:lol To add insult to injury, why do they call wenger hitler? because he cant win in europe either.

I may have used that joke before, but its all that I could think of for the moment.

Just got back from the Emirates Cup thing. Clichy is even quicker in the flesh than I remember. I was pretty impressed by Bendtner, he was getting in some good positions and looked hungry to get a goal. Shame he wasted so many chances, though I think in time he'll be putting more away.

Hleb too was pretty good in the second half, showed some good feet and made some decent passes. Eboue really is a better winger than he is defensively, and too impressed.

Almunia's hair is awesome as well.
Oh and Valencia were all over Inter in the first game, no idea what happened to Inter but they could barely string any good passes together, save for the shot that hit the post. Quite the contrary for Valencia who were playing great one or two-touch passes and were more free-flowing than Arsenal on the day.

I hope Cristiano breaks his leg this season.
I hope your best player, henry, will break his leg....oh wait a minute, there's something about that statement that doesn't sound right, can you point it out?

I really shouldnt make fun of arsenal. There are so many gooners that post here. You might as well call this thread the official gooner hangout thread.

I could end up not watching any of them. My mums friend from england is visiting and she's got two daughters who are a year younger than me, so I'll have to keep them entertained. Now I wouldnt mind if they were hot, but neither of them are.

Yeah, but...there are two of them...

:lol That doesn't make things any better when neither of them are attractive! Their faces are not attractive and both of them are quite weighty to put it nicely.

Make them entertain you sumo style.
I'd rather not. It wouldnt be a very pretty site even with white t-shirts and water. Sounds like you're quite fond of meaty girls mama.

Why thank you

I just got annoyed when you were talking about you beating us in that game at the emirates. I was watching that in a restuarant with a gooner friend and a restaurant full of arsenal fans. Its a horrible feeling losing a game in the last minute when everyone else watching supports the other team :(

First goal achieved! 3 to go =).

It seems like Chiellini will sign for Man City soon, maybe monday, after Ranieri said he won't stop him leaving if he doesn't want to stay.

What's funny about it is that for once Man Utd really want City to get a good player, because apparently Juventus will bid for Heinze if they lose Chiellini, perhaps putting the Heinze to Liverpool problem to bed early.

It's all good man. Kind of how I felt when I watched the Arsenal - Tottenham match and Jenas scored in stoppage time to tie it up.

The Mail reckon Robben is going to move to Madrid for £20m soon, possibly to fund the Alves buy if Abramovich won't just stump up the cash, leaving Kalou, Cole, Malouda and Wright-Phillips playing for the wide positions.

In more amusing news, they also think Glenn Roeder is heading Wenger's list as a new sporting director. Well, he wanted an Englishman...

Glen Roeder: Ha-hallo, Arsenal are interesting in buying *whisper* Samuel Eto'o.
Barcelona: We would like Francesc Fabregas, Van Persie, Hleb, Rosicky, Da Silva, Denilson and Gilberto Silva in return.
Glen Roeder: *Curls in a ball* O .. ok. So we do get Eto'o?
Barcelona: As long as we get those players.
Glen Roeder: No deal, I want Ludovic Guily instead.
Barcelona: Sold.
Glen Roeder: Nice doing business with you... dumbass!

Later that day.
Glen Roeder: Arsene, pack their bags, we got Ludovic Guily!
Arsene Wenger: Vaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat?

Two years later.

Glen Roeder is manager of Arsenal, their star players are an aged Damien Duff and Nolberto Solano, currently sitting in 15th place.

Glen Roeder sits in his office, mulling whether or not he should purchase Marlon Harewood.

Someone knocks.

Glen Roeder: Who's there?
Hadareud: Amos.
Glen Roeder: Amos who?
Hadareud: A mosquito!
Glen Roeder: Oh come on in, A MOSQUITO!

Hadareud goes in.

Hadareud monologing.

Hadareud: Liverpool are currently first place with 25 points over Chelsea in 2nd place. Us and Man Utd are fighting for scraps. Man Utd even more so, at 18th place. They just lost to Wigan Athletic, 0-3. Arsenal shouldn't be down there with the likes of them. This is all your fault. Lakitu has been driving me mental, with his constant jokes and belittling. We also play a 9-1-1 formation, except with defenders like Titus Bramble even the likes of Scumthorpe can score 3 or 4 goals passed us.

Glen Roeder: Oh... what a shame? Where's A Mosquito?

Hadareud: Right here.

