Well, Joakim Soria looks great again. WTF was up with him? Did he lose his closer mentality?
You can't lose the closer mentality, that shit is genetic.

So I am pretty sure Chris Capuano is going to throw a complete game shut out tonight. I can't remember the last time a spurned Brewer didn't come back and dominate at least once. Plus, now that he has his personal life together (good for him and David Wright, I'm glad they are settling down together) he seems to be pitching with a little bit more consistency.

Wat?? lol
Big Cap has been dealing, but I feel Fielder, Braun, Weeks, and Hart are going to kill his slow pitches. Hope the being spurned thing helps though.

I know a girl who dated (and lived with) Cappy. She swears he used her as a beard and that him being closeted severely hurt his pitching abilities. I'm just glad her and David found love.

Hosmer gets a walk-off single. Nice. I actually really hope that the Royals sign Starling. That lineup would just be insane.

Done! The Royals really had to do it. The sting of not signing local prospect Albert Pujols when he really wanted to play for the Royals all those years ago will never go away, and we just couldn't let it happen again. Plus Bubba seems supernatural. Now it's just a matter of convincing him to actually play baseball instead of succumbing to University of Nebraska's pressure to be their quarterback. I imagine he's pretty locked in, though; Dayton wouldn't have wasted his first round on him if there was really a chance he wouldn't play. Plus, what teenager would turn down $7m right now?

Nyjer tearing it up in limited at-bats, moving from a utility role to platoon leadoff hitter. Team manager says, "well, I know he didn't work out in his previous organization, but that's just because he was unhappy there. He's really turned a corner and has a real chance to shine here. And his clubhouse personality is infectious! Tony Plush, what will he think of next?"

Enjoy the Morgan cycle, eznark!

Considering we gave up less than nothing (check out Cutter Dykstra's numbers at high A...lol) to get him...I will!

Addition by subtraction.

Yup. The Nats are way better off without that .954 OPS and 1.2 WAR in center field. You've got Rick Ankiel! High character guy. Who cares if he's providing literal subtraction to the win total by subtraction (-0.1 WAR). And yes I fully expect him to implode every single start.

Morgan provided roughly 0 WAR last year and a shitload more distractions but we got the Nyjer you're seeing right now in Washington in '09. He's pretty amazing, right? Leadoff man of the future? A steal of a trade where you dumped off crap? Yeah, he makes some questionable baserunning decisions at times and gets some weird injuries, but his hustle is undeniable and he's fast as fuck, providing plus defense and impressive hitting. Don't even worry about him imploding. He was just frustrated playing for a losing team in Washington.

Why am I still watching this game when I already know how it's going to end

God no. Brewers already have one of the best leadoff men in baseball.

I think that's why you feel so burned. You guys expected a lot for him since you gave up some actual baseball players who were thought to have a future at the time. The Brewers probably never expected Morgan to stick with the MLB club (I certainly didn't) so anything he gets will be gravy. He has no leash in Milwaukee because we got him for nothing. Maybe he realizes that and has reformed himself? In that case, neat, he could be an ok platoon player for a year or so. If not? Who gives a shit. Word one and adios, dick head. The Brewers lose nothing if he implodes, it's not like they are the least bit invested in him.

We didn't give up anyone who we thought had a future at the time. Hanrahan appears to have turned it around but he pitched like absolute ass in Washington, and Lastings Milledge has all the potential of a warm fart. My problem with Nyjer is that (1) he's not very good and on the wrong side of thirty, with pretty atrocious baseball instincts, (2) he tends to insinuate himself into lineups and get a shitload of PAs anyway, and (3) when things aren't going well for him he throws tantrums. Maybe your manager will have a better handle on him than Riggleman, who knows. Certainly it will help that you actually have players to replace him with.

I'm not a huge Roenicke fan, but so far he has been pretty good about platoons. I doubt, no matter how hot Morgan gets, he will ever get more at-bats than he earns and he will certainly never play against lefties.

Look at if from my perspective though: more Morgan = less Gomez

I LOVE NYJER MORGAN

got a RF in 2nd. Josh Bell, anyone know bout him ?

One of the best if not the best high school hitter in the draft. Was projected to go somewhere in the 5-15 range but fell heavily due to him saying he was going to college and needed a boatload of money to sign.

Nintendo needs to just realize a Zelda/Mario machine every five years. It costs $199 US and comes with a normal controller and allows you to play exactly two games, the latest iterations of Zelda and Mario, which are built into the system. I don't think anyone would have any problems with this solution.

So I head over to gaming side for the first time in months, and I don't understand anything about Nintendo's new console. Wii U? tha fuck

What did Nintendo do? I need bullet points or something, I've been out of gaming for so long, lol.
Nintendo just shot themselves in the foot, etc. New controller looks like it was designed by toddlers and nearly everything demonstrated was a worse-looking port of current-gen games.

LOL, at that controller, I'll have to red into it.

I would be OK with this, considering that both Mario Galaxies and NSMBwii where the only games I bought for the Wii. Lol, I guess I'm part of the problem.

Did you see the BF3 stuff? PC gaming won. Yet again. Like it does every single year.
SORRY I CAN'T HEAR YOU OVER PSVITA $249, STARHAWK, AND BIOSHOCK: INFINITE.

Alas, I should have known better. Wish Sony would have announced a ps3 price drop, need to buy myself a new system.
Get a good used BC PS3, stick a 250 GB HDD in it. It's what I did eons ago.
