Something hilarious about Kearns and Duncan beating the Yankees tonight. Duncan's AB was pretty amazing the way he hung in there. If Burnett could've just located an outside breaking ball, he would have struck him out.

just catching up on my DVR. You must feel pretty shitty if Austin Kearns gets a hit on you, let alone a go ahead HR.

So Freddie Freeman is pretty awesome. First career multi-homer game.

Has the HP ump been this awful all night?

Fucking Doyers. Seems like there are a ton of Mest fans in the stands too.
If you want the natinals ahead of the Mets maybe your team should actually beat them head to head instead of looking for a West Coast team with "that good shit" to do the dirty work.

I'd love them to, but we don't face you again until the 29th. But I honestly wasn't even thinking about our relative standings since I have no delusions about where the Nats will end up at the end of the season. Just enjoy watching a great offensive team like New York get blanked.

Edit: I thought the Mets must have a winning record against the Nats this year because of how you were talking, but no, it's tied. So I really don't know what point you're trying to make here.

No Reyes was the final straw. Plus Mets have always sucked vs. pitchers they have never seen before.

Record is irrelevant. You crapping on them like you got a vested interest or something, I guessed record.

The day a baseball fan needs a vested interest to enjoy watching the Mets getting no-hit will be a sad one indeed.

Omg, Tigers come on. =( No one likes the Angels, no one will mind if they don't win.

Hah. I'm not sure why the Angels garner so much hate, considering how inoffensive they are.

Now if you take a team like the Rangers...

Swing and a miss, he struck him out! And the ballgame is over! K-Rod downs Velez and the Mets get a nice comeback win against the hated Dodgers!

Big ups to Capuano and Parnell, and clutch hits from Pagan and ALL STAR BELTRAN.

Red Sox pregame is better than anything. Family out to throw first pitch. Showed their daughter in the Navy saying hi to them on the jumbletrom. Then surprises the family with revealing she is on leave from duty and comes out from the monster. Our organisation is top notch with that stuff.
Second to The Team of the Military, my Padres, of course

Mets win! I say they keep winning on this road trip, go 5-2 into the all star break.

After that it's a big home series against the Phillies that will determine the future of the team for the next 2-3 years.

So here's a fun quirk I found in LOB% when trying to figure out how Clippard has one of 99.3% after putting only 40 guys on base: it doesn't factor in men cleared off base by home runs. I'm not sure why, but it doesn't! But it gets better: not only does it not factor in men cleared off base by home runs, including the runner, it doesn't actually know which home runs were solo and which weren't. So it just guesses that about 0.4 men were on base per home run! This is fine except that all Clipp's home runs have been solo shots. If you use a value of "1" for the home runs instead of "1.4" you get 90% LOB%, which actually makes sense (since he allowed three guys he put on base to score, which is still pretty low but at least in the realm of this universe). What's funny is that with one more solo HR his LOB% would (will?) be above 100% and everyone would probably realize something was wrong.

So what is the moral of this story? I guess the moral of this story is that you should probably make sure you understand a stat really well before using it to make predictions.

Braves leadoff hitter

.224/.288/.301

Braves 2 hole hitter

.237/.270/.359

Tonight?

0-8, 5Ks.

Tomorrow? Just a guess, 0-8.

Worst 1-2 in the majors.

Only because the Nats aren't going Desmond-Bernadina anymore.
