14 straight wins, the longest streak of the season for any club (along with tying a franchise record), heading into the Saturday matchup versus the Cavs. Jason Kidd with his 74th career triple double, RJ dropped 40 points, and Vince got 20 points, hitting that mark for the 19th straight game to set a new franchise record. Just two and a half games behind the Heat in the conference, though I don't think they've got enough games to get to second.

Jesus... back before the NBA season started, I figured the Nets would fall off, make maybe the 7th seed, and get swept out of the playoffs by Detroit/Miami/Indiana, and now they look like they could easily get all the way to the Finals.

nice to see the Spurs choke early....I'm guessing they come out in the 3rd and go on a 20-4 run

the refs should fear for their lives.......................................................

how in the hell do the Spurs outplay the Mavs and still lose and @ home....back to back losses!??????????????????????????????

ugh.

Dirk stepped up tonight. He's a MVP.

lucky bounces for offensive rebounds for and living by the 3 is the only thing that kept this game close for the spurs.

mavs win :D

Well looks like Phoenix is really developing that defense for the playoffs. Kobe is going off. Sad.

so what's the over/under on Kobe scoring over 60 tonight?

Wow Spurs...

They are still unhealthy and the playoffs are almost here. There's no way they can beat the Pistons in this state. I personally feel the Spurs would beat the Pistons if they were healthy, but that's not the case this year.

The Pistons will have a cake walk to the finals, while the Spurs have to deal with Dallas; that won't be easy. Sure the Spurs will win, but Dallas will extend the series.

What a heartbreaking loss the Pacers had to the Knicks. Theres even a chance that the Pacers could get knocked off to the 8th seed.

WHY even bring Steve Nach back in the game. The Lakers can't stop the ONSLAUGHT of 3 pointers by the srubs on the Suns.

Let Stevie rest for the remainder of the 4th qtr.

The Kings just own the Clips. Artest with two big baskets for the win. 7th seed now. I don't think the Suns and Kings have played since the Artest trade and the return of Bonzi. Not sure how they match up.

Ummm..did you watch the game? The Mavs outplayed the Spurs after that 11 point lead the Spurs had. The only reason you guys were in the game was because you kept getting dumb offensive rebounds and making a 3s. Despite a stretch in the 4th where both teams couldn't score, I thought we were great offensively. Josh Howard was amazing in the first half.

Tony has been hurt and Tim has the flu. With them healthy the Mavs lose as always.

And they will in the playoffs. Fact.

Dallas, as you know, was missing three of their top players due to injury. With them healthy, Dallas wins in a landslide, shoot 60%+, and hold Tim "My foot hurts WAHHH" Duncan to even less production than last night's embarrassing spectacle.

The Spurs are done. The leauge has caught onto Manu's circus show and Tony showed everyone last night that teams don't have to worry about doubling Tim in the lowblock -- cuz he sure as fuck isn't going to make a jumpshot when it's needed.

Spurs bench > Mavs bench

Ok. I'll admit your bench did outplay us, and you were missing Robert Horry. Nick was pretty good and Finley made some big 3s. I kept thinking why couldn't he do that for us last year. But BirdBomb is right. We were missing some key guys on our bench. I'm just glad we didn't have to resort to playing Rawle Marshall or DJ Mbenga.

:lol :lol @ Darko outplaying both Wallaces and WON

yeah its gonna be tough for them to deal with Darko in the playof...oh wait, i dont think the pistons gave a shit about that game, and rip wasnt there death in the family :( sucks.

yeah, well we'll see how the Pistons do without their human victory cigar to clinch wins. Darko was clutch. Every time he got in the game in the last few minutes, you just KNEW the pistons were going to win.

You're comparing the crap Mavs players that are injured to a hurt Tim Duncan and Tony Parker and a missing Robert Horry? You get dumber by the day. Go suck on Allen's dick.

Anyway, sadly, when everyone thought Tim was getting better there are reports of people at the games that he can be seen limping visibly when going to the bench during timeouts and stuff. People can say he is a big softie, but this season he has truly shown what a pro he really is. Dumbasses like ParkPace will try to bring him down but if he was in Tim's position, he would be at home crying on his momma's shoulder because of the pain.

And now Manu got hurt yesterday and his status is unknown for Sunday's game. Fuck injuries. Injuries to important players that is. Not garbage role players.

Still, I 'm not afraid in the least of the Mavs. Unless they have HC advantage and two out of the three best Spurs players are hurt, they have no chance, like always.

Zzzzzz....

Duncan has what amounts to a ingrown toenail. You want injury and sacrifice? Our god, Gary Payton, trudged through the 95 playoffs with a BROKEN LEFT FOOT. This year, with Duncan, it's always something new to keep the fanatical Spurs base at bay: "Flu," "Stomach virus," "Too many good players surrounding him," "Base of foot is uneven with ankle," or "He's won three championships already."

We're seeing the development of a David Robinsonesqueinhislaststagesofhiscareer type progress, here.

Spurs will lose to the Mavericks in the playoffs. I'm calling it now. Is Parker going to suddenly remember how to square up and shoot properly? Is Manu going to be bailed out by the refs again? Is Tim going to find a cure for the toenail?

No, no, and NO!

NBA fans, rejoice. An exciting finals matchup, not involving the Spurs, awaits us!

thats the stupidest thing ive ever heard. nobody is making excuses for duncan. the injury is limiting him. this much is fact. his numbers to start the season were trademark duncan numbers. as soon as he started having foot problems his numbers dropped. i think the fact that even when limited he still commands a double team speaks volumes about the kind of player he is.

i don't really know if the spurs are gonna win it all this year. to be quite honest i dont really care. the spurs are one of the 2 most successful nba franchises of the last decade, so I can't really complain if they dont win back to back titles.

that being said, you better home the mavs do win the playoff matchup, because if not im gonna find this post and rub it right in your face :lol

Spurs aint getting close to the finals this year. Ill go out on a limb and say its the Mavs year to get to the finals. Ill go out on another limb and say the Nets hit the finals this year also. Miami has shown it cant hang with top teams. And i really dont wanna see the pistons in the finals for 3 years in a row.

you sure want to bring up injuries real quick when the spurs lose but when dallas loses and they have starting players with importance out like howard and griffin you didn't seem to think that mattered. im not going to say duncan isnt being bothered by his injury because he obviously is but the spurs have been playing great all year with him like that so forgive me if i laugh at your double edged sword of "haha we beat you with a hobbled duncan" when you win and "waaaa but duncan isnt healthy" when you lose. you sound alot like laker fans during the 3peat thinking the spurs can just 'turn it on' at anytime and blow everyone out and anytime they lose its just because they didnt play their game.

it was a good game, both teams had some injuries, what the fuck is wrong with tony parker? sure seemed fine to me. was just as quick and willing to run to the paint as always, mavs just played good d on him. i would easily put adrian and harris above horry in terms of importance to the team. downplay our injured bench all you want but NVE hitting 4-5 three pointers off the bench is the only thing that prevented last nights game from being the 2nd mavs blowout win over sa this season so forgive me while again while i laugh at what a homer you are :lol

duncan's not gonna get any healthier so if Spurs fans want to play the injury card they better be worried cause he aint gonna be any better come playoff time.
