And if someone like Farmer can do that, imagine what a good point guard like Tony Parker or AI is going to do to him?

Nash doesn't guard either of those guys when the Suns play those teams. He'll be on Bowen/Blake. He's frikken pathetic...

Well, the Mavs made sure GS got into the playoffs instead of the Clippers when they intentionally lost to GS in their 2nd to the last regular season game.
Now that is ironic. :lol

We weren't going to lose that game.

It's good coaching. He can't guard the slashers, so he is put on the Bowen/Blakes. They sit out on the 3 point lne mostly. Good job coach, know your players! :)

No summer vacation: Wade reportedly to have surgery.

Updated: April 30, 2007, 11:32 AM ET

Miami Heat star Dwyane Wade's summer plans now apparently include surgery, according to a published report.

"My plan is, right now, it's surgery, so I can't say what I'm going to do with [Team USA]," Wade told the Miami Herald. "My main thing, for me, is health, and it's for my team more so than anything."

The impending surgery puts in doubt Wade's future playing for Team USA this summer. The recovery time from the surgery is between four and six months, according to the newspaper.

Wade, who dislocated his shoulder and tore his labrum on Feb. 21, opted for rehab instead of surgery so he could return for the playoffs. The Chicago Bulls ended Miami's season Sunday by sweeping the Heat out of the first round of the NBA playoffs.

Wade's shoulder isn't his only problem. The Heat guard told the newspaper that he'll also have an MRI on his left knee to check for injuries other than tendinitis.

It's gonna be a rough offseason for Dwyane. He's banged up, injured, and bruised. Team USA can go F themselves. REST UP FLASH, WE'RE PRAYIN FOR YA

The 2007 - 2008 season is going to be the start a new era for the Miami Heat. I can feel it. We're gonna be hungry, we're going to be savages. Plus, with the emergence of Dorell Wright the trifecta of greatness will be complete.

Diesel, Flash, and the Wrighteous One.

07 - 08 CHAMPS!

They could have let the Clipps win though. What a gutless move. They were hoping the Lakers fell to 8th :lol

It's still pathetic that a 2-time MVP won't even accept the challenge to defend his position...

The Playoff's...as usual.

Dirk has had 3 bad series(including this one) since like 2001. He has always put up better numbers in the playoffs than in the regular season.

With that said, he really picked the perfect time to shit the bed.

And :lol at those thinking the mavs intentionally lost the game to GS. They wouldn't have won that game in Oakland anyway. The mavs played heavy minutes against the Spurs the game before, so Avery wanted to rest them extra.

The Clippers ****ed up their chance losing to the Kings at home.

I want the Dirk of the Grizz, Spurs, and Suns series last year to come back. Or the Dirk where he averaged like 35 and 15 against KG.

Also, the Mavs offense is hopeless. Avery is clueless on how to run an offense and get a basket when you truly need it. Avery is clueless on defense too. The mavs also need a true point guard who is a good passer. The mavs also have no depth. Greg Bucker, Austin Croshere, or Devean George have contributed NOTHING to the team.

24 better be AMAZING to make up for this weekend.

But then all the starters for the Mavs played their minutes in their final regular season game, after "resting" for the GS game. So the excuse they wanted to rest their players before the playoffs doesn't work. Not to mention the hugs and sweet words Avery gave Nelson that game. :D

Agree 100% there.

This once again proves that when it comes down to big time playoff scenarios, the Dirk-Man have choketh. Sure, he plays well in other series. But in games they SHOULD be winning. Up 2-0 in the Finals, 1 seed vs. lowly 8 seed (not that the Warriors are lowly. They are proving to be anything but), this man chokes like the best of them.

Dirk is the A-Rod of the NBA.

I can't wait to see him crash and burn and get knocked out of the 1st round. Then maybe he'll cry as loud as he did after the Finals and I can continue be entertained even after their defeat.

When the mavs got 1st seed, Avery announced a plan. Seattle was the last game of the season. He said that the mavs would rest starters on and off, but they would use Seattle as a "dress rehearsal". That's why they played in the Seattle game.

I want to see if Nash gets this kind of hate after the Spurs send him and his MVP trophies home.

A lot of people sure hate a team that's never won anything.

Is there any other case where a winless team has so much hate?
Dallas teams in general get a TON of hate. The media and sports fans just have a hard-on for us in general. My convos with Eagles fans rarely end without violence.

At least the Eagles have a legit excuse for loathing the cowboys.

I think the #1 Dallas hater is Skip Bayless. That's what makes all the latest Dallas chokejobs even worse. With Bayless as a hater, we should be winning titles.

Probably the top reason why the Mavs get so much hate is that they all love talking crap, starting with Mark Cuban, when they have done absolutely nothing. Just like the Suns.

Crazed.

BTW, I wouldn't mind having Cuban be the owner of the Warriors.

At least everyone knows Bayless is a moron. Ive never met a single person who didnt hate him (even Eagles fans haha). I just ignore Skip, no one watches cold pizza anyway.

Cuban is an acceptable reason. I hate him too. But I don't think anyone else on the mavs talks shit.
People like Dirk and Avery are not the case, but morons like Stackhouse(especially), Terry and Dampier plus many, many fans(not here in GAF, mind you) love talking shit as if everyone should fear them.

Yeah. Terry does talk too much, and Stack is a moron (as seen by that pass above).

You keep making the case for Kobe to NOT be on the all-defensive team THIS YEAR. He has barely played average defense this year, and during his scoring spurts (which is about half the season) he went to below-average defense. Yet, what happens at the end of the year? Kobe is on the 1st team All-Defense again, even though anyone with a pulse and NBA League Pass can see he wouldn't even deserve to be on the 3rd or 4th team THIS YEAR.

You guys keep saying Nash winning back-to-back MVPs taints the award, yet heres Kobe not playing defense for an entire season and he's on the 1st team All-Defense.

I agree a 100%. When I saw that on ESPN's ticker last night I thought it was a really bad selection.

Stop trying to konex us. Spurs still have to win two more.

If the Mavs go down (an increasingly likely scenario) the Spurs are the team I want to see come out of the west. I hate that geriatric team but at the end of the day I respect their top notch international scouting system (even if it gave us the Mahdi of international softies, Manu) and their ability to be relevant for a long time because of it. It doesn't hurt that they play fundamentally sound ball on both sides of the court, either.

If the Euroleaguers win it will be a win for apartheid. (Steve Nash likes to pretend he's Canadian but I know the score.)

You're so bitter, man- look on the bright side, not many teams can boast they were bested twice by an infallible and unwavering leader and two time MVP. You should feel proud, or something. Hell, you should feel privileged to witness Nash continually grace the lakers with his perennial MVP'esque first round tbag.

Lord knows I never want to be on the same side as Skip Bayless on anything, but...
