seriously, how does $200 million get you 33% of the Mets??? i really don't get it.

shit, they want a $100 million just to put a roof over the tennis court at arthur ashe stadium lol

Well it depends on what sources you believe.

Einhorn has an option to buy a 60% stake within 3 years. That option expires if the Wilpons repay the 200m, but Einhorn keeps the 33% stake. TVM/OC aside he's getting his stake for even less, IF Rubin's sources are on the money that is.

Home run #20 for Bautista.

It's not even June.
he is about 5 games behind Bond's pace. Bonds hit #20 on the 39th game of the season (he actually hit 18, 19 and his 20th HR that day), Bautista is at 44 games. But bonds only had 162 PA, Baustista is at 200 PA.

Bonds hit a HR about every 8 PA through his 20th HR. He finished the year with a HR about every 9 PA (664 PA)

Bautista has hit a HR about every 10 PA through his 20th HR.

Nice to see Ubaldo waited until three days left in June to reveal he'd been pitching hurt since spring training. He's got a hip flexor and a groin issue. What an ass.

Why do the rangers put their faith in these shitty bullpen pitchers. Fuck...
Dammit check your PMs, people.

Sharp, do you have MLB 11: The Show? We are doing a MLB-GAF League starting late next week. Here's your best shot to have the Nationals win a title!

From ESPN:
Einhorn has agreed in principal to purchase roughly 33 percent of the team for $200 million, which will infuse cash and keep the organization solvent in the immediate future. In three years, according to the source, Einhorn has an option to up his stake to 60 percent, although principal owner Fred Wilpon and his family have an opportunity to block Einhorn from gaining that majority stake.

The source said the Wilpons can stop Einhorn from gaining the majority share essentially by returning Einhorn’s initial $200 million investment yet allowing him to keep the 33 percent share of the team.
Confirmed by the NYTimes.

What a steal. And if he takes control of the Mets he takes control of SNY too. Crazy.

So he gets to keep 33% of the Mets for loaning them $200 million. If they don't pay it back in three years he increases his equity in the company to 60%. In three years he will either get 33% of the Mets for the cost of the loan or majority control of the Mets for $200 million. That's a great deal. I have to wonder if MLB somehow limited the Mets' options when selling part of the team. I wonder if they could have gotten a better deal from a much less ideal owner choice in MLB.

The Mets chose the minority owner they wanted, I think they wanted to do it this way because every other person wanted a piece of SNY outright. SNY is a cash cow and they're confident they can pay off Einhorn so he doesn't get any of SNY.

I fucking hate FOX. Was about to flip my shit when they sent my broadcast to Minnesota instead of Detroit. Thanks for telling me there was a rain delay...you cunts.

... really Pagan? Why are you stealing 3rd? Reyes I get but not you, especially coming off injury. Basically Mets have to get runs any way possible but not be reckless.

Seems the only way to get Turner out is to have hit try to protect runners stealing.

Bay can you not strikeout/hit a weak grounder here with Reyes at 3rd?

EDIT: HOLY SHIT WHAT DID I JUST SEE?

Looked like that was going to be really bad for the Mets for a second.
You act like it still won't be. This is Pelfrey's rap; usually he gives up a little single and he loses all focus and allows a huge inning. This time it was a legit double, but still this is where he usually makes a egregious mistake/error.

Pitcharound to Ruiz is probably the best thing to do. Get Hamels and move on.

EDIT: I have no idea of the lineup LOL.

EDIT 2: *sigh* No words... just no words.
