Mets are worse than they were last year and they dont deserves to make the playoffs.

Willie Randolph is a terrible manager.

Omar Minaya is not as good as people make him out to be.

Discuss, Mets fans.

Im a Mets fan myself, thats just how I feel about the team.

Willie Randolph made several bad moves including using Feliciano for one batter and not dealing with Jenkins apporpriately.

And then we have Omar Minaya, who has traded or signed such gems as Carlos cant field a bunt Delgado, Guillermo I have a cool name but I cant pitch since Im off steroids but I got a 2 year contract anyway lolz Mota, or Luis I cant put a ball into the outfield Castillo. And dont even get me started on Moises I take fly balls away from the center fielder after missing 3 months Alou.

The Mets are a team playing with no heart and they have only one player that can drive in runs.

My dad and I were saying pretty much the exact same stuff tonight and have been for a while (actually, my dad more than myself). I don't mind the Castillo move much, but everything else I agree with. The Mets just seem too goddamn complacent.

I don't think anyone will disagree with you that we're not as good as the team last year. It's kind of strange though, because I think this team is better. They just don't seem to have the same hunger. Bitch all you want about Mota or Moises, but give credit to Omar for what he's done.

He even did it by getting rid of turds like Kaz, Julio, Benson etc. Sure, our guys have gotten injured, but it's not like the guy has a crystal ball and can predict when shit like that will happen.

what a crazy **** this guy was :lol

He was an asshole, a racist, and a wifebeater.

...but good god, could he hit a baseball.

That said, what is with the great hitters and their propensity to either be weird (like Wade Boggs) or assholes (like Pete Rose)?

JETER FUTURE ASSHOLE CONFIRMED

"Jeter" and "asshole" in the same sentence....you just made every yankee fan that reads this thread erect.

Failed Trades
Let's take a look at some deals that almost happened yesterday.

Kyle Farnsworth for Bob Wickman. This would've been fun, reunions with former teams for both players. However, the Braves wanted the Yankees to pick up all of Farnsworth's salary, apparently. Brian Cashman didn't want to make him go away that badly, and Wickman would probably be a nonfactor back in the AL.

Mariners acquire Mark Loretta. Eh. Let's not overstate the abilities of Loretta. It sounds like Tim Purpura wanted some kind of legitimate prospect for him.

Rockies send Jeff Baker and others to Tampa Bay for Dan Wheeler. We can't really evaluate this one without knowing who else would've been involved. And the Rays don't really have a place to play Baker; they're already squeezed finding playing time for Jonny Gomes. If Rocco Baldelli ever gets healthy they'll really have a pickle. I mentioned in a recent interview at D-Rays Bay - Wheeler would probably be one of the ten best relievers available if he was a free agent after the season. The Rays can pump up his value and get a promising young pitcher next year, as the Royals did with Octavio Dotel.

Brewers send Tony Gwynn Jr., Zach Jackson, and another minor league for Eric Gagne. This could've been the difference-maker that Scott Linebrink ain't in a tight NL Central race. But it doesn't seem like Doug Melvin got a chance to counter the Red Sox offer, so you can't really fault him.

Red Sox send Wily Mo Pena and Craig Hansen to White Sox for Jermaine Dye. Well, there has to be some statistical way to evaluate whether this pair beats two draft picks. You'd have to know the attrition rates of first/second rounders, and get some scouts on Pena and Hansen to see if they can ever reach their potential. If I was the Kenny Williams I probably would've made the deal. I think Pena gets docked in value from where he was two years ago, but still has pretty much the same upside if you manage him right. Who knows, maybe Williams will go after Pena again this winter.

Dodgers suck, That is all.

What a waste of a another great Penny outing and a good buzz. Saenz needs to go choke on a donut somewhere fast. Kemp sucks balls! Come back KENT! Bah, He probably wont be the same after his injury anyways. =C

Yeah, the offense been slumping. Hopefully Mueller can correct the problem. Also Martin should move back a couple of spots in the batting lineup.

But if you move Martin back then Littlemind will shove Gonezo or Nomore in to that spot. Littlemind needs to break up Furcal and Pierre, The whole double leadoff guy just doesn't work often enough. After a 3 good weeks in July Pierre is back to his shitty self again going 3 for 25 from the start of the road trip through yesterday. That shit ain't gonna get it done!

EDIT: Still I can now see why the Dodgers didn't pick anyone up at the trade deadline. Wolf has been shutdown for another month and possible done for the year. If Lowe's hip irritation doesn't feel better during todays bullpen session then he will require season ending surgery. Dodgers are snakebit this year.

I guess they just need to work it out because its not just one guy struggling it the entire team.

WOW I did not see this coming

JULIO FRANCO designated for assignment. Braves could bring him back in September if no teams claim him. They’d assign him to a minor league position, player or player/coach perhaps, then bring him back when rosters are expanded.

JOSE ASCANIO optioned to Double-A Mississippi.

edit: better link

Ozzie talking about removing Contreras from the rotation before his next start. Thank ****ing god.

Haegar or Floyd would replace. Since both will probably get rocked, I hope it's Haegar.

What the hell will they do with Contreras? Leave him at the Cubs' doorstop like some abandoned orphan?

I totally called Franco being DFA'd. Not that I'm happy about it, but it was a pretty obvious conclusion.

If Cashman cheaps out on Santana, fire. his. ass..

HE wants out of Trashbagdome.
If Santana is ever a Yankee, I'll probably open a vein.

Payroll is increasing, we need to keep him. He's just frustrated.
Please make some goddamn moves, Terry Ryan.

Nah I'll just enjoy my nice healthy serving of SHELLEY DUNCAN, thank you very much :)
Three true outcomes =(

The Nationals put a big shift on Adam Dunn where the 3b moves to the SS position and the SS moves behind the 2nd base bag, Brandon Phillips just stole second and third on the dead run because the 3B came over to take the throw and no one was at third base so he beat him there :lol It was so odd to see someone just round second base on a steal. They are trying to figure out if he gets two steals on it.
