Utah is going to make most of those shots at home.

Still gotta favor the Spurs.

If the Jazz can withstand the pressure they match up well enough to make it a good series.
 
Well, I just saw the 1st half and it was some great basketball by the Spurs. I expected a drop in performance in the 2nd half, mostly because of the short turnaround from such an intense series, but happily they were able to close it out.

Still, Utah is a damn tough matchup for the Spurs. SA really needs to find a way to cut down on their rebounding because it can hurt us big time.

No, they actually played really well, and they were impressive to watch. Utah on the other hand was as boring as they were in our series.

All those cuts to the basket you guys were doing, was straight killing Utah's interior defense.
 
Once again, I compare the Spurs to a ruthless killing machine.

Sure, there is some emotion, but it was mostly cold-hearted killing. The second half was pretty much domination. The late run by the Jazz made it a bit more interesting, but no one in their right mind thought "well the Spurs will blow this."

Dudes are sound and unstoppable when they get any kind of a decent lead. Not the most exciting team for sure, but they ****ing play.
 
Having a guy like Manu come off the bench is ****ing awesome. He's a starter on any other team in the league (and probably would be on the Spurs if Tim Duncan wasn't such a beast), so whenever the dude comes in he's usually the best ****ing player on the floor. Bastards.
 
Since this series is over, we might as well begin to look ahead to the Spurs/Pistons matchup. How do you guys feel the Pistons will match up against the Spurs without Big Ben? Webber gives them 5 starts who are more than capible of scoring in double digits, which is something the Spurs lack. But without Wallace roaming the paint, will the Spurs be able to score easier than last time? I say yes.

Spurs win the championship in 6. Webber is going to disappear most likely, just watch

IF(and honestly I think it will happen) it's the Spurs/Pistons in the Finals, I think the Pistons will actually be better than they were the last time they met in the Finals. Yeah, they won't have Big Ben to contest as many shots, but also they won't have him bogging down the offense and being a liability from the free throw line the crunch time. I think the key matchup will be Sheed and Duncan. If Sheed can stay out of foul trouble, I don't see them doubling up Duncan and leaving the perimeter shooters on the Spurs to kill them.

You also forgot no Larry Brown. Other than that Spurs in 6 with Duncan getting his 4th ring.
 
I still don't get why Horry thinks that is an acceptable hard foul. Nobody else shoulder checks dudes in the backcourt in intentional foul situations. There were plenty at the end of the piston/bulls game 6 and alot last night in the final minutes. Nobody gave a hard foul in the backcourt, they just wrapped arms around for the foul. How come nobody gave parker or somebody a hard intentional foul at the end? Sloan is no stranger to hard fouls or dirty play. You know why? Nobody gives a hard "playoff" foul in the backcourt trying to get the intentional. O wells.

Hards fouls come when you are going to the basket, or trying to steal the ball.

Just watched the game on tivo. Spurs played a really good game. Jazz looked like they got their groove back in the 4th. Hopefully game 2 will be better for them and they won't fall behind so much.

Seriously Ancient, as a Pistons fans, how can you deny that it's much more enjoyable to watch your team's complete game than watching a team that plays zero defense, takes ill advise shots at any point during the game and has no kind of inside presence?

You know the Pistons or Spurs would probably sweep a series against the Warriors? Is that supposed to be entertaining for basketball fans?Maybe you just wanted a much easier opponent for your team. ;-)

Oh and as a Pistons fan. Playing the Spurs will make it a lot more interesting instead of sweeping some bullshit team that isn't complete.

For a short while last year, the Pistons were playing a more uptempo game and they were more enjoyable to watch for it. It wasn't the type of game they excelled at, but it was more entertaining to me.

I watched probably 15-20 Pistons games this past season, and unless the opponent was a marquee team, the games were pretty dull. Sure, they generally played with good fundamentals, but if I wanted to see that I'd watch the WNBA.

I've always found the Suns to be a fun team and they were a good counterbalance to my duller, home-team Pistons. It's not about having an easier opponent. I'd rather see the Suns/Bulls than the Pistons/Spurs. You can say I lack appreciation for the sport, but i find high tempo albeit sloppy basketball to be generally more entertaining and exciting than fundamentally sound, slowball.

There were a lot of "bandwagon" Warriors fans these playoffs - but I don't believe it was a product of hatred towards the Mavs (who I also enjoy) or the Jazz (who I find semi-interesting). Rather, I think it was a result of a hungry, underdog team who played their asses off with exciting smallball.

Though, I admit the most exciting matchup left in these playoffs is the Pistons/Spurs. Leboring James and Carlos Snoozer don't really evoke any kind of emotion from me...and that's bad. At least I HATE the Spurs and love the Pistons...so, that's the matchup I want the most at this point.
 
Yeah, I guess it's just a matter of tastes. I do enjoy small ball and uptempo basketball, but in small doses, because to me watching a team like the Warriors and all of their offensive chaos many times gets boring. Especially when shots stop falling and they can't play a lick of defense when they need a few stops. And defense is a part of the game I love.

I love seeing teams that are always in control and know exactly what they're supposed to do on both ends of the floor. Which is why another Spurs-Pistons finals sounds lovely to me. :D

But yeah, Spurs/Pistons series has always been fun.
 
I wasn't aware that Flip reverted back to Larry Brown's style, I still enjoy the Pistons enough to want them in the finals over everyone in the east but the Bulls and Nets. The team that chopped down the Lakers was an inspiration.

No more of this "no defense" BS. The Suns were statistically mediocre at D, which is above average considering the tempo they pushed. GS was one of the most fun teams I've seen BECAUSE of their D. They started those fast breaks by just swatting and intercepting balls all day and I hope that comes back next year.

Same here, thank you very much. It was a fleeting love, but they were a lot of fun to watch. My interest in the playoffs has been stifled greatly by the elimination of the Warriors (and Suns).
 
I just like Stephen Jackson.

Or as the vernacular goes, JAXXXXXXXXXXXXX. Although Baron Davis won me over in the playoffs with some sick plays.
 
Watching the draft lottery and seeing the disappointment in some of the general managers faces as their teams are revealed to be selecting unexpectedly late, is pure ****ing gold.

I guess the fans in San Antonio don't enjoy Spurs basketball as much as you since the game didn't even ****ing sell out. :lol

Don't get upset. It's not like I'm lying about the Warriors. They still are an entertaining bunch, but they don't play anywhere near championship quality basketball like the Spurs and Pistons have for years. Shockingly, that's the basketball I like to watch. :D

As for the attendance, I don't give a crap 500 seats weren't sold. First time in the AT&T Center playoffs history that a game doesn't sell out. OH NOES!!! Spurs fans are abandoning the team because they win too much!!!

When you start doing that you know there's some kind of jealousy around. I mean, a team's followers? :lol

haha, nah i'm over it already. Bati was calling us Warrior's fans out though, so I had to say something, even though he is right (sort of). The Warriors do play a frantic game, it's also 100 times more fun to watch for NBA fans then not.


Anyways, the league (Stern) is way too ****ing stubborn, but there is no way they can continue to not re-seed in the playoffs.
 
When did Phil Jackson start coaching the Cavs? Nice to see competent teammates producing when the star is going out of his way to get them shots...

It's just frustrating that most teams can half ass all season long. Anyway go Cavs! I love having Andy so much. The guy brings so much energy when he's out there.
