I clearly saw O'Shea touch the ball on the replay, so I'm very confused to hear Andy Gray say he got nothing of it. We both saw the same replay....

Anyway...now the race is really interesting.

Well yeah... ****... now we got to hope we can beat them at Stamford Bridge or they somehow slip up.

A draw at stamford bridge will do. Provided we beat Everton on saturday and West Ham on the last day of the season. Both games are away.

It's going to be tough.

Don't forget Chelsea have to go away to Arsenal, the advantage is still with United even if they win tomorrow.

I've seen the replay a few more times and I swear O'Shea gets a touch. His foot is behind the ball though from where the camera is so I can't actually see the ball and foot touching, but it seems to change direction.

Now whether he'd fouled the player already to get that touch, I dunno.

I'd be more worried about what defence you're going to have to put out against Milan than the Premiership race, personally.

Chelsea are going to win 4 titles aren't they. If that happens I will never watch football again.

during the summer break

Chelsea can't even afford to even draw any of their remaining matches purely because of Man Utd's staggering goal difference.

What was wrong with Solskjaer's goal? I don't understand what he did wrong.

You can't do anything around goalkeepers anymore.

EDIT: Apparently the goalkeeper muist be allowed to strike the ball, according to the fourth official. That's a rule I was unaware of, and the commentators were unaware of, and apparently players are unaware of.

...I don't think it was a yellow card though.

It's been clearly established that what he did isn't allowed (although i think it should) from the couple of times Henry has done it in the past and from some other people as well. :-/

Awesome, the West Ham plan to cost Man U the title again (and get relegated...ITS ALL PART OF A PLAN) is on.

So quite a few things have been decided:

- Watford relegated

- Liverpool guaranteed a CL spot, Arsenal basically join them (3 games left, 9 points ahead, 11 better goal difference)

- Blackburn are officially safe

I'll do the title run in tomorrow after the Chelsea game, kind of pointless right now. The relegation run in though...

Looking at the very next fixture for each team, you'd have to say only Fulham have a game they'll almost certainly lose. Any other teams winning their games and Fulham fans might have a heart attack. Especially as their next game would be Liverpool.

Having seen the penalty thing again, there wasn't a touch. I blame the 4 inch screen I was watching it on.

There's a female commentator on the Fulham - Blackburn game, apparently the first ever on Match of the Day. Jackie Oatley. I'm thrilled about that, there's no reason they can't commentate as well as men, it's not like half the fat guys currently doing it ever played the game.

Problem is, she's distracting me. I need to know what she looks like, she sounds like she might be attractive. I can't concentrate on the game if I don't know!

Oh, and we ****ing killed Fulham, can't believe we didn't score more. Give us Bellamy back, you red bastards.

:lol same here, I couldn't concentrate on the game at all. She did a good job I guess, but I am more comfortable with ugly old men doing the commentating.

He touched his knee with his knee btw, clear penalty imo

Ive just heard so many women talking about things i dont want to listen to durin football matches the mere tone of her voice was enough for me to try and tune it out...I know its sexist but i cant help it, Im a victim of my enviroment.

p.s just another f u to West Ham for starting to play now thats its too late.

Wait, here she is, I was just spelling her name in a non-stupid way, that's why I couldn't find her. It's Jacqui.

Not bad at all.

She should be in the studio, not commentating.

Does anybody watch Star Sports streams on the web, there's a female presenter on there that's VERY distracting.
yes. she's very doable.

Yes, I do. She doesn't know what the **** she's talking about, so I mute it, but I do play the tits legs tits legs tits legs game.

An ex of mine, my very first girlfriend in fact, used to always try and talk about football all the time, which I wouldn't mind if she'd have just accepted that she didn't know what she was talking about. She'd just get mad at me for correcting her or not taking her points seriously, but they were wrong or stupid, how will she leanr otherwise?

Anyway, I was once watching a game between Real Madrid and Juventus in the CL and she came in and asked who was playing. I said "Real, Juventus" like you'd say "United, Everton" and she said "Against who?"

very old people would have the same problem when it's Austria - Hungary. Ah well.

My girlfriend actually is a football fan, a gooner no less. And she does know what she's talking about. She's not big on tactics, but that just makes me feel more manly.

My gf doesn't like watching football, yet she plays it better than me and has nutmegged me a few times too many :(

Ohoho, I bet she has.

It wasn't exactly true before that that girl was my first girlfriend, just my first proper one. There were a few childhood things, including this girl I've known all my life, literally, we grew up on the same street, were in the same class at school and so on. She's also a Blackburn fan and used to have a season ticket so really into it, and our street used to play another street at football every chance we got and she always played. She wasn't that bad at all, although...and I think I've mentioned this before...the one and only time we lost to the other street was the one game I didn't play in for some reason. I was the Thierry Henry of my street.

Anyway, that's not what I wanted to say. I'd had a crush on her for years, but never dared say anything as I didn't think she liked me like that at all. But quite often, when other kids weren't around, it'd just be me and my younger brother and her and her younger brother playing. Rather than doing something sensible like playing games revolving around one goal, we insisted on playing 2 against 2 across a pitch far too big for that. And we always insisted it was me and her vs our brothers, giving the excuse that while we were both older, it was a guy and girl vs two guys.

Of course, my real reason was the celebrations. For games which would end 26-17 after 15 minutes of playing, we sure did overcelebrate every goal. Lots of hugging, jumping on each other, diving on top of the other person when on the ground...I was basically in it for the groping, the promise of which helped my striking like nothing else.

Years later, when we eventually did get together for a while, I found out she'd liked me just as long and wanted to be on my team for the exact same reasons.

The dirty whore.

