Why are they so quiet on VC? I'm sure it would make a difference to some people.. will there be another presentation before launch?
Probably see it in the treehouse this afternoon.

No wonder they brought forward the release of zelda. Mario kart 8 surely could be ported in time for launch
The lack of indie games is particularly noticeable.
Either Nintendo just isn't featuring or detailing them because they're morons or they took forever to send any smaller developers devkits.
A substantial indie game feature could have significantly helped the look of the lineup.
Consolidating their software teams! What a pathetic launch lineup given their lack of output for the past year on WiiU.
So much for that theory that Wii U was an "interim console" while they got their shit together. NOPE, they just don't have the resources for HD games still.
You must have had fun with the N64 launch lineup.
European launch: March 1, 1997
FIFA Soccer 64
Pilotwings 64
Star Wars: Shadows of the Empire
Super Mario 64
Turok: Dinosaur Hunter
Wayne Gretzky's 3D Hockey
Where is the smash port? Very weak launch lineup other than Zelda IMHO.
They are betting that 1 2 Switch is going to be like Wii Sports.
They do so, they just don't have the mental and strategic capacity to make compelling hardware anymore and they along with their hardest of hardcore refuse to see it.
Does it matter if has 19 launch games. I mean I'll be picking up Zelda, Setsuna, and 1 2 3 Switch at launch. I also have an Xbox one so I'll be playing mass effect is March and Mario Kart drops in April.
Crying about launch line ups doesn't make sense if your a modern gamer with more than one system. I rarely buy games compared to most of the backlog warriors on this site but somehow it's not enough.
I'll agree from a commercial perspective it's kinda ass and Arms should have been there at launch.
So this lineup isn't anemic and I don't want the system because of the hardware?
They did announce a lot of games for 2017. I honestly don't know what some of you were expecting.
Remember when Emily Rogers said Switch launch lineup would blow the Wii U out the water? Yeah, good times.

The hardware has nothing to do with it
The real problem is how barebones the next six months after launch look
We already know Shovel Knight and Binding of Isaac are on their way the system. They just didn't want to show them off, more likely.
The hardware has everything to do with it. If the Switch was at least on par with the Xbone, the third parties would be there and we wouldn't be sitting here baffled as to why Nintendo are releasing yet another overpriced device with no games.
April 28, 2017
Mario Kart 8 Deluxe $59.99
Spring 2017
Arms $59.99
Lego City Undercover
Sonic Mania
Summer 2017
Splatoon 2
I'm not so sure about that. The hardware has everything to do with it. If the Switch was at least on par with the Xbone, the third parties would be there and we wouldn't be sitting here baffled as to why Nintendo are releasing yet another overpriced device with no games.
Besides the launch, just look at this:
This is where the terrible story of this conference lies.
It also doesn't work when there are no real third party games either. Disgaea is the most substantial third party game at launch and it's been out for half a year on another system. Are a bomberman remake and a new version of SF2 supposed to be exciting third party games we want to buy?Nintendo has done this for their last few launches. They announce a system with limited to no 1st party games because they know consumers will only buy Nintendo games if given the choice. Their thinking is that by not offering 1st party games people will buy 3rd party games which will increase 3rd party willingness to make more games. It never works though because they fail to get an install base without a strong 1st party lineup so the 3rd party games they do get are low tier trash, since there isn't a big enough user base to warrant 3rd parties investing real money into the system yet.
I really would have expected them to realize it this time around. I hope they give in after 3 months and just flood the market with stuff they were planning to sit on for later.
The fact they think having Suda get up there to show a piece of concept art over detailing indie games coming near launch shows everything wrong with Nintendo's state of mind.
If you want this thing because of the hardware, I would love for you to explain why. I am legitimately curious.
Not only is BOTW perfectly possible on PS4/Xbone, it would probably be even better than it already looks. That is the greatest tragedy for me above all else.

The OP needs to be updated. Soraya Saga confirmed a release in 2017 for Xenoblade Chronicles 2.
