Man, I am really enjoying Zito's lousy game. Not even anything personal, but my top fantasy rival had him starting today, it's going to crush his pitching ratios :)

Also, the best part about starting 5-1 against the Mets and Phillies is that you get to play your next three games against the Nationals.

So, I saw the Braves/Mets rubber match from about the 6th inning on. It was a damn good game, though I admit I was largely rooting for the Braves just because the Mets have inspired the kind of irrational hate I used to have for the dynasty-era Yankees.

While the Central stinks (and I seriously think it may come down to the Brewers or the Reds for that division this year) at least it'll be fun to see the Mets/Braves rivalry in the East. That should be a fun contest as the year goes on.

What a clever guy.

Ugh, I hate when the Red Sox are the Sunday night game. It's bad enough that we generally suck shit when we're on ESPN Sunday Night Baseball, but listening to Joe Morgan makes me wish for the sweet release of death.

3 hours until the Rangers bat around, Schilling records his second loss, then posts in his blog about how horrible he pitched, followed by self-fellation after hundreds of rabid Sox fans leave comments telling him he's still awesome even though, really, he'll have more success this year advertising his gaming studio than he will pitching.

How's your starting rotation looking so far?

They're all better than Schilling. Well, maybe not Igawa, he looked pretty **** in his last start. Also, Rasner gave up a homer to Paul ****ing Bako...

What was my point again?

Jon Miller says Curt Schilling is BACK. He back baby!

Seriously though, he's kinda dealing right now.

You talk as if striking out Brad Wilkerson is anything special. Besides, leaving hangers that Sosa and Kinsler just miss for HRs isn't exactly 'dealing'.

Regardless, you'll still win cause Vicente Padilla is a useless piece of crap.

Well it could be worse, he could be giving up bombs to Brad Wilkerson. He really needs to stop throwing that change up though.

Joe Morgan's in depth analysis of control vs. command was wonderfully insightful. Thank you, Joe.

I'll take it over over his yelling about small ball for three straight hours.

I know this came up earlier, but imagine if the Sox weren't so trade happy a year ago. They could have Hanley at short, Anibal in the rotation (probably more effective because the sox would watch his pitch counts more), and Andy Marte ready to take third. They'd still need a centerfielder, but I'm sure they'd be able to find one without having the pay ridiculous amounts of money to Lowell and Lugo. (but yeah, you could say this about most teams)

Also, David Ortiz is really good at baseball.

The fact that Jacoby Ellsbury will probably be ready to play center for us in 2008 only makes all of these trades look worse than they already do.

But hey, at least we hung onto David Eckstein Jr.!

Does Joe Morgan really deserve all this hate? He has his weaknesses (hatred of stats, obsession with small ball) but i think his analysis of the pitcher-batter situation is pretty good. His comments on hands being beneath the ball on a high pitch, for example, were pretty insightful.

Al Leiter was insightful. Morgan is awful.

Geez. It's almost terrifying the kind of dynasty they could have had ready to go, with all that, Lester/Daisuke/Papelbon/Hansen, and all the extra money they'd free up.

Sorry, I'm really not trying to rub this in oranything. It's just very interesting. I often wonder the same thing about the Braves keeping Jason Schmidt.

Yeah, I think about it often. :(

I mean, it's not guaranteed that the team would've been good, but it would've been very interesting to watch develop.

Rubbing it in would be something like this:

Coco Crisp is starting.

e: And don't forget Josh Bard and Cla Meredith for Dougie

Oh Lord, I had forgotten all about that one, else I would've included it in my long ass post a while ago....****ing denny neagle...
I don't want to imagine Capellan becoming good for the brewers after we gave him up for KOLB of all people...

Come on brad wilkerlol!

Gameday ditched the pitch trail. Now the pitches just appear. I hate it.