LOL at the last sentence.... :lol :lol :lol

:lol@ your story mama. I would have laughed out loud if I didnt have so many worries about manchester united. If Chelsea do win today, then Im going to be a nervous wreck for the next month. Our destiny was in our own hands and we've managed to screw things up. I just knew that boro would cause us a problem, they've been a real pain in the ass every time they've played us. There's a chance that our **** up against boro wont be very costly depending on what happens at st james's park. Im actually feeling quite confident; I reckon Newcastle can atleast draw with chelsea.

If chelsea do win today, then all I can say is well done. They've done ****ing well to stay right behind us and keep the pressure on. Their players have kept saying that they can win the title and they're showing the determination to do it. Today is their turn to make a difference in the title race. If they win today then they'v e got the chance to punish us. If they draw or lose, then they're blessing us with a very big chance.

Injuries have been destroying us this season. When it looked like things might be getting better, rio gets injured, which now causes some majhor probelms against AC Milan. The way I see it, we're screwed. Milan have got a lot of quality attacking players. If we had our first choice defence, we would have had a very good chance of winning the tie, but with o'shea, brown, heinze and richardson in defence, its going to be a ****ing difficult job.

Actually Richardson picked up a knock and may not be available for Milan either.

These guys should be available: Brown, O'Shea, Heinze, Evra, Fletcher. Now there are a crapload of formations you could play with them, as 4 of the 5 can play right back, 3 of the 5 left back and 3 of the 5 centre back. I would guess Fletcher won't be played in defence, in which case I would guess it's one of these two back lines:

Evra---Brown---O'Shea---Heinze

or

O'Shea---Brown---Heinze---Evra

Neville should be back for the second leg, and hopefully United will still be in the tie at that point, but I don't think anyone else can make it back.

There are lots of rumours about Berbatov today, about him joining Chelsea or Man United in the summer. I think he would do fantastically well at either club, but I really can't see Spurs letting him go. One rumour is that United will offer Saha (plus some money) for him, which has a better chance than just money I think. I feel Saha would score just as many goals as Berbatov if he could stay fit...just a question of whether or not Spurs think he would stay fit.

So maybe if he really wanted to leave and they were offered Saha plus enough money, Spurs might sell. However...it's a tricky situation for Berbatov, it really is. He's 26 and has 3 years left on his current contract. Given his quality, it's not actually a very good contract, it's something like £17,000 a week. He could easily get £50,000 to £70,000 at a larger club I reckon. So he has a tricky choice...he can refuse to sign a new contract with Spurs and lose out on millions of pounds over the next few years until he's available to move on, or he can sign now, get a hell of a lot more money, the sort of money a player of his quality deserves, but perhaps never play for one of the big sides.

It's even harder to decide because, even if he doesn't sign a new contract, he still might not get to one of the top sides. Spurs wouldn't be under any pressure to sell him yet, they could wait a couple of years. By that time he'll be 28 coming up 29...not exactly old, but less attractive than he is right now at 26. And clubs aren't just going to sit there waiting for him...right now a few of the top sides are lacking in at least one of their striking positions, but who knows who they'll buy in the next couple of years?

Hmmm, you're right, I forgot about that. Given the close ties between Arsenal and Spurs, you could be right.

More seriously, Liverpool have been linked before too, though not today. I suppose they could offer Crouch or something in part-exchange.

Blackburn's transfer situation is the same as ever, as far as I'm concnerned. We need another striker and a reserve right back/right winger (because Emerton can be the reserve for either depending on who we can get).

The striker I really want is Bellamy, but I'm not sure he'll be available and if he is he might go somewhere like Villa instead. In that case I want Nugent, he impressed me in the brief time he played for England, but again he's only going to be available if Preston don't make it up through the playoffs. Other than those two, there's a massive list of players we could get (Earnshaw, Mido, King, Rasiak...), we just need to get someone to compliment McCarthy.

At right back/right wing there are various choices. More at right back I feel. I think Geremi would be great, I understand Chelsea are going to let him go (and bring Glen Johnson back from his loan) and he really is a talented player. We'll face a lot of competition for him though. Justin Hoyte is interesting, but unless Arsenal pick up another right back or move Gallas over, I doubt he'll be available. We don't need someone great though, so someone will be available, we really just need to make up the numbers. As it is if Bentley's out we can play Emerton right wing, and if Ooijer's out (as he is at the moment) we can play Emerton right back. The worry is if both Bentley and Ooijer are out, we don't have that other player so would have to move guys out of position. Just need to make up the numbers on that right hand side.

Well you've got quite a few years to wait until he's a free agent.

The Newcastle - Chelsea game ****ing sucks. United fans will be happy to know Chelsea haven't had a single chance so far though.

I read in one of the papers today that Bellamy could return to Blackburn. Also I think it was unlucky that Roberts got that metatarsal injury so early otherwise he could've formed a good partnership with McCarthy. Nonda has blown hot and cold (when does his loan end?) but done alright and Derbyshire has had a few good games so it's not as if you're struggling massively for strikers, in terms of numbers at least..

I think a bigger worry could be if someone tries to buy GAMST(tm) but I'm not sure of his contract position..

His loan ends this summer. We have the option to buy, but I doubt we will.

I am quite happy with the strikers, it's just that I look in every other position on the pitch and see little that could be improved, without spending much more than we could afford. I'd also like a player who can pull us out of games we're not playing well in, like Bellamy did last year.

I remember towards the end of last season, a rejuvinated Portsmouth were absolutely destroying us, we barely left our own half all game. But Bellamy scored two goals, the first in particular being a run across half the pitch...we really don't have a guy who can do that at the moment.

EDIT: Morten Gamst Pedersen signed a new contract last summer. The question is whether or not he really does have a buyout clause in there.

Even if he does he might not go, he was attracting interest from teams last summer and could have just not signed, he was clearly happy. Hopefully still is.
