Official Football Thread 2006/2007 (Soccer)

Apparantly Juve had a 11.5 million pound offer for milito rejected.

It looks like juve are going to try and strengthen the squad with a defender, a midfielder and a striker. I cant remember all the players that have been linked with them, but the latest names are heinze, sissoko and saviola.

Does we mean arsenal or inter? Inter rdont need any more strikers. Their four main strikers are ibrahimovich, cruz, crespo and adriano, so no one else is needed.

However, they can go looking for a striker if adriano is sold. I think its best for everyone if he goes. He isnt performing at inter, he's just wasted talent. If inter sell himk then they can get some good money out of it even though they dont need it because they are like Serie A's chelsea. Its good for him too, I think he needs a change to save himself.

Arsenal Hotspur? I'd heard this kit was Emirates idea.

Also good to see Sports Minister Caborn (my MP in fact) come out in support of Liverpool & against UEFA. How long now till the G14 breakaway Euro league?

I was talking about Arsenal. I support both clubs (Inter and Arsenal). Obviously Inter doesn't need another striker, they also have Recoba lol.

it's apparently real.

However, the rumours about the origin couldn't be any more wrong. It's a tribute to Herbert Chapman, Arsenal manager in the old days. Nothing to do with any sponsor requests or anything like that.

Wigan have also signed sibierski. There were rumours that he could be joining Bolton, but he chose wigan. He says he joined because the manager impresses him and he thinks that wigan is clearly a very ambitious club. It sounds like someone has moved for the money!
 
The kit isnt that bad. Its a little plain, but I think kits look nicer when they're plain. It could be a lot worse, you should be thankful that your kit doesnt look like a red bull can like some other unfortunate team.
 
The other picture looks better. I have seen pictures of that one floating around but that was a few weeks ago. I wish they would just stick with the yellow, or possibly another bright color for the away kit. White is so, bleh.

nah, it's not a bad looking kit. But it is too similar to the Spurs kit for my liking. The kit itself is simple and relatively classy.

Ironically, allegedly Spurs away kit for next season is yellow.

Are you kidding me? Wasn't it a huge deal when Arsenal was wearing blue a few years ago? Now Spurs are going to wear yellow?
 
The new kit is kinda meh. Is that the 3rd strip? If that's the case, then who really cares.

I think we may have to force h0pper to get a 2nd GAF account so he can use one to post about Inter and the other to post about Arsenal. Otherwise, mass confusion! ;)

I thought it was quite obvious. My constant defense of Henry staying at Arsenal, my deep interest in who Arsenal are recruiting in the transfer season, and my DEEP concern for the club in Henry does happen to leave.

I like Inter as well. I know that may seem blasphemous to some of (supporting two clubs), but they do play in entirely different countries. My family is Italian, so I started to like Inter when I was younger but as the years went on I started to watch the EPL more often, and fell in love with Arsenal.

It's not that.... it's that i always get put off by your Herman Crespo Avatar, i kinda support Barca outside the premiership myself it's blasphemy if you support two clubs from the same country like my cousin who used to support Liverpool AND Man Utd (how was that possible) until he saw the error of his ways and supported Liverpool through and through from now on.

Seeing how you don't like Hleb that much.

they're both the same colour it's like saying Owen would look weird in Black and White stripes, infact scratch that i haven't seen enough of Owen in Stripes.

Although i think he's the type of player that wouldn't play the same for any other club, much like what happened to Fowler when he got kicked out of Liverpool.

See what happens when I hear diddly squat about possible Liverpool transfers I'm driven to madness. :/
 
Here's another pic of the new Man U shirt... guess this is it after all. I don't mind it ( last years was perfect imo) but I hope its just ther camera cause the purplish tint dosen't work for me. As long as its a more RED red than I will be happy.

Oh yeah anyone remember the May Day For Nurses charity where footballers were asked to give up a weeks wage for Charity, and we all hated Chelsea the most highest paid footballers in the world didn't donate any of theirs?

Well I saw an advertisement on Channel 4 and they're going to show some Women who knows diddly squat about football go around asking the footballers to donate a weeks wage should be interesting.
