Incidently, who can tell me what's the Mets record so far this year in 1-run games/extra innings games?Mrbob said:Good grief.
Cubs are going to lose ANOTHER extra inning one run game.
I think this will make the Cubs 2-14 in one run games.
I thought the law of averages said this shit should even out?
Another one run loss coming wooooooooo.
Link said:Ok, make that eight sweeps. The Rockies swept the Giants and the Indians swept the Tigers.
What's the record for most sweeps completed in one day, anyway?
hmmm . . . okay!Link said:Well, we got a similar swing in the NL East, so..... party time?

"The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the inequities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. Blessed is he who, in the name of charity and good will, shepherds the weak through the valley of darkness, for he is truly his brother's keeper and the finder of lost children. And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who attempt to poison and destroy my brothers. And you will know my name is the Lord when I lay my vengeance upon you."
you see, mr. derek jeter here, he's the shepherd and he's going to lead us out of the valley of darkness and into the promised land.

CHICAGO -- Following today's game vs. Tampa Bay, the Chicago White Sox optioned left-handed reliever Andrew Sisco to Triple-A Charlotte.
Sisco, 24, has gone 0-1 with an 8.36 ERA (13 ER/14.0 IP) and 13 strikeouts in 19 games with the White Sox this season. The 6-10, 270-pounder has issued 11 walks and allowed 19 hits.
After compiling a 3.38 ERA (3 ER/8.0 IP) in April, Sisco posted a 15.00 ERA (10 ER/6.0 IP) in May.
The White Sox will make a corresponding roster move prior to tomorrow's game at Minnesota.
Joe said:weren't the red sox 10 games out in late july when arod ignited the red sox championship with his shenanigans?
that's actually a good comparison because the red sox were underachieving BIG TIME until that point. yanks need a good brawl. too bad no one on the yankees has a set big enough. maybe rocket's got some fortitude left.
Eminem said:Yeah, god forbid Yankee fans refuse to concede the season before June.
QuickKick89 said:Yeah, see, the Yankees ran out of Karma and mystique in 2001. And in 2004, they lost their wonderful claim of being "The greatest team in the history of sports".
Face it. It's not only over, it's OVER. Not just for this season, but for the Yankees being any form of threat in the MLB for the next 50-odd years.
Welcome to Red Sox Nation. Have a Fenway Frank on me.

He's hit in three straight, and one of the early shots in the first inning or so had him standing next to TP and talking, so I sincerely hope so.siamesedreamer said:I'm excited about Andruw's oppo bomb......could he be coming out of it?
Triumph Dolomite 1300cc said:Good win for the Bravos today. My friend and I were musing on this over the weekend- it's like they reversed the formula they've had for years, which was beating the shit out of bad teams and playing .500 or so against the good ones. Now we're beating the good teams (Mets, Dodgers, Pads and Brewers so far) and getting our asses handed to us by the bad ones (Nats and Phils).
Also, good to know Freel didn't do himself any permanent injury today.
