We would have won that game if our bullpen didn't shit the bed. Again.

EDIT - Why is an Indians fan rooting against the Mets?

Too little, too late.

Our pitching is fucking atrocious.

Yeah, I just cant understand how it happened. All year long pitching, especially the starting kind, was the Mest best asset. Now were giving up 10 runs to the Nationals.

Correction: 23 runs in 2 games to the Nationals.

What

fuck

Although the list would be nigh infinite, I would like to see a list of under .270 hitters (basically the entire Nats team) that suddenly turn into Ted Williamses against the Mets.

Oh well, at least I have the Rays to fall back on. Come on D Public Enemy Number Young.

I love watching MacDougal pitch for the White Sox. It's like a train wreck everytime he takes the mound.

The guy used to be so good just a few years ago.

Oh god, I'm so sorry.

(I have the Marlins to fall back on, so I feel your pain.)

Dont worry too much. The Mets are my primary team, but I enjoy watching the Rays because of their youth and potential. And because Scott Kazmir is awesome.

Gotta love the DRays, taking equally from both the Red Sox and the Yankees. :D

Glad to see Manny back in the lineup, and Schilling finally getting the run support he needed for a win. (Should have had about 3-4 more wins easy this season, but the runs just weren't there.)

As much as this season has sucked lately, the true emergence of James Loney is a sight to behold. And Chin-Lung Hu = future balla. Seriously, we have sooo much young talent. If we could just get rid of some of these shitty, overpriced veterans and get another pitcher or two.. :(

Let see if Shmidt can come back, if he does Dodgers has a chance, if not! like you said we need a proven pitcher but they have to give up some of the young talent for that.

Edit: LOL Giants. Pads lead.

Vin Scully: Hu's on 1st BITCHES!!!!

Dang, Guess Little is just gonna wave the white flag against the Rockies.
Blowberto is in!!!

I hope so but I fear that we will see Nomore Hahm starting at 3rd base next year. Who knows who will start at 2nd but I hope Jeff Kent is gone far far far away. Management just don't seem to enthused on handing over the every day 2nd and 3rd base jobs to 2 rookies. Then they will also have Ethier and Delwyn Young fighting for LF if they don't decide on bringing in another Gonzo. Basically the only veteran on the field would be Furcal SS and Pierre CF.

What the hell Marcum had knee surgery. How did I miss this? It's kind of funny as the guy everyone was concerned was going to get injured, Thomas, has been healthy all year and pretty much every other player other than Hill and Rios have been injured.

HOLY SHIT DID WE REALLY USE JEFF KARSTENS IN A TIE GAME IN SUDDEN DEATH.

FIRE TORRE; THAT IS UNEQUIVOCABLY WRONG.

There is literally no circumstance on Earth in which that is the right thing to do. That game needed to be held tied as long as possible. They used up their closer. We had our best reliever available. How did Mariano Rivera *not* pitch the 10th?

Unless some kind of wierd statistical improbability happens ... The AL playoffs look like this:

Cle v NYY
LAA v BOS

I would imagine even best record won't matter anymore. Because Cleveland wants the longer series and Boston will want the shorter one

Wouldn't Cleveland want the shorter series?

In a short series, Sabathia and Carmona could conceivably pitch 4 of the 5 possible games if necessary, right?

No .. the LONGER series means there is more days of rest, so that your 1 & 2 pitcher can pitch on full rest.

The shorter series means you will need to pitch your 1/2/3/4 and then bring back your #1 for the last game.

Series A:
Thurs Oct 4th: Game One
Fri Oct 5th: Game Two
Sun Oct 7th: Game Three
Mon Oct 8th: Game Four
Wed Oct 10th: Game Five

Series B:
Wed Oct 3rd: Game One
Fri Oct 5th: Game Two
Sun Oct 7th: Game Three
Mon Oct 8th: Game Four
Wed Oct 10th: Game Five

See .. in Series B you can pitch your #1 in games 1 and 4 and your #2 on games 2 and 5 on full rest.

But really, with that first series you could do the same thing except your number one will only get 4 days of rest. Which really isn't THAT big of a deal (guys often pitch on three days rest late in the season).

The Yankees and the Red Sox both generally have problems with the Angels. As a Yankee fan I'd be a lot more comfortable with the Red Sox eliminating the Angels, and having the Yankees, Red Sox series later in the playoffs.

Chill out. I don't get why any Yankee fans are upset that he didn't use Mo. Who the fuck cares if they lose the game? Right now they are lined up to play the Indians in the playoffs and I'd take them over the Angels (who we would most likely play if we won the division). The only thing winning the division would do would be to stick it to the Red Sox fans and yeah it would be nice to do that but it would be better to stick it to them by winning the World Series this year rather than winning the division and losing to the Angels in the first round AGAIN.

Mo and Joba are the only good players in the pen so unless we need to win a game or give them normal work they should not be in. There is no need win situation yet and I'd be fucking pissed if Mo or Joba got hurt or had a tired arm because we tried to win a semi meaningless game against the Devil Rays.

Right now the offense needs to be carrying the team and getting the job done. They didn't so the Yankees lost.

So, I guess they are officially dropping the "Devil" from the name. I remember them saying something about that a year or two back, but I thought it was gonna be more of an informal thing.

Tampa Bay Rays
-Contraction
Fixed. Thanks for choking vs. the Yanks earlier in the year, you bums. Now can you see if you can at least force the Yanks to head to Baltimore?

Oh yeah mcblack, is it normal when you team is on the verge of clinching to go in full Yankee rant mode for not using a reliever when your magic number is 1? It's the frickin' Devil Rays!!

I repeat, the frickin' Devil Rays!!!!

Yes.

Torre's an idiot for basically throwing the game away when we could clinch.

And again, :lol @ you...last day!
Not quite, ye of no reading comprehension. Read the stipulations of the bet . . . you know, the one you ran away from like Mota from a pissed-off Mike Piazza?

Whoever loses is banned effective October 1. Thank you, try again

rays new logo looks like a logo for a seafood restaurant named Ray's.

mike winters was suspended for cursing at bradley. the umpiring alllll year allll over MLB has been god fucking awful. so many terrible calls, so many times umps trying to be apart of the game yelling at managers and tossing people for next to nothing. it's been bullshit all year long, i hope it gets fixed.

They should just install Questtec machines in every ballpark. Ever since they have installed them in at Jacobs Field, you rarely see any arguements over balls and strikes. The umps keep smaller strike zones and are consistent with it on both sides. Pitchers that nibble end up getting destroyed .. but overall its an improvement to the game.

First I've seen of Humber tonight. Its nice to see a hyped up rookie pitcher who has more than just a fastball in his arsenal. His curve and change up look pretty good.

Back 2 Back Jacks.

Alooooooooou(30 game hitting streak for the old dude.)
:lol

:lol :lol at Victor Zambrano. What a pathetic first inning. 2/3rds of an inning, 4 hits, 3 bbs, 8 earned runs.
