Did I mess up buying the ZOTAC GeForce GTX 970? A lot of you seem to be waiting...
Just so you know, Overclockers.uk have an Amazon payment option, too.I know, they are always slow to put it up on Amazon but I am itching. I need my cards.
Standard DVI will not output 120/144Hz at 1080p, so definitely use either DP or the Dual Link DVI cable that came with the monitor.
What GPU setup do you have?
Just got Gigabyte 980GTX.
Got 11719 in Fire Strike. Pretty decent right? It's actually a bit better then my score with my 690GTX.
Does Gigabyte have anything like EVGA Precision?
i dont believe so no
Yeah they do have a utility, not sure how good it is though.Just got Gigabyte 980GTX.

That's the exact one I want. Ordering tomorrow. Gonna be a long wait I'm afraid.

Placed an order for that card nearly 4 days ago and I still don't even have an estimate on the shipping.
=/
Classified cards are usually good, but at the moment there is no word on release date or price.
The Gigabyte G1 is the best 980 out currently. They specifically mention they bin their GPUs to guarantee the highest overclocks. It's also got a beefy PCB and amazing cooler. Have you seen Linus' video of it?

Still nothing, this is becoming painful. I have Amazon money and so can't even spend anywhere else if I wanted to, not that I really want to do that.
Heard a rumor that AMD 300 series was coming out on feb. Should I wait or do I just bite the 970?

Alan Wake sure looks pretty in DSR. It's a shame that American Nightmare doesn't seem to be supported.
Is the new downsample feature available or do I still have to create custom resolutions? None of the games have a higher res than 1080p but Middle Earth. I hope this feature isn't game specific.
That's certainly how it feels as someone paying attention to this thread being a week or two away from ordering parts. My MSI 970 Gaming edition buzzes and features coil whine.
At this moment in time I don't believe any manufacturer is safe.

Man, yours is really bad. I get a little bit of that, but nothing too bad.Buzzing and coil whine on my MSI GTX 970 4GB Gaming card.
Listen to how quiet things are until the game starts rendering.

Noise changes with what is being rendered (skip the the last 8 seconds).

Excessive coil whine.

I had no noise whatsoever from my Asus 660Ti or Asus 670Ti cards.
I'm sending it back to Scan for a full refund since this seems to be a widespread issue.

Reading this makes me feel a lot better I got one from ASUS.
I have an Asus VG248QE as monitor. Which output should I use from the GTX970?
HDMI, Display port or DVI? Which is the best option or does it not matter?
Currently using DVI, since I had that cable to my previous GPU.
I am very sensitive to coil whine, my MSI GTX970 has none. And actually it was my previous card, an Asus 660Ti card that had plenty of annoying coil whine..
now i've read that EVGA and MSI have issues from this thread, so which is the way to go for a 970?
Anybody know what the difference is between these two models other than a slightly higher core and boost clock which adds another £30 to the price lol.
