BTW, does Nvidia offer any free game promotion now for new owners of 1070? I know they did something with FarCry 4 a while back.
You held on to a 470 for all these years???=OFedEx somehow delivered this to me at 9:40AM! I was planning on sitting around impatiently until like 3PM!

The difference between vendors is very minimal when it comes to performance. What you might regret though is missing out on the Asus DCUIII epic cooling. Them sweet 0db fans and the thing's got like a billion heatpipes which will help it run chill as a cucumber. So I grabbed one of the Gigabyte G1 cards while it was in stock on Newegg yesterday. Of course, now the Asus ROG Strix (which was my first choice) is available, in all of it's upclocked glory. In a characteristic continuation of my comedy of errors, I paid for the rush processing or whatever, so now my order can't be changed or cancelled. Realistically, is the difference in clock speed likely to amount to much that can't be made up through overclocking? I never bothered to OC my 970.

I'm bumping from a 660ti to a 1070 too!Bumped from a 660ti to this. GTA5 looks damned amazing.
Not of fan of Newegg charging over MSRP for the higher end Asus model.

Blame Asus. They told them to.
That's because ASUS changed the MSRP. Newegg is charging the MSRP.
This isn't accurate, but it's funny enough that I want to post it.

Dat 4x boost (the percentage is a + delta)
Is 1070 able to play Crysis 1 on maxed 1080p at 60fps? Is the dream finally come true?
Yes. The case specs tell you the maximum graphics card clearance.
Read the specs.

Big Pascal is gonna cost like ten grand isn't it
How much do you value your kidneys? Your first born?

Yeah but the card is more or less a triple slot design, I'm worried the HDD cage might get in the way

I have that exact lian li case. That card should fit, but it will extend into the negative space above the HD cage so long as you use the first pcie slot, and that you don't have any drive up there that might obstruct it (such as a DVD drive).Yeah but the card is more or less a triple slot design, I'm worried the HDD cage might get in the way

That card is massive though. I just measured the inside of the case because I just ordered a gigabyte g1 1070 which is 286 mm, and it looks like it will just fit without being a problem. 325mm is a massive card, but again should fit aa long as there is no drive in the way.
Edit: just saw you said it's a triple slot card. If it indeed is, it will NOT fit. 12 inches max, as the 3rd slot will hit the hd cage. That card is over 12.
Running Witcher 3 with everything + hairworks and geting 60+fps is rather nice as it is.

Serious talk.
Titan X = $1000
980 Ti = $650
Titan X2 = $1199 (FE $1299) New manufacturing process, new memory HBM2.
1080 Ti = $850 (FE $950), decent AIB cooler = strix, G1, armor = $899
That 1080 Ti is a bargain!
Slight correction: Unless something changes, all Titans (other than a couple of rare exceptions) are Founder's Editions. Unless Nvidia starts allowing custom cards for the next Titan, it won't end up like that.
I think the cage might be about level with the fourth slot, leaving enough space for a 2.5 slot card. It's not possible to be 100% sure without having the case though.

Thanks for the responses, I've ordered it anyway, if worst comes to worst I'll be breaking out the dremel as Diehard suggested.
Has to be 1080p?
I'm running it 1440p and its around 40-50fps maxed.
When do the promotions usually start? Because they've done them for years now so I'm sure these cards will get game pack-ins as well. Is it October/November range when they start? No. You don't get promos with brand new cards.
