It's not Willies fault. If I have a beef with anyone it's Omar. He traded away Bannister, and we basically got Gotay in exchange. Bannister had a good season this year, and he's playing on a bad team. Why trade a starting pitcher when that was our biggest question mark going into the season? Omar got credit for the bullpen when it did well, he should get the blame now when it's absolute shit.

We bring in Henderson, which was Omar's move, and Reyes has gone down the shitter since that point. He gets picked off on bases, does retarded things on the base pads, steals at inopportune times and just lacks the common sense he had before Henderson arrived. Get Henderson off first base, hide him in the clubhouse with a deck of cards.

Willie can't pitch, he's not the reason we're losing. You have Bernazard running his mouth in the papers. You have stories being spread about a rift between Omar and Willie. Fred Wilpon is running his mouth. Obviously it was Willie who signed guys like Mota instead of keeping a reliable arm like Bradford. Willie can't do it all, he makes mistakes like all managers but he's not the reason we're losing.

Pretty much. I honestly think that the only way that the Mets are going to win a game is if they get a lead of at least 20 runs at this point.

Joe Girardi is too good for the Mets.

Willie Randolph isn't the problem - the players are. Mota, Sanchez, Feliciano, Smith, Green, et al.

Wrong.
When you see the game slipping away and Willie does what I like to call his 911 George Bush routine, where he just sits there in a boxed stare when seeing disaster hit, well you know you have a bad manager. The guy is about as motivational as Michael Vic at an animation rights convention.

Willie is another Art Howe when it comes to lighting a fire under this team's ass.
The only thing good to come of us all is he'll be dismissed soon enough.

LJ11-you make good points. But honestly-if the manager can't get the team to play atleast .500 ball without getting swept twice by the nationals(within a week no less) then who
s fault is it? A good Peniela tirade would do wonders. Maybe it would bring the team out of its sleep like state. Because right now they can't hit for shit in clutch situations at the end of these games, and the team''s pitching keeps giving up leads. Not just simple one run leads but fucking 3 and 4 run leads with a few innings to go before the game is over. Simply unacceptable:/

It's panic like this that tells me I don't think you remember just how infuriatingly BAD Art Howe was. Why should a veteran team need their fire lit? They didn't need it pre-August, this one's on the guys. Willie likes to treat his players like men a.k.a they should actually man up and perform. Dallas Green was a GREAT motivator when he managed the Mets. He also stank too and ran Jeromy Burnitz outta town.

I agree about Bannister but only in the sense Mets should've gotten more. Bannister was dead weight and didn't fill a need. And from my knowledge Mota was Omar's decision, not Willie's.

Again I bring up the spring training injuries of Sanchez, Padilla, and Burgos's ineffectiveness as definitely not helping the cause. Plus the pen is dead -- Mets have 3 pitchers not including Joe Smith who have already eclipsed their career highs in IPs. When your starters can't even go 6 (like Humber today) that's a problem.

This man is the thing that stands between the Mets and Phillies being tied tomorrow night.
And Frankman-Art Howe was a rotten manager but Willie is showing just how bad he can be as well. Plus Art Howe never had the Mets loose a N.L. East title like were about to do. I really have no faith in this team right now. If this comes to pass then that in itself will be worse than anything Howe did with his time with the Mets.

John Smoltz is pretty much our savior, bleh.

Welcome to my world 1996-1998.

Hey Angelus the Mets have the makeup tomorrow vs. the Cards. Maybe the Mets can win!!

...or maybe I should start Photoshopping that PsyMets bullpen image.

I haven't looked at the numbers, but last year we won a ton of one run or two run games. This year the shoe is on the other foot, we're losing those games. I wish Willie would get more fired up as well, but it's not his personality. Six runs should be enough for most teams, we shouldn't have to score 10 runs every night just to squeak out a W. There's plenty of blame to go around, but Willie shouldn't take the brunt of it.

Yeah Mota was on Omar, I was just trying a little sarcasm.

