Damn I'm such a diehard baseball fan and I forget there's a great baseball thread on GAF. Gotta visit Off Topic more.

That said, just checking the standings and it just really blows my mind that the Pirates are still only three out of the top spot. When's the last time they were this close this close to the break? Has there been any word Pittsburgh ownership or management about a possible push (pick-up) if they are still in contention after the break? I'm a Bombers fan but a baseball fan first, so would love to see a story like this. Hope this hasn't been discussed to death already.

Carton is a fat little fugly misogynist cunt that doesn't deserve to be paired with me, forget boomer.

I don't think the Pirates FO is into that sort of thing.

On MLB.com, it says that the Phillies-Jays game is being broadcast at 1:07. What? Why? Would 1:05 have been too early? 1:10 too late? Do the two extra minutes mean all the difference for easily excitable Jays fans to cheer on Halladay? I just don't understand.

The white sox had/have a partnership with 7-11 so their 7pm games would start at 7-11.

not like Reye's play would have made a difference anyway.

but it was still another YOTU call, this is one of those text book cases to make the case for replay in baseball, but Bud is too busy with... god knows what. anyhoo, Let's put more items in the left handed column, wait, my left hand or yours?

fuck.that

textbook example of why baseball needs more athletic umps who can get into position to make a call.

Carton a funny ass dude man. His impersation of Suyzn Waldman is on point. He does like to talk too much and doesn't let Boomer speak his mind sometimes.

Rangers signed Nomar Mazara to a 5 million dollar bonus. He was only the #10 rated LA prospect. Welp, at least I know where all the draft money went.

Speaking of archived Mlb.tv feeds: How long after the games do blackout restrictions lift?

Edit: Also, any pitchers worth watching tonight?
90 minutes

Jays take lead against Halladay :D

Wow, Romero's numbers after his first 78 games are better than Halladay's numbers were after the same number of starts

Fans throwing stuff on the field and Police are now in foul territory. Fans are chanting "You Suck. You Suck. You Suck."

Just got back from the Jays game (awesome crowd BTW) and I've never seen anyone react like Rauch did, my god, that was amazing.

Also, that Bombeasta homer was unreal. 450+ blast to straightaway center.

What is up with Fox's HD feed of the NY game, the view behind the pitcher, the pitcher is blurry, the batter is fine but this isn't normal for an HD sports broadcast. I am on Cablevision NY but this seems to be Fox's problem because no Met's and Yankees games on their own networks look like this.

Looks normal to me on Time Warner.

Edit: Now the pitcher is blurry, but the outfield cam position still looks normal.

White sox are in the middle of being no hit. We'll see if garza can keep this no hitter together. I hope the sox can break apart this no hitter.
