Welp, if things hold we'll finish up June 13-15. That's a hell of a lot better than last year's 6-20.

Damn......Uggla
The funny thing about it too is that since the Minnesota series, we'll have been 8-6 with five of those losses coming in that utterly decrepit stretch against Boston and Detroit. If we'd managed ANY offense in that time span, we might be looking at a .500 or better month. Still, it looks like things are turning around a bit for the better.

dont fall for it triumph, this is just a ploy to get us into believing that things are getting better, just so they can better crush our hopes again later

Damn, you call yourself a Braves fan? Support your team, dammit!! Larry is actually hitting again, your rookies are hot, the team is winning in various ways and they're pretty healthy right now!! Keeping rooting them on . . . keep hope alive!!

yes . . . despair tastes SOOOOOO much sweeter when flavored with hope

See, I called it, they're trying to break your heart just when you thought they were a good team ;)

so....soriano for closer yet?
thats the 3rd time fatty has gotten pummeled out there (if not more)

i vote for soranio for closer, too bad it wouldn't count because bobby loves to stick with his guy, i mean andruw is batting below .200 and is hitting cleanup. :(

If this is true, this is awesome!:lol :lol

From AOLSportsblog:

It wasn't bad enough that the Yankee team that includes seven all-stars could muster just a single hit against Chad Gaudin and Rich Harden.

It wasn't bad enough that Kei Igawa and Scott Proctor got knocked around like double-wides in a tornado.

It wasn't bad enough that Jeter, A-Rod and Abreu were a combined 0-11 with five strikeouts.

No sir, the Yankees turned up the heat a notch when the game ended. Scott Proctor threw all of his equipment out of the dugout and onto the field. He then proceeded to light it on fire for a little post-game bonfire! Somewhere, there has got to be video of this. Please, I'm begging.

so that's the wreaking stench of horseshit i smell!

ha, so it's true. from yankees.com:

Perhaps the hot-tempered Proctor hoped to excise some of his recent struggles, lighting a small bonfire a few feet from the top step of the Yankees dugout. He then watched from the railing for several minutes as the contents grew charred and unrecognizable.

Love how Beimel comes in and promptly gives up a double. rc must be at the game tonight I take it.

wtf toronto.

boston is practically begging someone to make a run for first place in the east. the bluejays and yanks are just stumbling in place.

:lol i think he thought it hit him

with that son of a bitch that i will refer to as left fielder going into the stands, it was a pretty exciting inning.

Yeah, Saito stayed down for quite while(I was freaking out too). I hope that guy wasn't a Dodgers fan.

hmmmm pressure's building up in yankee land. cashman saying a trade won't help the team, it's up to the players to improve..."no one feels safe". posada starting to call out the effort of the team (aka bobby abreu).

i kinda hope it implodes, it shooud have already done so after 2002.

The Mariners have called together an 11:30 am press conference today for a "major announcement." Also, “The news is big enough that the M’s are suggesting to baseball writers that they might want to change their flights to Kansas City.”

I wonder what it will be? Ichiro contract extension? Did they make a trade?

edit: WOW. The rumor floating around on the web is that Hargrove is leaving the team.

**** Cashman. Please please please please please fire him now.

The team is garbage and its all because of him. The dumbass can't blame George this time because he's the one who has all the control now. He made all the moves this year and it was a complete and ****ing disaster. At least when George made the moves he brought in somebody who was talented instead of somebody who was more talented meaning the Yankees made a bad move but they could still get use out of the player.

I was blasting this offense BEFORE the season starter even though ESPN was calling it "the greatest of all time". :lol

Cano wasn't going to be a career .340 hitter forever
Damon and Giambi are ALWAYS hurt so why would this year be different
One of your best offensive players in the catcher who can't play everyday SO WE CONTINUE TO SIGN PURE CRAP TO BACK HIM UP
Matsui and Abreu have be declining year to year
And Cashman put together the WEAKEST bench that the Yankees have had since the early 1990s

No surprise why they can't hit for shit. If it wasn't for Arod's career season this team would be dead ****ing last in offense.

Then you have all the problems at pitching Pavano, Igawa, shitty bullpen, etc. which is all Cashman's fault as well.

The guy managed to trade Gary Sheffield, Randy Johnson, and Jaret Wright for one player that's on the Yankees roster right now...and he's a shitty reliever. I don't give a shit that you have a ton of young arms in the minors Cashman the team is made up of OLD position players. By the time those guys are ready for the big leagues you'll have to replace everyone on the team.

Also your ****ing penny pinching in the offseason where you got a shitty backup catcher, a shitty first baseman, and a shitty backup bench when out the ****ing window when you paid Clemens millions for NOTHING. You basically removed all the depth from the Yankees that they had last year (which wasn't much) and replaced it with Clemens. Stupid dumbass.

I honestly don't get why he still has a job because the Yankees could and should have a better GM than he is but instead they keep his overrated and worthless ass around for what?

And Torre has cost the Yankees some games this year because of some of his moves but you know what Cashman cost the Yankees this season because of his moves yet you don't here shit about him getting fired.

This offseason will be the biggest for the Yankees in years and it will determine if they contend next year or are an average team for the next couple of years. I honestly don't want Cashman ****ing that up and I can't see how any Yankees fan would want him in control either.

PS The dick bag also hates Bernie Williams probably because he can hit over .200 (Cashman seems to have a thing for signing shitty guys for the bench) and he's the sole reason why Bernie didn't come back to the team this year. I mean we can keep ****ing Josh Phelps around for a couple of months and then when we need to play him (Giambi and Doug hurt) they get rid of him. What was the point in keeping him on the roster other than to keep Bernie off the team Cashman?

BRAVO!! BRAVO!!!

Mariners manager Hargrove is resigning

By Larry Stone

Seattle Times staff reporter

In a stunning development, Mariners manager Mike Hargrove is resigning, the Seattle Times has learned.

The Mariners have called a major press conference at Safeco Field for 11:30 this afternoon.

No details were immediately available on the reason for Hargrove's resignation, which comes during the Mariners' best stretch of baseball since he was hired prior to the 2005 season. The Mariners have won seven games in a row and stand 11 games over .500 at 44-33.

They have moved into contention in both the AL West race, where they trail the Angels by four games, and in the wild-card race, where they are one game behind Detroit.

Bench coach John McLaren would be the likely choice to replace Hargrove as manager.

Word up.
FIRE SALE TIME MOTHERFSCKERS.

Let's blow it up, so that way in 2008 and 2009, we have the YANKIDS ready to run things.
The only person who should be receiving any money is A-Rod. If we can't get him to stick around (and we have a huge advantage because we can offer our money + 9M extra a year of Texas'), then move him for awesome players/prospects.

Also, GIRARDI FOR MANAGER. He would not be allowing any of this shit to happen. Ever.

Yeah, fire sale. I also agree that saving Cashman because of his long term plan is kind of stupid, considering it demonstrates he can only do one thing at a time...which shouldn't happen when you have 200 MILLION DOLLARS TO SPEND
