP they created in PS3 era.
No way in hell they will abandon it. That's like MS ditching halo.
Wouldn't surprise me given both Killzone and Infamous are getting non numbered sequels to kick off the next generation.
This should really be the correct answer I hope. I'd rather have new franchises "from the creators of the Uncharted Series" than just more Uncharted. It had 4 games for crying out loud. Naughty Dog has lots of incredible talent and I for one would like to see that talent used for new experiences and not yearly rehashes.

I liked it. Not sure how I'd rank it compared to the main series, but I found it enjoyable.
My guess is that the second team is working on a brand new IP while the TLOU team is working either on another TLOU game (not a spoiler) or a brand new IP as well.
Naughty Dog always do something new on a new gen hardware and this time it won't be any different. There will be another Uncharted from Sony Bend that will probably hit the PS4/Vita. I am guessing Golden Abyss was Sony gauging how well they can handle the franchise.

Even if they did make a completely new engine it would only take them 1-2 months to get it working for PS4. By comparison, Uncharted's engine most likely took ND around 6-12 months to get it running. Even if it was a new IP with a new engine, I imagine we might be playing that new game in 2 years from now.
Yep. Absolutely terrible. Huge Uncharted fan that was hugely disappointed.

Amy Hennig is one of the most important developers at SCE. If she and her team want to make a new IP then they'll be allowed to. Media Molecule, a sub-50 person studio, said they were done with LBP, Sony respected that and farmed LBP 3 out to Sumo Digital.
That's not to say they (she) wouldn't do Uncharted again (or aren't making it as we speak), because these studios are companies within themselves, who get sales bonuses and royalties, and the fact that each release has outsold the last wouldn't have gone unnoticed, but I don't see them being forced.

I think TLoU long development time is trying to create characters, new gameplay, world setting etc. the engine they're using is continuation from their Uncharted tech and they're already pretty damn good at that, they can pump out Uncharted games reliably in 2 years, with multiplayer too.
assuming ps4 will be easy to develop for, I think just designing new gameplay, coming up with new characters etc will still take 3+ years to make. after that, they can probably back to make awesome sequel every 2 years.
that's the impression I got to from SCE, for better or worse, good because dev can make games they want, sucks for Vita when Sony don't mandate their own top studio to make games for it.

man, now that ND have 2 teams, the possibility of Naughty Dog game every year excites me.
This would be awesome. I would love a mass effect type of adventure game from Naughty Dog.

The Uncharted franchise is my favorite franchise this gen (and possibly ever) but I would be fine with them never making another. I'm not burnt out on the games, but I think it ended well and I don't want to see the series be milked dry.

a new IP from ND probably would still use Nolan North for some part. I think I heard somewhere that Nolan North himself said that he work as Naughty Dog janitor in the off time lol.

It is crazy. But what a performance. I had zero clue it was Nolan North while playing. Dude is a master of his craft.
Anyways, I'd rather Naughty Dog move on from Uncharted. One of the weakest things they've ever done in my opinion. Last of Us isn't perfect either, but it showed me that they're capable of much more than UC.

c) Drake isn't going to undergo some crazy rapid aging crap and require a voice actor change.

No, it hasn't. I think a big problem is that people seem to believe that if they made another Uncharted it'd just be like the rest of the series except prettier. But I don't think that's very likely.
well thats what im personally expecting from the next uncharted if made.

I would like them to maybe have more open ended levels kinda like what kz:sf is doing.
But then again, Im not sure how they would be able to focus the story/set pieces and what not if it wasnt a linear path.
Lezbihonest, Uncharted with a shinier coat will still sell by the truckload and finish top 10 in GAF's GOTY voting. It's easy to dismiss a hypothetical game you haven't seen.

Well, with Uncharted 3 they were on an extremely tight schedule that was made even worse by making the decision to announce the release date so early. Plus the PS3 was already being pushed to its limits. So you have those two elements that would be working against them experimenting with the gameplay in the series for that game.
The PS4 would obviously give them a lot more options. As far as open world goes I think you can look at games like RAGE or Arkham City as examples of what they could go in. RAGE is open world, but once you reach the dungeons (or whatever you want to call them) it becomes more of a classic id linear shooter. So, it delivered the best of both worlds. An open world for those that like the ability to explore, and linear sections that allowed id to control the pacing a lot more.
