I find it amusing that many of the people that are accusing Obama of playing the race card are playing their own race cards.

You guys just don't get it.

Obama's whole campaign is about playing the race card and "uniting America." How can he unite America yet be a member of a racist black cult for 20 years?

The left wing loons on this forum may not have a problem with his comments on 9/11 or AIDs, but the vast majority of Americans who appreciate America for what it is will.

1. Commitment to God
2. Commitment to the Black Community
3. Commitment to the Black Family
4. Dedication to the Pursuit of Education
5. Dedication to the Pursuit of Excellence
6. Adherence to the Black Work Ethic
7. Commitment to Self-Discipline and Self-Respect
8. Disavowal of the Pursuit of “Middleclassness”
9. Pledge to make the fruits of all developing and acquired skills available to the Black Community
10. Pledge to Allocate Regularly, a Portion of Personal Resources for Strengthening and Supporting Black Institutions
11. Pledge allegiance to all Black leadership who espouse and embrace the Black Value System
12. Personal commitment to embracement of the Black Value System.

Obama should've distanced himself from this guy before he ran for President. It's too late now.

Yes it is here is how a normal political thread goes.

5 pages of worshipping obama

Someone comes in who does not drink the Obama coolaid.

Defense force assembles and attacks poster

Poster eventually gives up fighting the cult of Obama.

Repeat till end of thread.

with statements like yours, you lost all credibility. i love blanket statements that make no mention of a particular incident.

please just stop.

I love how all of you are experts on judging a person by a few snippets of sermons and completely being able to characterize the man from it. You really have a hidden gift.

I'm not defending Obama, I'm defending people who have someone who's probably a little batshit insane in their lives but love them all the same.

Difficulty with English is a problem that can be fixed. Just takes schooling.

The comments that are at the center of THIS CONTROVERSY, are not the same as the the ones Obama has, over the years, heard while in attendance.

On that note, this is the entire problem with America. There is no goddamn fucking common sense. You would believe that just because Wright has said comments that are obviously fucked up, that Obama must somehow accept them as truth.

Obama said it best. Wright's fault was not bringing up racism in America. His fault was in using this racism to stereotype entire groups of people, creating caricatures of real people. People on both sides of the fence who are angry and disenfranchised for various legitimate reasons. Wright's speech is wrong because it does NOT acknowledge the strides we have made, and it is in this that Obama differs from his mentor. It is FUCKING DEGREES. Is America this goddamn retarded, this fucking incapable of the most simple discerning techniques? If you cannot perceive the epic differences between agreeing with a man on SOME things, and agreeing with him on ALL things ... then it's likely you need to be stripped of your right to vote, and tossed from this country.

This is the problem with this whole media cycle. It demonizes based on soundbites, it tears down based on flavor of the minute. It removes any element of nuance, and forces people to look at REAL HUMAN BEINGS through lenses of controversy and irrelevance. It has no barring on the realities of why people like WRIGHT reverberate so heavily in the African-American community, and why it is just as bad to blame all white people for the injustices against you. If this simple fucking premise cannot be grasped by America at large (and judging by all the sweepingly ignorant post, it IS) then we deserve George W. Bush. We deserve the inequities of our people and the damage of our ignorance.

Until then, we will always come back to this and slam up against this wall. Because you, my friend, are incapable of grasping concepts that illuminate rather than darken.

If Obama has any fault (and he does), it's that he did not approach Wright about the controversial things he HAS heard him say in the past. But in this simple error, you see a picture of a human being who makes mistakes. Obama himself says he is an imperfect candidate, and always will be.

Not to rain on your parade ami but many black people arent African. Especially down around New Orleans many of them are Creole/caribbean or from other countries. The whole "african american" grouping grows more irrelevant by the day. I know, Im just nitpicking here.

Am I supposed to be offended by those "black principles"?

HOMG guys, he's taking pride in his culture and calling for black people to look out for each other! BLACK EDUCATION? Holy shit, the nerve!

As far as that "damning" video of Jeremiah Wright goes, he said stuff that was pretty much true. The country is pretty much run by rich white men. Good ol' Dubya proved that with all the Halliburton and Enron bullshit. The government WAS instrumental in putting crack cocaine in the inner city areas in the 80s. Wright may have overused his superlatives, but he was speaking the truth. I don't see why Obama even had to address this, but with the speech he delivered, I'm glad he did. That was an awesome, inspiring speech.

