Finally got my Gigabyte G1 Gaming GTX 1070
Did some Benchmarks
http://www.3dmark.com/3dm/14226029 - Online Comparison for Firestrike results.
I may have gotten lucky despite having Micron Memory, I don't hear any Coil Whine which is is good. Whether I won the Silicon lottery is up for debate. Unigine Valley says my CPU Clock was 1999 Mhz and Firestrike says I was 2163 Mhz so I don't know what to believe despite CPU-Z saying my Boost Clock being 1811 Mhz.
GPU temps never raised beyond 64c during the Unigine Valley tests.
Here is some Witcher 3 screencaps I did with the FRAPS frame rate capture.
Both screens are all Ultra, no Hairworks, everything set to the maximum values, No V-Sync, Unlimited Frame Rate.
First screen is DSR set to 2560x1440 downsampled to my 1080p display.
Second screen is native res of 1080p with no DSR downsample.
Both screencaps were taken in one of the most busiest sections of Novigrad with large NPC crowd to push it as far as I could. Out in the wilderness expect a 15 to 20 FPS increase.
I was going to test Grid Autosport and Fallout 4, but I think The Witcher 3 suffices as the most demanding game I own in my library. I also own Just Cause 3. I am somewhat curious if my performance woes have ended now that I have a GTX 1070, but I really don't want to redownload 38GB again just to see if I can finally properly play it.
All in all, I'm extremely pleased with these results. I can now play any PC game I want again and not fret over performance issues...for at least another 3 to 4 years.
