That was the most ridiculous shoot out I've ever seen.

Carson's a terrible, terrible penalty saver. I know he got one, but most of the time he went the wrong way and when he did go the right way even quite slow penalties, like that last one, trickled past him.

I guess that's what happens when two of the worst penalty taking nations in the world face each other...they score and score and score.

i didnt see the beginning of the shootout so I didnt see that, but he certainly didnt learn anything after giving the yellow. The ref didnt have to send him off for doing it again; he could have just said that he's got to stop doing it and if he continues to come off his line, then send him off.

I noticed that too, but I didn't want to sound bitter. You're not supposed to be able to move off your line, but it's one of those rules refs don't seem to pay any attention to.

Yea, he was just so one-sided, he was letter to the law with making Steven Taylor take a pen, but not with a GK coming off the line.

TBH, I was more shocked that none of the players or Pearcey or England coaching staff quizzed the 4th official over it, I know I was screaming at the tv each time he did it :lol

I'd be furious if it the full England side, but I just kind of shrug at it and say "typical" for the U21s.

At least now teams can get on with signing U21 players. Well, hopefully, some might head off on holiday before getting their futures sorted, others will do it the other way round. Reo-Coker, Routledge, Richardson, Carson, Baines and Nugent are the ones rumoured to be moving.
