Well there was one empire signaled a HR but another singled Foul and as you know they called a foul. Then the pitcher walked him.Meier said:Damn, Russ is tearing it up! WTF, what just happened? Called foul and then he walked or something?
I don't think so, Vinny would have said something though.Meier said:I hadnt heard of this Tony Abreu kid until the other night.. anyone know if he's related to Bobby?

OK, so you're a major league team scuffling to score runs, and Wilson Betemit isn't hitting, so you bench him and promote top prospect Andy LaRoche. This is not a bad idea at all. In fact, Betemit has now started to hit, mainly in a pinch-hitting role. The problem is, the Dodgers didn't do that. They brought up LaRoche, used him inconsistently for 30 at-bats and then went to Plan B, which is apparently Tony Abreu, who did put up some interesting numbers in the minors, but he's not a power hitter. LaRoche is. He takes walks, he fields well, he certainly deserves a chance. However, Abreu started at third base Tuesday. I don't get it.
What do the Dodgers intend to do here? Are there any other third basemen in the farm system? Maybe they'll promote James Loney to play first base and move Nomar Garciaparra across the diamond. Fantasy owners are pretty confused here.
What do I think will happen? I bet LaRoche gets sent back to the minors in the next few days. He might be back in a month, but the Abreu promotion was directed at him. It's possible LaRoche isn't ready for the majors, but I also doubt Abreu is. Betemit had his chance. I wouldn't do this, because fielding and health would matter to me if I was a manager, but I actually think we'll see Nomar switch positions at some point. Never mind that he's got as many home runs this season as Jason Schmidt.
Yeah Nomar is definitely not a power hitter anymore, that why I want Grady to drop him to 5th spot and have Martin bat 4th or 3rd spot. As for Nomar moving to 3rd base that would be pretty tough transition during the season if it was during spring then it might be good to do. I know that Loney been grumbling about wanting to be trade so I think the Dodgers want to make him happy by giving him the 1st base position. The Frankman said:Not sure but:
No man, James Loney and Chad Billingsley for Carlos Delgado and we pay 1/3rd of Delgado's salary for 3 years. Straight up. RIGHT NOW.NomarTyme said:Yeah Nomar (half asleep reading...) :lol, Yeah ok now. Why don't the Dodgers throw in Broxton while their at it.The Frankman said:No man, James Loney and Chad Billingsley for Carlos Delgado/Lastings Milledge and we pay 1/3rd of Delgado's salary for 3 years. Straight up. RIGHT NOW.
Ok, throw him in and Mets will throw in Lastings Milledge, Jorge Sosa and Mike Carp. MIKE CARP IS THREE KINDS OF AWESOME!!NomarTyme said::lol, Yeah ok now. Why don't the Dodgers throw in Broxton while their at it.

rc213 said:I didn't understand the Abreu move either, Abreu is supposed a great 2nd baseman. Little should just either stick it out with Betemit or LaRoche, Bringing in a 3rd guy was just absurd. Nomar is defenitely not going to be moved to 3rd, He doesn't have the arm to play 3rd anymore. BrazobaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaN!
Meier said:I wouldn't mind seeing Nomar get moved back to SS and have Furcal try his hand at 3rd.. if he'd be willing of course. I'm not sure that Loney is necessarily a better prospect than LaRoche though -- they're probably equal. Hard to say how this will all pan out.

Yeah, the Sheff signing was a great move.Meier said:Boy, if anyone thought the Tigers were a fluke last year, they're proving them dead wrong so far this year. Maggs is just having an absolutely lights out year. O_O I see that Chone Figgins has that average up to .133 now -- grats to those who drafted him! :lol

I am with good sources that I should be angry that you have even included my cherished team within your cursed box that is known as "a post". Why.Cloudy said:Angels getting crushed. Wow...
Yeah I guess he has been slumping late with only 2 RBI in his last 10 games, but still a dangerous hitter.Cloudy said:It was a good signing IMO. He's had a slow start but it's another power threat in that lineup that you have to worry about. I think the Yankees made a mistake moving him for Abreu and getting pretty much nothing back. Any Yankees fan would tell you they'd rather have Sheff in the lineup right now..
Santana needs to stay at home.
Oh. I know for sure those ugly stats. We need to go to the road games... cover everything in red, and then block out the sun so it looks like its at night too.Cloudy said:Yah, he can't picth on the road for some reason. Here are his stats...
Home: 3-1 2.33 ERA
Away: 0-5 7.86 ERA and rising (8 ERs today. Yikes!)