Hadareud throws a pie on Glen's face. Glen falls over and curls in a ball crying.

Hadareud: YOU GOT MERKED!!!!!!!

Rio Ferdinand (As a double glazer out of the window): *smiles and thumbs up*

Arsene Wenger comes in, dressed up as a maid

Arsene Wenger: Vat is going on?

He sees Glen.

Arsene Wenger: Ooooooi monsuier Glen, monsuier, vat has happened!! Zis is a disgrace!!

The end.

I'm going to the Alan Ball Testimonial at the new MK Dons stadium tonight, I think it's being shown live on Sky One too. So if you watch it, and see a lanky sod with a huge scar on his forehead, that's me :D

I'll take some pictures for this thread.

Lakitu said:
There's also a rumour that ManYoo will go after Leighton Baines (who I rate highly) if they sell Heinze.

I wonder if that's based on anything other than an educated guess, because I wondered the same thing a few days ago.

I can believe that Modric to Arsenal rumour...maybe not the price...but reading up on him he seems like just the sort of player Wenger would want.

"Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has refused to rule out a move for former Gunners striker Nicolas Anelka from Bolton. (Various)"

I think about 5 days ago Arsene said something like: "Absolutely not" lol.

As for the Diarra rumor, I haven't heard that before but that would be interesting.

Cesc has also stated he wants to be Arsenal's new captain

It sounds like your the offspring of harry potter and peter crouch.

That could happen. It would be a really good buy if its true. I dont think he'll get ahead of Evra, but he's a very good player and he can certainly push for a place in the team.

Carragher has also said that he thinks Chelsea, not Man U. are going to be the team to beat next season. I kind of agree with him.

Good, I'd rather Chelsea be the favourites and fail again :D

United have strengthened the team a lot and our youth prospects look very good (Of course they were playing against "random" asian teams but still...) If we don't get bad defenders luck like we did last season and struggled in the last chunk of the season I see no reason why we can't defend our title and maybe even get to the Final of the Champions League.

I honestly thought Man Utd. would beat AC Milan in the semifinals and go on to win it. I guess I really underestimated AC.

All our main defenders were injured. We had to play with O'seha, vidic, brown and Heinze. If we had our proper defence, I'm sure we could hav gone through to the finals, but they killed us that night.

Is anyone going to watch the Newcastle vs Juve game?

EDIT: Iraq just scored against saudi in the asian cup. It would be amazing if they won it.

And Luque scored a penalty against Juve. Milner clearly dived to get the penalty.

I dunno, I thought it was a penalty. I don't think the defender meant it, but when you're running at that speed all it takes is a small clip to the heels to bring you down.

Only a friendly though, so doesn't matter. Juve are the better side, Allardyce needs to buy more.

I mean, I realise Owen, Viduka, Ameobi, Duff, Barton, Emre and Butt are missing, but I can't believe he hasn't picked up a left back or a right back yet.

EDIT: Good finish by Carroll, meant to be one of the bigger players coming through the youth system.

That wasn't a penalty. At all.

Anyways, I kind of liked what I saw in the first half. I don't know what are we going to do next season without Nedved, at 35 he's still the warrior soul of our team. Also, we need to buy another world class defender stat.

Juve ftw.

Juve started much brighter, but Newcastle really came back into it after the penalty. Carroll looked impressive, don't quite understand how that's not a free kick when he was clattered by Buffon.

I'm susprised Allardyce has gone with a 4-4-2 at Newcastle, I'd have thought he'd stick with the 4-3-3 he used so effectively at Bolton. I mean, they largely have the players for it. They need a left back (maybe Baines or Shorey), a right back, I think they should try and get Diarra in central midfield and they're lacking in centre back cover.

Its rumoured that juve could buy heinze. That wouldnt be bad for Juve. He's not world class, but he would still be a good buy.

It would be good for United if that happened. We need to sell him to anyone but Liverpool.

Iraq won the asian cup. They beat saudi 1-0. Its unbelieveable when you consider what the country is going through. They had quite a tough tournament. They had to play australia, south korea and saudi, which are all tough teams. I'm proud of them.

I reckon Spurs will win the UEFA Cup this year. I mean, it's a cup, so you never know what will happen, but i think they should have won it last year too, they were the better team than Sevilla over the two legs and have only strengthened.

Mama Smurf said:
Hmmm, Dyer's on second half, wonder if we can take anything from that.

EDIT: switched to the Arsenal game now anyway.

How do they look? I don't even know who is playing.
