Cool, is Canada getting this too? Still haven't heard yet if Canada is getting the Xenoblade X special edition.
Pixel density is bad either way (for 2D pixel art games larger pixels are actually better) and the 3D effect is much nicer on the larger screen. New 3DS XL is also more ergonomic and feels less cramped, and if you are lucky, has an IPS screen (mine does). Afaik, all regular n3DSs have TN screens. So basically, they are crappier than XL in every regard other than weight.
For me, gameplay experience is what matters; faceplates certainly are nice for Nintendo's bank account but they have no effect on your games. (Racing stripes don't make your car faster, either).

That's true. It took several months after Gamestop for EBGames to get the special edition of Zestiria in their system. So their twitter mentioned the regular new 3DS, but not the Xenoblade special edition? I have faith it'll come to Canada, but I'd feel safer with confirmation.Nintendo of Canada's twitter mentioned it as well, so yes. Canadian retailers just tend to be slower adding stuff.
I have used both, and the New 3DS feels much, much better than the XL. The New 3DS is the first Nintendo system in years to feel expensive when you hold it. Contrast that with the XL, which feels just as fucking cheap and mediocre as the old XL.
So, they finally release the New 3DS in North America, and it's in the form of a cringe-y Animal Crossing "Happy Home Maker" Bundle that is apparently more expensive than a 3DS system and the game separately.
It is pretty much what I wanted from the 3DS from the start. Portable and no eye strain.Just upgraded to the standard small N3DS from an OG in the UK today.
Amazing guys.
A new 3ds xl and achhd sold separately would cost more. So, they finally release the New 3DS in North America, and it's in the form of a cringe-y Animal Crossing "Happy Home Maker" Bundle that is apparently more expensive than a 3DS system and the game separately.
Yeah. Thanks for finally giving us something that other regions had for several months, that we should of had since the beginning. A true God among men. There is a God. His name is Reggie.
Welp. Went to GameStop and got laughed at when I showed the guy working what I wanted to preorder. Told him not to laugh at me and he laughed harder before telling me it's not in their system. I'll just eat the shipping and wait the ridiculous extra 8-10 days for it.

Oh well, I've made my peace with my red New 3DS XL. Most likely would've gone for the smaller 3DS but now that I've played with the XL screen, it would be hard to go back.

No. The Zelda New 3DS XL is GameStop exclusive. They never said anything about the New 3DS bundle.
But does it come with an AC Adapter?

I agree. Have not played new XL enough to judge, but new 3DS is better than all old models. New XL was heavy though, but that could have been the demo unit. After years of owning a white 3DS XL I switched to the black N3DS and haven't regretted it since. Picture quality is better, I can take it wherever I want and it's definitely bog enough (for me at least).
Wait, why was the dude laughing at you? Did this really happen? This kind of attitude from GameStop workers is what makes me hate their company. Sorry dude.
I don't get it, whys it funny? Is it meant to be embarrassing to associate with AC?
That guy was a dick, but that story is pretty funny lol
It really happened. The entire store reeked of weed. Pretty sure everyone in there was high. I try to avoid them at all costs, but it's the closest place to my apartment. The struggle of living in the hood.
You have the most quotable avatar on GAF I love you.
