Can't win them all. Maine so far has been doing better than anyone could have hoped. I've always liked him and thought he'd give us a solid season, but he's been just awesome. So Pelfrey sucking it up isn't getting to me as much as it probably should.

Mark Prior went through athroscopic surgery on his shoulder today. It appears hey found some stuff, repaired it, and he's done for 2007.

Watching WGN as well, eh, J2?

Anyway, Green just hit a bases-clearing double, and it means nothing! How depressing is that?

jesus @ Pelfrey. :-x

well, he's still better than Karstens right now!

Also, Prior's done again? Shit, maybe him and Wood are finished - period. Man, they were gonna be like the new Glavine and Maddux or something, owning for a long time. Sucks when injuries do stuff like that to potential :-(

Oh my god, during the Cubs rain delay, Len was singing Johnny Cash and Brenly was playing guitar with his hat on backwards

AL West DH's:

Piazza .260/.321/.377 .698
Vidro .286/.328/.381 .709
Hillenbrand .212/.226/.212 .438
Sosa .244/.306/.489 .795

OFFENSE!

How many years in a row is that? They should just take him out back like a horse with a broken leg and shoot him.

Well, he's on the Cubs. It's pretty much the same thing.

Let's face it, Felix isn't going to be the same when he comes back. Liriano though, I think he would have challenged all-time strike out records. He had sick stuff.

Yeeeah! Look at Suckenbrand take last place. What the hell. Honestly.
So far he's had one day of good work? Just one? Donde esta el spark?

Gagne seems done more or less too. It's possible he'll be back eventually.. but you can't count on that when it happens to a pitcher. Getting off the steroids probably didn't help either. :lol

Right on the money Frankman.

Shit.
Jeez I didn't even know the game had started then, damn. From checking when I made the post he already allowed 6 runs by then. Next time I'll postpone the interview.

At least the Mets threatened mildly at the end. Oh well.

I'm surprised. Usually he starts out hot and decides to start sucking after the All Star game. Oh well, I hope he has learned his lesson. Don't **** with Gibbons.

**** that shit. Felix's injury was nowhere near as bad as Prior or Liriano's. He doesn't need surgery and about the worst of it is that he'll have to stop throwing his slider again.

Good thing for Prior he got his degree, he has something to fall back on.

Oh God Zaun out for 6 - 8 weeks. The Blue Jays are cursed.

DL:
Zaun - 6 - 8 weeks
Ryan - 4 - 6 weeks probably 8 weeks till he is pitching
Glaus - back on Saturday until he injures himself again
League - Who knows, might not even be back this season
Johnson - 2 months
Burnett - Sooner or later will get injured we all know it

woot! i made it home just in time for the braves game. even after having a teacher that forgot then damn final :lol

have all of KJ's leadoff homers been on the first pitch? didnt see if that last one was.
Fourth pitch on that AB.

Hudson is going to eat the Marlins for dinner tonight. I'm so glad he remembered that he rules.

I have a good feeling that the Braves are going to set the all time run differential record tonight.

Also, Kelly Johnson is the man.

Also, Salty is too good for AA. He should be in Richmond.

Agreed. It's pretty clear that the new direction we need to head in is minor variations of "an a bomb from arod." For example, "a K-Bomb from K-John!"

Honestly, you guys should really trade him by this deadline. You'll get a great deal for him, and, obviously, the Braves don't need another catcher.

Yeah, it's really a sad situation, but McCann is already a superstar, and moving Salty somewhere else would not be fair to him, in terms of his own value. With the gaps the Braves have in left (or maybe not if Diaz keeps hitting) and the rotation, leveraging him for a big trade is probably the best move.

I'd like to see us trade him and a pitching prospect for Baldelli, cause I seriously doubt that Liberty is gonna pony up to keep Andruw. Unless, you know, we win the World Series or something.

I think that's more than Baldelli is worth. But I'd like to get him too...

Though if Andruw keeps hitting like this on his contract year, I'm pretty sure some kind of minimum wage deal can be arranged.

Want Erstad? He had 2 RBIS yesterday.

I'm totally geeked for this game. Arcadey, over-the-top baseball action for the win.

If it's made as well as it could be, this will be the best Wii game ever.

I agree, but Rocco is largely a known quantity- an above average defensive outfielder with some pop in his bat and speed in his stride. Salty is still just a prospect- you're gambling that he's gonna be awesome, which is basically what is done with all prospects. You just don't know how he's gonna turn out. Hell, look at McCann- he wasn't highly thought of outside of the organization until he came up and started kicking ass and taking names. Now he's the best all around catcher in the game, IMO. Including Mauer, who will only be a catcher for another couple of years until his size causes a move.

HAHAHAHAHA no.

And a history of injuries. Just as much of a gamble as Salty.

If we're going to try to get an injury plagued guy, I'd rather try to talk Billy Beane into arranging some kind of Diaz for Harden deal.

Hmmmm...interesting...I hear this man is a tough competitor, AND used to be a punter....

Hahahha no way Harden is going anywhere. No one is going to offer anything near his worth(deservedly so because of his injury record), and Beane isn't going to take anything less than that.

If you haven't noticed, Wood and Prior have remained Cubs through their careers for a reason =p

This game is continuing a trend I don't like - we score a few early in the game and then the offense goes to sleep. I'm confident in Huddy holding them to less than three tonight, but the other starters ain't that good.

Astros are just :|
