It's arguable at this point that Gagne actually improved our pen.

Guess it's time for me to start loading my gun.

What i'm saying is that you shouldn't really mess with a good thing. Okajima was a fine setup man, why add another one? Obviously Gagne isn't *this* bad, but maybe he's choking under the pressure, or isn't as pumped up in a non-save situation.. it could be just a bad spell, but it could also be something psychological. But you're right, when i said improving the pen, i meant in theory :lol.

Then again I don't know who the Red Sox should have focussed on. The only positions that really need improving are SS and RF, and maybe catching. Also I guess they could improve on Youk too, but doubtful through the trade market.

Molina is a HUGE upgrade at backup catcher. This dude is raking :lol

Career OPS+ 63
OPS+ with Yankees 83

His batting average with the Yankees is higher than his on base percentage. That is a special kind of suck right there.

You obviously did not see Wil Nieves play or else you'd also agree that this was a HUGE upgrade.

how is this even possible? high percentage of sacs?

If Francouer stops swinging at anything and everything, he has the potential to become the future of the team. The guy knows how to hit and his defensive skills speak for themselves.

From what I've seen, he's developed a lot more plate discipline this season.

Sir, if that is wrong I have no wish to be right.

I had no idea I could turn on a player so quickly, but never have I held so much disdain for a baseball player as I do for andruw jones this season. Spitting, lol-ump-he's-just-mad-because-his-son-died talkin' Roberto Alomar I didn't hate this much.

I NOW HATE HIM MORE THAN KENT HRBEK OR KELLY GRUBER. THAT, MY FRIENDS, IS SUM H8

Yeah, he's definitely improving. This guy can really hit. I get A. Rod vibes from the guy.

A. Jones should head to the Red Sox after the season. :D I'm pretty sure he's going to have a turn around year next season (so long as he recovers from his injuries)

God, I hate ESPN. Why the fuck are you interrupting a game and missing run-scoring plays to show fucking Bonds footage for the 100th time?

I'm just surprised that the game they showed actaully ended up being the Braves. I don't know how many times I've ended up getting a Redsox or Yankees game instead of the advertised Braves game on ESPN. I'm guessing it has something to do with my location but shit is it annoying. I need to get some MLB season pass for next year.

They usually can't change the Sunday night game because every other team has played by the time it starts.

Diaz is the man. I feel sorry for the guy since he should be starting with the numbers he puts up but theres too much talent in that position.

So I've been without tv or internet for a full week, but I heard the White Sox still suck, but Bobby Jenks is still awesome and tied the record for most consecutive batters retired, so hey.

Could we assume Willie Harris will take over center field next year and Diaz will get to be the regular left fielder?

(Why the heck am I talking about the Braves so much? Goddamn avatar...)

Always a possibility but I think they're going to try and keep Andruw. He's sort of limiting his opportunities with the performance hes giving this season. Braves need some pitching though. They should just scrap everyone who isn't a starter. :lol

It's nice to not have to try and cover for him with the grit label no more.

Well, this game has certainly taken a backseat today. My dad had to go to the ER because we thought he was having a heart attack. Turned out to be an inner ear infection that gave him severe vetigo. He's back home now resting.

If the Braves lose tonight I can live with a 3-3 road trip.

Holy crap man, I'm glad he's ok.

Good to see Burnett back and pitching well. Good to see Gibbons is already trying to get him injured his first game back.

Burnett had gone 80 pitches or so going into the 8th and was cruising. I don't understand the criticism here. He was given 7 weeks , they took his time with him. Time to let him loose.. but obviously avoid the 3 straight 125+ pitch outings that may have lead to his first injury.

What the hell? Are the jays being managed by Dusty Baker in disguise?

:( :(

But it has more to do with AJ burnett walking so many and striking out so many, that he can't go 6 innings usually without throwing 120. Hopefully Gibbons has learned his lesson, and hopefully AJ starts to pitch more efficiently, like he did tonight. The Jays starting rotation is awesome, with Halladay,Burnett,Marcum, and Mcgowan.

Meh I was only being half serious.

Only with Burnett, before he was injured he let Burnett stay there with like 130+ pitches once just to finish an inning. It is half Burnetts fault because he walks and Ks so many that he need to throw like 100 pitches to get through 5 innings. The rest of the pitching staff he barely ever lets them get to 100 pitches.

Is it wrong for me to want AJ to DIE?

With all his offensive struggles this year he still plays fucking amazing defense, so I dont want him to die....yet.

So the Yankees are 4 games back in the division and tied for the wild card. Nothing is set in stone yet obviously, but Frankman's post-September future is looking to be quite in jeopardy :D
