Yakubu scores. The young defender Mama was on abot hit Everton's crossbar, but messed up indefence for the goal.

quite ok, thanks for asking.

3 points off the top with all to play for.

Should I also mention that Champion League quarter final?

You could do but I'll just find another way to deflect attention away from villa fucking up to a team who haven't scored in 450 minutes or won away all season.

I think I would cry if it wasnt so bloody cold.

Cahill's coming off already, apparently he wasn't fit enough to return as I didn't see him get caught or anything. Fernandes on.

West Ham are giving a debut to some young centre back today. And with Yakubu and Anichebe up against them, along with Cahill returning from injury to run in from midfield, it'll be interesting to see how they cope.

I think the verdict is in. :lol Great goal by Yakabu though, I forget how fucking fast he is. Fantastic finish too.

This post was brought to you by the letter F.

Another terrible offside decision, Yakubu should have his second. I swear every other game someone scores or doesn't score because of this fucking rule. Develop some sort of super intelligent camera system if we must keep it.

Just a little reminder:

Schalke 04 - 50
Werder Bremen - 47
Stuttgart - 47

That was the 25th day of last season and in the end the table looked like this:

Stuttgart - 70
Schalke 04 - 68
Bremen - 66

It's not impossible for Bremen to catch up but very unlikely as I have to admit :D

Die Hoffnung stirbt zuletzt ;-p
Sind auch drei Punkte unteschied! Momentan hat Bayern aber 7 Punkte Vorsprung ;-p

Sears looks like a prospect. He's caused more trouble to Everton since coming on than they had all game. Looking him up he scored a hell of a lot of goals in the youth and reserves.

I always keep an eye out for potential England talent coming through. Of course, doing well at lower levels doesn't always translate to the top (Chopra for example), but he's looked good in his limited senior time so far, and West Ham do have precedent for bringing through young English players to an international level.

I'm particularly interested as he's a striker, and we're not exactly overflowing with quality there.

EDIT: Ashton scores with a header, that fucks up my fantasy points.

Yeah it's amazing how much different a young striker looks when he's spent a season scoring a goal a game for the reserves & youth team rather than sitting on the bench for the first team.

*rimshot*

Sears' future is really touch and go at the moment though because he's been pretty average in the youths before this season, still dont think he's even played for England U18s. He's just suddenly exploded, so it'll be interesting to see if he can keep it going.

Tomkins & Collinson are much better prospects imo.

I like sears too. He's hardly played any games in the EPL, but he scored on his debut and he's been playing well today. So far he looks promising.

And now he just hit the post.

Noble just hit an amazing shot just over the bar, probably killed someone in the crowd.

Sears hits the post, perhaps tried to be a bit too delicate.

This is probably the end of Everton's CL fight.

Bradley with another goal for Heerenveen. They're 1-3 down against Roda JC though.

PSV is 1-0 up against Groningen. It's almost halftime.

In 12 months who knows.
I hope so.

But let's not forget that another young striker already played 33 league games for one of the top clubs in Europe, started a cup final and started Champions League games, scoring in all competitions. 59 games in total btw.

I predict that the expectations in Beckham will be unrealistic and that he won't be able to fulfil them.
We all know that though. I just need him to look pretty and give the league some attention.

are there any plans to have the MLS go from August to May like the big European leagues?

I don't think this starting in March/April business is very nice.

I dont think so either but USA is a huge country and winters in Toronto, Boston, here, Chicago, Denver are all much harsher than European winters. Not to mention it's not as ingrained in society where people will go to MLS games in the harsh winter like they do for NFL games. Maybe a few years or decades in the future but certainly not now.

There's going to be an embarassing amount of attention to Keegan's first win isn't there?

Lest they not forget it was against the team 19th in the league and it was at home.

And this team hasn't won on the road all season.

that's a shame. Countries like Austria and also Germany where they have real winters (in Austria's case that's definitely on a level with the states) just have a winter break.

In Austria it's from early December to late February.

It's also about competition. There's NFL, NBA, NHL, College Football, College Basketball, and maybe something else in the winter. In the summer there's baseball and MLS.

Hey Mama did you know Blackburn are doing really well in the Fair Play League? Like, they were top 2 weeks ago.

yeah, that makes sense - especially in the case of NFL I suppose.

Still, it's a bit of a shame because for me the football schedule is somewhat ingrained in my brain. But I guess when you're not as used to it it doesn't really matter anyway.

Of course, doing well at lower levels doesn't always translate to the top (Chopra for example),

Chopra has played about 5 games upfront for us this season. 4 goals isn't really a bad return considering that. Played as a right winger due to Carlos' absence, which was ridiculous.

Eh, the soccer schedule for me is April through November now, and that's how it's gonna be until they change it. I don't really mind as NHL is the league I follow during the MLS off-season and vice versa.

With 2 wins in 20 games and a team who hasn't won away from home.

But then... they did lose to Derby, so lets put it into context here...

Oh Chopra's fine, he just hasn't fullfilled the potential he showed in the youth/reserves, where he scored a lot of goals.

I feel like it's Christmas Eve. Excited about tomorrow, but aware that I've been let down in the past, that my expectations can be too high. And just hoping my dad isn't in one of his moods.

...last bit didn't really fit.

As Soccernet put it: "Fulham Hand Keegan First Win"

Ugh, another loss by Fulham. They need to find a way to get results on the road....and fast. At least Bolton only drew and Birmingham lost. Bad news about Sunderland winning, though.

Bradley had two! I'm very curious to see where he'll end up this Summer.

First goal:

Second goal: :D

MLS in 1 week. Woohoo! I need to check some rosters and previews because I haven't been paying as much attention for the last two years.

If I see Vassell and Ireland in next week's line-up, there will be another meltdown. He's out of his mind, there is something wrong with everyone's mentality too.

Nice outfit on the French fan. :lol

The roster is dwindling for tomorrow's meaningless U23 match.
Steve Goff said:
On the under-23 team front, Freddy Adu, Sal Zizzo, Jonathan Spector and Charlie Davies have left Nashville to return to Europe and will not play in Sunday's meaningless final against Honduras. Don't be surprised if most, if not all of them, are named to the national team roster for Wednesday's friendly at Poland. That list will be unveiled Sunday or Monday morning.

I just read that Ferdinand may not be available for us tomorrow. Fuck this shit. If Brown plays in central defense, we can kiss the match goodbye. If Ferdinand can't play, we should just play Pique and hope for the best. At the very least, he may surprise us with a great performance, which is something we can't expect from Brown.

Did you just read it when looking back through the thread and seeing my post?

This is the point where h0pper turns up and says at least I'm a twat to Man Utd fans too or something.

Fergie did say in his press conference that he would be happy to play Pique in the middle with Vidic funnily enough, with Hargreaves may at right back.

I've tried to predict our formation but its impossible.

He could easily play Fletcher alongside Carrick and Anderson, but I can't see Scholes missing out. or maybe he will re-use the midfield we used at Anfield, but Liverpool's new system sounds like a job for Hargreaves! Argh!

Personally I would go 4-3-3.

Carrick - Hargreaves - Anderson

Ronaldo - Rooney - Giggs

stumbled across this and thought I would share.

The most sickening thing? Torres wins! Unbelieveable.
