Arsenal would be happy to take Alex if Chelsea don't want him.
The whole temporary stadiums thing sounds annoying.Cornballer said:
There's not really any way around it, and if it helps drum up more fans in different areas, it's a good thing. I read somewhere that they were just going to use one or two temp stadiums (one for big matches and one for small), but that hasn't been confirmed.Osorio said:The whole temporary stadiums thing sounds annoying.
yeah, I pretty much agree. I'd like to do the fantasy football - I'll have a look if I can find something decent. The yahoo one wasn't that great. And I agree on the squad thing, you shouldn't be able to sell and buy each week. It's too much work and I can't have that.Mama Smurf said:I know we have the predictions league, but are we going to do fantasy football this year? I'm not doing yahoo again (though if the rest of you want to, feel free of course), but I'd like to hear other suggestions.
Basically I'm looking for a free fantasy league where we can set up our own league, but don't have to micromanage. You just buy the players you think will do best at the start of the season, then you have maybe 5 plus transfers you can use throughout the year, either fro a player who's injured, or sold, or just turned out crap.
I don't wanna be changing things every week. And I know lots of people just gave up last time early in the season and left the players they'd chosen to get on with it.
So if you've got any ideas, let's hear them. If enough people want to do one of them, we'll do it.

The day Red Bull Park opens is going to be a day I will never forget. Oh and I'm calling for a football thread gaffers meetup in South Africa.Outdoor Miner said:2010 is shaping up to be a crazy year.
You've got 2-4 more teams basically filling MLS. Then you've got RBNY, DC United, and San Jose getting their stadiums. Plus the World Cup. What a glorious year that's going to be. Hell, my team might have even fixed themselves proper by then!
Is there a stream anywhere of the address or do we have to wait for a recap on MLSnet like always?Cornballer said:Just a reminder to MLS fans that the "State of the League" address w/ Don Garber is today. Should be some announcements and other fun stuff.
Also, he participated in an online chat yesterday, you can read it here.
Let me check. I usually read the recap, but people claim there's a stream this year. (Then again, MLS said there would be a stream last year and there wasn't....)Osorio said:Is there a stream anywhere of the address or do we have to wait for a recap on MLSnet like always?
hadareud said:the first fantasy league that came up is the official premiership one, based on actim points - it should do exactly the trick, I think:

have a look at it and tell me what you think
hadareud said:If he doesn't want to come for that reason he's either not very confident in his ability or not very ambitious. Neither option is too desirable.
I picked as many Americans as I could. My lineup is :lol .hadareud said:all right then. I set up my team and the league.
100 points gives you quite a decent side btw.

You can join now and make changes until the first match starts, I believe. I'd just put a team up now and you can modify it later is information surfaces.Mama Smurf said:When do we have to join by? Can I join now and keep changing my team up until the deadline? Otherwise I'll wait and see who else is bought.
It's not a mystery.... the Epl has changed it's logo numbering and lettering for all kits.... hell I think Spurs and Sheffield United wore them in their last games. I know United wore them yesterday in Japan.Ghost said:Think I've solved this mystery:
From last night (first time we've worn the new shirts)

Looks like the numbering has little lions on.

I thought about it again and I like the idea. The years leading up to the opening of the stadium are to generate a larger fanbase around Northern California. Then the stadium opens and Quakes fans from across NoCal will come.jamesinclair said:The team I follow, Parana Clube in Brazil used to play in 5 stadiums in 3 cities around the state, they owned two of them, and the other 3 were city owned.
They did it to have a wider fanbase. Think of it like San jose playing a game in Sacramento, one in Oakland, one in San jose and one in Modesto.
They wont do this, but i think its a cool idea.
