I think Willie tore into this Mets team after the Braves series and the first game of the Marlins series. And it looks like it did some good. I actually saw some 2-out RBIs in the other games.

So much for worrying about the Braves. If that series win couldn't compel them to start playing consistent competent baseball, nothing will.

And The Show '07 is awesome on PS3. I like 2K7 just fine but The Show is in another league entirely. 60 FPS and Road to the Show pretty much ensure I won't be playing much else this summer.

CHICAGO -- Following today's game vs. Tampa Bay, the Chicago White Sox optioned left-handed reliever Andrew Sisco to Triple-A Charlotte.
Sisco, 24, has gone 0-1 with an 8.36 ERA (13 ER/14.0 IP) and 13 strikeouts in 19 games with the White Sox this season. The 6-10, 270-pounder has issued 11 walks and allowed 19 hits.

After compiling a 3.38 ERA (3 ER/8.0 IP) in April, Sisco posted a 15.00 ERA (10 ER/6.0 IP) in May.

The White Sox will make a corresponding roster move prior to tomorrow's game at Minnesota.

Reds' Freel Seriously Injured In Collision

Freel collided with right fielder Norris Hopper while chasing a fly ball in the top of the third inning and landed awkwardly on the warning track.

Freel, who is known for his aggressive and sometimes reckless playing style, remained motionless on the ground for more than 10 minutes before he was immobilized and placed on a stretcher.

Ken Griffey Jr. entered the game in right field and Hopper, who appeared to have injured his arm in the collision, took Freel's place in center field.

Freel was taken to a hospital for tests, but the Reds said he was able to move his arms and feet and spoke coherently to trainers.

My friend and I were musing on this over the weekend- it's like they reversed the formula they've had for years, which was beating the shit out of bad teams and playing .500 or so against the good ones. Now we're beating the good teams (Mets, Dodgers, Pads and Brewers so far) and getting our asses handed to us by the bad ones (Nats and Phils).
