Video games are meant to be a haven mostly targeted towards children

IT IS

I think it's funny how here in America (I'm an American by the way) that it's more acceptable for kids to see some guy gunned down to hell, witness an autopsy or dead corpse on national prime time television (CSI etc) but seeing a boob is damaging to a child's mental capacity.

As a new father I'd rather my kid see some young starlet flash some skin on the CW than watch some serial killer on Criminal Minds torture someone.

:::shrugs:::

Then again, I have to admit that even I would feel damaged seeing some mansack appear during UNO. :/

I remember wearing the hell out of my Revenge of the Nerds cable taping as a kid replaying the panty raid sequence when I was 11. I turned out fine.

I never thought I would say this but Nintendo was smart to limit its online functionality. Even though it is annoying it does protect the children from getting mooned.

10bux says she didnt say anything of the sort. The genius reporter at the shit-kicker local town paper probably got creative.

It's not a small-town paper. The story lead the six o'clock news on the local CBS affiliate in a pretty well-populated city, and it's still one of the top stories being pimped on their website (which is full of pop-ups).

One more reason I'm glad I left Michigan after a few years.

EDIT: Watch the video on their website, the mother's a real winner. Nothing says like high class like a barbed wire armband tattoo.

Haha, I was playing Halo with Luke the other night, we beat some dudes and after the game they're like "Enjoy the picture fags". Next thing I know there's a cam picture in my inbox, didn't open it, I'm convinced it was a pic of his dick or something. :lol

I take it they are not aware that you can block all messages with images in your profile settings...
That and they have Family Settings on the profile.

It's solely the parent's responsibility.

You know what, if her kids have the audacity to come into my instance of Paradise City and wreck my car, well I'll be damned if I don't use the Mugshot feature to scar their fragile minds with my testicles shimmering in their post-pubescent glory.

Hence why I disabled pics.

That whole article is a wash just based on the numerous parental options available on the 360. This is simply about being a bad parent and nothing more.

Pleading ignorance by the mother is BS as well, maybe she shouldn't give her kids something that she doesn't know fully about in the first place or at least did some homework on especially in these more tech advanced times.

In the meantime I await FOX news to spin this into something regarding how a civil war in Iraq may be a good thing.

From www.xbox.com:

Video Communications with Xbox 360

Manage who your child can communicate with on Xbox LIVE using video.

To configure your child's communications settings for Xbox LIVE:

1. Start from the System area of the Xbox Dashboard or—if you're using your Xbox 360 system for the first time—from the Initial Setup Complete screen. Select Family Settings, Xbox Live Controls and sign in using the password for your Windows Live ID.
2. Select Privacy and Friends, Video.
3. Choose one of the following settings:
- Select Everyone to allow your child to communicate with anyone on Xbox LIVE using video.
- Select Friends Only to allow your child to communicate only with people on his or her friends list using video.
- Select Blocked to prevent everyone from communicating with your child using video. Your child will still receive new friend requests.

Guys, this isn't funny. This is why kids get fucked up for life.

Their moronic parents taking their Xbox Live and nude pictures away. Who wouldn't be messed up by that?

I wonder what they were playing. TF2 on 360 doesn't allow custom tags like it does on the PC does it? Cause on the PC it's not uncommon to turn a corner and have Goatse in your face.

First games that came to my mind were Burnout Paradise (Takedown cam) or UNO. Otherwise given the low written intelligence of the article who knows...It could have been during a private message.

Chances are good it's a game the kids probably shouldn't have been playing in the first place had their mother checked the rating.

probably Burnout.

Family settings please.

They could easily go back to the mugshots section and see who it was but really who cares, kids see that stuff on the beach in the summer.

Most/All Games are targeted for kids?? :lol

the video keeps showing the Halo 3 box

IF THEY'RE TOO YOUNG TO SEE NUDITY, THEY'RE TOO YOUNG TO PLAY HALO 3

YOU STUPID MOTHERFUCKERS

Master Chief is too much man for the young'ins to handle. Plus Cortana is in and out of his head like a dime store hooker, AND she doesn't wear a bra to boot.

Think it might have been Halo 3 (beaten!) - they show the box next to the boys' 360 about a dozen times in the story.

This really just makes me hate modern parents. Completely reactive - she called MS and looked on the web for how to deal with offensive players, but the concept of being proactive and limiting communication with the included parental controls seems to completely elude her.

Jennifer says the damage to her children from this incident has already been done.

Absolutely hilarious if the kids were playing an M-rated game. They probably just went: "Lol, a pee-pee!"

Isn't there any method or option to disable or block receiving pictures or videos entirely? If not, there needs to be one, to shut stupid people like this up.

Yeah, but how the hell do you see nudity by playing Halo 3? I didn't know it supports the camera.

Jennifer now fears the safety of her children.

OH NO!!!! They saw teh boobies.... all is lost... her children are now going to be stalked at school, fondled by the lunch lady, and become drunks.....

It won't shut them up, because the root of the problem is that they don't realize they're stupid, and when something comes along and smacks them across the face with that fact they just can't accept it.

OH NO NUDITY, DAMAGE IS ALREADY DONE MICROSOFT. HAD I USED THE EXCELLENT BUILT-IN FAMILY CONTROLS, I MEAN, THEY MIGHT NEVER HAVE KNOWN WHAT A NUDE PERSON LOOKS LIKE. NOW THEY DO! THE HORROR!

I'd love to see people like this faced with a nudist beach or something. They'd think it was sodom & gomorrah

Deplorable violence is ok.....just don't flash your nuts in a Burnout Takedown!

There's an ESRB disclaimer at the beginning of every game. If you're a stupid enough parent to let your young child play on XBL, what do you expect?

I still think it's funny how nudity is seen as being worse than violence in the US.

:lol No, it doesn't support it. I'm guessing the cam came when the kid was playing UNO.

This is why these consoles offer fucking blocking off these pictures and content such as IM/Video/Chat/Pictures. Honestly, it's the parents fault for not using the feature.

Don't any of you understand? The human form is a bastion of impurity; its very flesh a monument to Satan! Look not upon your own filthy visage! If you have somehow been tainted by this unholy sight, cleanse yourself! (But not in a shower or anything, 'cause that would require you to be naked.)

But Fox News and various political activist groups and even some politicians tell me it;s the fault of those evil child-hating corporations who make videogame hardware and videogames..

Can they all be wrong?
