I always have class at this time :( I was following the game on my phone and I couldn't believe it. I'll watch it later on MLB TV after I watch what remains.
 
Jesus that hook Lee just threw was nasty. He's the man.

Edit: Just realized I was a little behind because of tivo. Cliff is still awesome though :)

In that time he's also driven in about 4 runs. Some people whine about run support Cliff is like fuck it I'll do it myself.

Holy shit, Mets with not one but two grand slams!! The offense is clicking on all cyclinders. Great times to be a fan, everybody thought this team was crap with Wright n Davis n look at them now.

Rayes is important to the mets offense is he not? he has been for some time has he not? I know money is tight over there now though so I dunno.

Anyway, month of June for Cliff Lee: 42 innings, 1 earned run. No runs in the last 32 innings. 4 RBI I think? Something like that. Reminds me of that Bugs Bunny baseball skit.

If Reyes suddenly asks for 7 yrs-$145 million, I don't think the Mets can resign him. That's an insane amount of money (LOL Crawford). However, if the discussion hovers around the 16-17 mill per, then yeah the Mets can. Plus Reyes loves NY and things would point out that he's no Teixiera (get as much money as possible). If he wanted money he'd have switched to Boras.

Dude is getting 20m. I'd sign him too if the contract topped out at 5 years.

I'm with you Frank. If Mets make a sound offer, Reyes would sign. He would take less to stay with Mets if its a reasonable offer. A lot of people think he doesn't want to stay because. He won't negiotate during the season. I believe him when he says its a distraction. Michael Kay doesn't agree though

Listen, the guy loves playing here but he won't give us a huge discount, he already did so first time around and his agents know that. The only break he could give us is years. I'd take that.
 
Acosta blows away Boesch and the ballgame mercifully is over!

Mets win 14-3, after 299 games w/o a grand slam Bay and Beltran hit one in back-to-back innings. Reyes goes 4-for-4 with a walk, and the Mets are a game over .500 for the first time since April 6th (they were 3-2). Tomorrow is Capuano vs. Coke!

... what about the offer to make him the official spokesperson for Skitttles?
 
Obviously dealing K-Rod/Beltran would matter, but if the Mets could actually make the playoffs that extra revenue would be HUGE. As it stands they're only 4.5 out of the WC, Sandy is going to have a tough job deciding when to unload those guys, if he will.