I agree for the most part, i hope this doesnt hurt the campaign though. It would be a shame.

This is almost as bad as the Historic Black College thread.:lol

Phoenix: I call complete bull on that, had he distanced himself earlier, they would still be going after him just because he was there.

Racist black cult, awesome.

So are Obama supporters in a cult of a cultist? Double cult?

You anti's need to chill out on the crazy for a bit.

You guys have no rebuttals for the fact that Obama's mentor is a racist bigot, and his church is a black cult.

How long would've McCain lasted if he was a member of a church with a "White value system?"

The amount of hypocrisy is astounding, but expected from the Obama cum guzzlers.

how is his church a cult? how is wright a racist bigot? do you know what a bigot is?

Has anyone been to the church in question? For those that haven't (I have) there are people outside of Blacks that attend the church.

seriously if we're gonna get caught up in the inaccuracies of race labels we really need to work on what to call the Puerto Rican Jew segment of America. I never feel quite represented by either side, being both!

Kastrioti said:

Wright has said many powerful things, has helped out his community, does not advocate violence and has inspired a man who would be our president, one who CAN heal our country.

He has also said many horrible, racist things - all of which Obama has already come out and said he denounces and does not agree with.

THE IMPLICATION of you and other readily ignorant individuals is that Obama is somehow LYING about this, and that he secretly believes in the negative controversial statements made by his pastor merely because he attends Trinity Church and because he has been influenced by Wright.

This is YOUR problem, not mine. I have the presence of mind to tell the fucking difference, probably because my IQ is far above 70.

Will I get banned if I throw a "fuck you" at this guy?

I find these comments re: McCain and the Vietnamese again, quite hypocritical in a thread saying people shouldn't be judged for comments they either apologized for, explained the intense emotions behind, or distanced themselves from.

So the Klan is cool also? They just are just taking pride in the white culture and for white people to look out for each other.

Come on what wright said was hate speech and Obama made a mistake about how he has handled it all these years.

Racist black cult. Hmmm... nope, not more of a cult than any goofy evangelical church. Do you know what a cult is?

Kastrioti said:

Somehow I doubt people of your ilk would have any desire to be united, regardless of anything Obama said or did.

To be fair, the answer is always that in a lot of things, especially from the past, the "white" is silent. :P

He does, and that value system includes damning gays to hell. Where have you been?

On a more serious point, your original post does not warrant a rebuttal. You simply listed quotes and stated that they were self-evidently evil. Why not provide commentary on why Wright's quotes are wrong, instead of assuming anyone who "loves America" would just 'get it'.

all religion is a cult, big whoop! like many have said your taking snippets of this man and broadbrushing him - ironically snippets mostly right after 9/11 - you know that time when everyone was pretty fucking loony, grasping for anwsers - you know pat robertson saying lets nuke basically all islamic brown people, lethargy from everyone, anger and hate crimes against anyone with brown skin, patriot act etc. crazy talk was the only talk for months after 9/11.

If you are genuinely African descended then obviously my post wasnt about you.
I know a lot of creole people who DO care about being incorrectly labeled as african american. It pisses them off. Besides, EVERYONE descended from one african family. thats where humanity started. I can sense the Creationists coming after me now.

Hey guys, it's kastrioti! Trying to be taken seriously and linking to littlegreenfootballs.

Wow. Some people never learn!

Also, again: if anyone on the forum wants to lay into "far left loons", I'm pretty much your only real option as an admitted socialist on the forum. Everyone else is just a democrat or leans left. I know after seven years of the shit we've just put up with that makes them LOOK far left, but they're not.

To be fair, I have been adamantly consistent that McCain should not be held liable for his "gooks" comment. For the exact same reasons even, I just like to bring it up in jest occasionally.

Uh yeah I guess that analogy would be correct if the Klan represented a disenfranchised minority who actually had legitimate reasons for being angry and who all sat around all day long saying mean things... but just kinda went home for a beer at the end of the day, instead of doing night lynchings and rabble rousing.

um.. his whole "uniting America" thing was about uniting across party lines. i.e. uniting democrats and republicans.

its quite clear to me, now, that you really do have issues with comprehension.

Most Black people I know would rather be called Black. But, it seems that the white people that I'm around are uncomfortable with the word Black.