Guitar Hero 2 has been my Jack Daniels of late after Mets games.
I have Halo3 laying on my shelf but have no desire to play it just yet since the damn game still pisses me off.

Y'know I should be more worried but I'm not because I've seen it too many times, but then it's the Braves beating us or something. But I feel the Mets are just too good now in talent and mindset compared to 10 years ago to blow it. Call me crazy but I just have that feeling...

EDIT: I either will try Guild Wars/Persona 3 or watch some Avatar Season 2/Elemental Gelade. I need something to stop the pain.

EDIT 2: There is a whole lot of Mets sad on this page.

I'm taking the day off from work to watch the game. I dunno-Larussa managing vs. willie managing....:lol

Ok I've said enough. Now that I got all that junk out of my system its time to go back and support this team. Its definitely the worst shit to hit this team in years, but if we can weather this nightmare then it will only make us a stronger team through adversity.

Tomorrow I'm gonna just relax, take off my shoes when its game time, and drink lots of alcohol to cushion the drama.
:D

:lol

Yeah, but didn't I also say that after their 2005 start I would never count them out?

Also, one more BoSox win or Yank loss and the Braves record of 14 consecutive Division title will virtually be guaranteed to remain intact forever. That's all I really care about.

Honestly, even when the Mets were doing great last year, Willie never impressed me, especially with his fucking awful bullpen management. At this point, it's not his fault, as EVERY GUY in the bullpen is erratic. I'm not quite sure if Willie needs to go if the Mets don't make the playoffs, I was just saying that if that situation arose, I would most like to see Girardi fill that role.

I'm just completely frustrated, mystified, and terrified right now. I can't believe this shit is happening. I really thought Glavine would step it up yesterday, but no. And then today was going alright until...well yea. We gave up 32 runs to the Nationals in a 3 game series. The lowest scoring team in the NL...which I'm not sure if they even are anymore after this debacle.

Even Halo 3 can't cheer me up really.

(But TF2 can)

That's why I'm so passionate about playing. I don't mind them comparing me, but I'm totally a different player," said Prince Fielder, who hopes to hit 52 homers this season to beat his father's best mark of 51 (1990), and "shut him up." Wow. "Hopefully one day, whenever they mention my name, they won't have to mention his," said Prince, who had a two-run homer in the first and a two-run homer in the seventh, surpassing Willie Mays as the youngest to hit 50. Mays was 24 years, 137 days old when he hit his 50th home run in 1955, according to the Elias Sports Bureau. Fielder is 23 years, 139 days old. Anyway, the Cubs lost to the Marlins and Dontrelle Willis on Tuesday, 4-2. But there's no curse. Nope.

Oh well, it was fun while it lasted, but realistically we weren't gonna win out and have the Pads, Phils, AND Rockies lose enough for us to sneak in.

Still, we've done ourselves a damn good solid with the way we've played the past couple weeks. Next season is gonna be all about redemption and ass kicking with a full season of Tex and hopefully another pitcher or two.

My only salvation for this season lies in hoping that the Mets continue to collapse and the Phils take the division. It's gonna suck; hope both the Phils and Mets lose tonight, though. Can't root against Smoltzie.

Also, lookin' good over in the AL East. Hope the Red Sox win the division so that the Braves division title streak stays alive. Also, why isn't Franklady banned yet? Although if the Mets lose out it might be more fun to have him around.

For the remainder of the regular season, I am a Mets fan.

I don't want them to collapse in all-time fashion. That would make things miserable in the city.

Not for me, though; we already made it in. :lol

There going to lose out because Mets fucking suck worst pitching of all time, and offense shits the bed. But all is not lost here Braves aren't going to make it in for the second year in a row.

You people aren't ready.

Are you really going to defeat the lighter, more powerful KID WONDERFUL?
Prediction: 46 HR, 130 RBI, .300+ avg, .400+ OBP, AL MVP, AL GG @ 3B.

Are you really going to defeat the best SS in the AL?
Prediction: 19 HR, 96 RBI, .300+ avg, .370+ OBP, AL GG @ SS.

