That poll strikes me as very puzzling... Isn't Obama supposed to appeal to independents more than Hillary? Aren't aren't independents supposed to be the people who might sway from Democratic to Republican, or vice-versa, depending on who gets the nomination? These facts seem to contradict the outcome of this poll.

I don't think it was an open primary. I recall a minor outcry over how many voters found out they were registered as independent/decline-to-state and therefore couldn't vote.

I've gone from being borderline supportive of Hillary, to indifferent, to non supportive, to just plain pissed in about a WEEK. I'm sorry, she is running a shitty campaign. She didn't even try. During debates, she just stood among the other candidates like she knew better than anyone else and acted like she didn't have to put herself out there. This has nothing to do with her being a woman. unethical? certainly. illegal? probably not. republicans appoint only loyal republicans to political posts all the time, and democrats do the same.

They can't tell who you ACTUALLY voted for, but one's political affiliation is a matter of public record.

edit: this isn't a matter of "discrimination" but more an issue of political appointments by the party in power. for instance- I'm pretty sure everyone bush nominates for his cabinet, court justices, etc etc are all staunch republicans...

My old roomie campaigned pretty hardcore for santorum when he landed in office, and ended up with a post as legislative laison in harrisburg due to all the work he put in. This kind of thing happens ALL the time. it's politics.
