No he's sucking off Nash on tv :lol

The best part of all this is how the Lakers had a chance to take Leandro Barbosa in the draft.

In fact, Ron Harper scouted him and advised the organization to take him.

Who did the Lakers draft instead?

OMFG I did not know that. Jesus Christ that's as bad as Texans picking Mario over Bush.

Yea, but Barbosa benefited highly from D'Antoni's system and Steve Nash being around to teach him a few things. I honestly believe Barbosa wouldn't be as good as he is right now if he was on another team.

You can't teach quick.

lol.

Quickness isn't what basketball is all about.

It reminds of this article I read in the ROY discussion, where one writer said that Tyrus Thomas should be considered ROY because he is a better athlete than Brandon Roy.

Apparently athleticism means you are a better basketball player, right?

Barbosa was very raw when he first came out. Not that i still wouldn't want him over Cook, but you can't project how guys will develop from one team to another.

Barbosa blowing by defenders and getting uncontested lay-ups all season long says otherwise.

I think he would thrive wherever he goes.

But yes, I wil agree that D'Antoni's system does help.

It's hard saying "we should have picked this guy over this guy" when they are both in the 2nd round. Monta Ellis was probably the 3rd best guard in his draft, but he fell to the 2nd (Chris Paul, Deron Williams).

Ok. Mitch Richmond scouted Monta Ellis and told the Warriors, "We need to get Monta Ellis."

Do you know who the Warriors took?

Did you watch Barbosa play when he came to the league? He was (as someone else said) very raw, and some pundits (not me) even called him a bust by after his second year.

The only thing I said originally was the Lakers were advised to take Barbosa and they passed for Cook.

Yea. And 12 teams picked somebody else over Kobe Bryant and Steve Nash in the draft in 1996.

Good point, but kinda weird to pick the most stacked draft ever, where there could be some argument(ala if Philly could go back would they have took AI or Kobe?). I would've said 30 teams picked somebody else over Arenas in'01 is probably the best example.

actually i believe parker was the last pick of the first round

still though....pretty funny how that worked out :D

edit: BEATEN!

Toronto just giving up or what? Looks like it from the boxscore. I'm all for favorites getting trampled, but not when it's the poor Raptors.

Raptors are officially the shittiest team in the playoffs. Yup. Even the B and C squads from Washington are playing better. Is it too late to take Sam Mitchell's COTY trophy back?
