haha, and people wanted to keep DLowe since he had "turned a corner"....should've traded him while he was worth something (at least gotten rid of that contract)

Pelfrey for Lowe and Venters. A legit sinkerball pitcher in Citi Field...

Wasn't someone here saying just last week "so is it safe to assume Derek Lowe is a genuinely good pitcher again"?
Didn't Lowe then throw Torii Hunter a slider that slid right out of the ballpark?

Anthony Swimswam is bossing up.

I refuse to believe that. That would've meant Hunter made contact with a slider instead of flailing helplessly at it.

You say that like teams actually wanted to take 3 years and $45 million left for a guy that lost 10 games and had a 4.67 ERA.

Nobody fucking wanted him. That's why they ended up trading Javier Vazquez.

Nah, I'm talking about this year, after he had a good stretch; it was reported on mlbtraderumors that teams were asking about him, but the braves wanted to keep their SP depth

Look, if you want to deal Lowe you gotta give up something. Fuck trading Beltran for Lowe straight up, Beltran is healthy enough (.920 OPS). Braves would have to give up something besides Lowe.

Fine, you have have McLouth too then. He's not going to have a job anymore if Schafer keeps this up.

You know beltran is just going to break down at any moment, why take the risk ;)
He takes great care of himself and so far has played virtually every day in RF. he may break down, but it's not going to be anytime soon. 4-5 years of .290 AVG, .850+ OPS and 17-20 HR's not good enough for teams? Mets will pay alot of salary in the trade anyway.

Hells yeah

I ws at the game..Still lol at Nate..what was his injury?

High curve to Utley, surprised he didn't throw a FB away. He just threw a curveball... even with Utley not 100% you can't miss that badly. Well at least a legit good start by Mike Pelfrey.

That was a nice play. Utley has been looking real good the past couple games (except for bumping into Jimmy last night). He's come back a lot stronger than I expected.

No... it was definitely a slider.