Are you really going to defeat the best 2B in the AL?
Prediction: 23 HR, 92 RBI, .320+ avg, .370+ OBP, AL GG @ 2B.

Can you honestly survive a consistently healthy GIAMBEAST?
Prediction: 40 HR, 120 RBI, .280+ avg, .420+ OBP, top 10 MVP candidate.

Will you be able to withstand the balanced outfield of Matsui, Damon and Abreu - and with Melky holding it down regularly?
Matsui: 23 HR, 110 RBI, .300+ avg, .370+ OBP
Damon: 18 HR, 90 RBI, .300+ avg, .360+ OBP
Abreu: 27 HR, 100 RBI, .280+ avg, .400+ OBP
Melky: 12 HR, 40+ RBI, .280+ avg, 400 ABs, AL leader in OF assists from LF

Are you actually going to fsck with secret weapon Posada?
Prediction: 24 HR, 80 RBI, .270+ avg, .370+ OBP, AL GG @ C

Even our 1B will destroy non-believers out of nowhere!
Josh Phelps prediction: 16 HR, 70 RBI, .260+ avg
Doug Qwertyuiopasdfghjklzxcvbnm prediction: 7HR, 40 RBI, .350+ OBP, GG-caliber D @ 1B

Our rotation is concrete; Moose and Wang'll go for 18 wins, Andy'll go for 17, Pavano'll get 15, and Igawa will get 14 (and more than Matsuzaka, at that :-O)
Our bullpen is filled with people who hate you and want you to die; Proctor/Bruney for 7th, Farnsworth for the 8th, and Mariano with unhittable changeup for 9th.

Yanks repeat as AL East Champs, going away.
Yanks win their 27th championship.
God smiles.

So this was my prediction earlier.

Matsui was on point. Melky and Cano were close. A-Rod was better than I even imagined. Posada was on point. Abreu, Giambi, Damon and Jeter were way under what I predicted (at least Abreu came sort of close except for the HRs). Josh Phelps was :lol. Dougie Alphabet was on point. Wang was on point. Moose disappointed. Andy could've had 17 wins if the team didn't fuck him in the first half :(
Pavano was Pavano - AGAIN. Igawa was :lol.

Proctor is no longer employed by the Yanks, but he was decent when he was there. Bruney disappointed. Farnsworth was :lol. Mariano was Mariano, but for the first time you can tell he's not exactly what he was; he's REALLY got to start using that change - if only once or twice randomly - to make people be honest with the cutter again.

Yankees didn't take the Division, and likely won't (though they made it close when no one believed they would).

lol @ this prediction. lol @ everyone else's, too. Baseball is hilarious. :lol

Joe Borowski blew his second save in as many nights.

:(

He has the highest leverage index on the season. This guy gets placed into situations tougher than what Putz and Papelbon have to face and he's nowhere near as good. I like the Indians but a first round exit shouldn't be hard to predict.

Yea, all the Indians fans are like captives in an airplane that just lost it's wings. We all know how its going to end .. yet we can't seem to stop it.

The best case scenerio for us would be to win 3 games where a closer is not needed (keep in mind this team has only 25 blowout wins all season).

Or, Borowski flames out in the very first game and we can switch off to Betancourt for the remainder of the series. With the rise of Jensen Lewis as a viable bullpen guy, this is now feasible.

Think positive. Last time we got in as a wild-card was 1997. We all know who took us out then.

Just ordered this shirt for the playoffs, all Red Sox fans and anti-yankee fans owe it to themselves...owe it to America to own this shirt.

That shirt really makes no sense. The all time winning franchise is hated by Jesus. Wouldn't he hate the Cubs or Devil Rays or somebody like that?

It reminds me of the stupid ass Red Sox shirt from after the 2004 World Series that said "Good always triumphs over evil". Yeah because the Red Sox have always had great success against the Yankees before 2004.

Who fucking cares? It's a t shirt. Most novelty t shirts have dumb shit on them.

That's the whole point. I guess if it read "No matter what, good always triumphs over evil" it would have been clearer.
