wtf.

First, Hudson loses. And now JORGE SOSA is beating Brandon Webb.

WHAT DID I DO TO UPSET YOU O BASEBALL GODS?

Seriously, its like we used up all our luck in the 90s or something.

I just can't stress enough that the Braves have to win EVERY game Smoltz and Huddy pitch. We're just not good enough to be losing games they start.

I'm not worried though.......the Mets are on pace for 106 wins. I think we can all agree they ain't that good. I'd be interested to know what their pythagorians wins are?

I was looking for Rick Peterson's comments on Jorge Sosa in Spring Training about getting him to pound the lower half of the strike zone and stop trying the throw the ball past people and found this gem on the Complex Case of Oliver Perez's motion. Damn ... Rick Peterson has Maine, Perez, and now Sosa throwing well (Sosa had excellent AAA numbers). The Sosa I saw pitch tonight wasn't the same Jorge Sosa I hated on the Braves. This guy mixed his pitches, worked corners, and sacrificed power in order to pound the lower half of the zone. If I'm not mistaken he also made the final decision about keeping Joe Smith on the varsity squad. Too bad pitching coaches don't get awards.

Hahaha, just wait. He's still Jorge Sosa.

When is the next Mets/Braves series? I can't wait to see the Mets pounded into the ground again and hear the lamentations of their fans.

May 22nd-24th. Keep talking there, just more stuff to quote in June.

And I see you missed my point ... he ISN'T the same Sosa. He seems to be a pitcher instead of a thrower, unless you're saying he threw silders, curves, and changeups behind in the count and didn't try to throw 100 mph fastballs to everyone as a Brave.

There is way too much of an NL East bias in this thread. Yankees, too. Do we have fans from any other parts of baseball here?

There are a few Mariners fans (myself included), and a couple Dodgers fans, too.

...and hopefully with this outing, the Twins management realizes what a horrible move it's been to keep Sir Sidney on the team this long and brings up Kevin Slowey, Scott Baker, or Matt Garza. Oh, god, I hope they do.

Now look at the shit you've caused with your pansy ass tackle on Kenji. Good going, Phelps.

I thought this was over, why the hell did Proctor bean him?

Wow, what a job by Brian Cashman pulling this off without anybody knowing about it.

The Yankees just put out a release saying only that Roger Clemens has signed a minor-league contract. More to come as we find out details, but based on last year, he is three or four minor-league starts away from joining the rotation.

Wang
Pettitte
Mussina
Clemens

You can go to war with those four.

Egg on the faces of the media. Plenty of us predicted he would sign with the Yankees but nobody had this scoop.

Nope!

Also, Clemens can eat a bag of dicks.

The only way he can redeem himself in my eyes is if he breaks Barry Bonds' kneecap with a 92 MPH fastball ... who am I kidding, he probably can't throw 90 anymore.

I go for a 4 mile jog and come back to find the Braves with a come-from-behind win, Bobby Cox was ejected and is now 6 away from the record, and the Yanks wasted $20 million on Clemens.

WHAT A GREAT DAY!!!!
