GAF's Pleasant Genius
Does anyone else feel bad after killing each of them ? To me the game gives an enormous feeling of guilt when I hunt down each colossus and I engage battle with it.
I know there is a reason, a loved one that needs to be saved and heck who would we be kidding if we said that if we were in the same situation as the main character of SotC we would not kill the colossi (self-justified selfishness), but I cannot help having some kind of second thoughts when I battle the colossi and slay them. After all, I came looking for them, they did not come to hunt me.
Also, would a loved one really appreciate the bloodshell we made to save them or would we end up saving them but losing their love ?
I do think that the game creators made everything possible for you to at least respect the colossi as worthy adversaries towards which your are headed against by your needs.
I am very far from finishing the game, but somehow, also judging by most Japanese movies I have seen even a supposedly good ending leaves a very sad and bitter taste in your mouth (MGS 1, MGS 2, MGS 3 did the same thing to me by the way... I would not call them games with a happy ending
), I feel it will end in a meaningful, beautiful, but in the end still in a sad way.

Very interesting are the shadow people that are shown next to the character after each colossi has been killed (for each colossi that dies there is one more shadow that appears)... I keep thinking they are or were the colossi and somehow their spirit is now free, but then they somehow appear sad and imprisoned in the temple...
