Ridiculous that Clichy didn't make the Fraaawnch squad, but at least he and Sagna will be rested up for next season. Last I heard Sagna was still hurt and wasn't going to make it anyway.

Trezeguet can spend some more time with the missus this Summer. I think he'll get over it.

I'm glad Milan didnt make the CL. It makes up for the year that they were in it when they shouldnt have been.

I'm glad the English press kept saying Serie A was dead, it made the CL win a good story in the end.

:( they tend to play pretty football. What happens to the Oliviera loan deal?
He'll probably return a week or two before getting sold to another Spanish midteam like Mallorca or Racing.

Look at Zaragozas 11:

César;
Zapater, Ayala, Sergio, Juanfran;
S.Garcia, Celades, Gabi, Aimar;
Oliveira D.Milito.

o_O

Who wants Aimar?

Domenech is a fucking rat bastard. I hate him so much.

As stupid as the omissions of Trez/Sagna/Chlichy are it angers me much more to see which players he called up.

I'm glad that Ac Milan is in such shit because it makes me wonder at what kind of BS people will come with to not award Cristiano Ronaldo as the best player of the world.

Barcelona has been crap too. Should be fun.

Unfortunately France can put out a great side even with those dumbass omissions and Domenech is unlikely to be punished for it.

Luca Toni could challenge. He shouldn't, Ronaldo's outscored him from midfield in a stronger league and stronger European competition, one has taken his team to the CL final while the other went out in the UEFA Cup semi, but if Italy win Euro 2008...

Kaka was better than C.Ronaldo last season, Fifa/UEFA/whoever handles the award didn't do anything wrong.

Anyway, Messi is a better player than C.Ronaldo in my eyes. But C.Ronaldo deserves it this year.

Since Euro 2008 seeding is based solely on performance in the World Cup 2006 qualifiers, Domenech not starting Ribery until like the last WC06 qualifying is what gave France a low seed and created the Group of Death!

I don't know if anyone here follows the Bundesliga but something quite amazing happened today. Hoffenheim got promoted from the second Bundesliga.

They had a run straight from our third tier league into the Bundesliga thanks to some millionaire investor. They spent more money on 3 players alone (Obasi EUR 6 million, Carlos Eduardo EUR 8 million, Demba Ba EUR 4 million) than the rest of the second Bundesliga combined :lol

What's so funny about that is that Hoffenheim (being a district of some town named Sinsheim) only has a population of about 3700 people and no real fans.

They are like a miniature version of Chelsea.

:lol :lol

This reminds me of AlbinoLeffe in Serie B, they currently hold the third place and there is two matches remaining.

What so special about AlbinoLeffe is that it's a team merged from two villages (Albino and Leffe) and the two villages have together a population of 2000 persons.

EDIT: Who is this millionaire? He must have been bored and didn't know what to do with the money.

That's not true, it's based on the WC06 qualifiers and the Euro 2008 qualifiers. In addition, Greece, Switzerland and Austria were made top seeds immediately because Greece hold the trophy and the other 2 are hosts. That made a huge difference to the seedings.

It's UEFA's fault, it's an embarrassing system which ranked Germany, Portugal, Spain and France below the likes of Romania.

It's Dietmar Hopp. Founder of SAP.

Saw this on wiki:

Hopp is also notable as the chief financial backer of the German football club 1899 Hoffenheim. When Hopp, who had played in the club's youth setup, acquired control in 1990, Hoffenheim were playing in the seventh level of German football. Today, Hoffenheim are in the First Bundesliga. Hopp is also spending €40 million to build a new 30,000-seat stadium for the club.

:lol :lol Where is he going to get the fans from?

WTF?!?

I don't even think Hoffenheim has it's own train station. Some posters in the official Werder forum already expect them to play in the CL after this season. It's a bit scary to think that this Hopp guy can shell out so much money for the club.

He could easily get players like Wörns, Raphael Schäfer or Klasnic on a free transfer and somehow stay in the first division. I bet that they will spend more than Bayern on new players if they stay in the Bundesliga in the upcoming season.

It's a very bad time to reintroduce relegation play offs.

No he wasn't. He played better in some CL matches, that was all.

And messi isn't better than Ronaldo imo, he has better ball control but footballers are more than that.

Ronaldo is speed, strength, technique, stamina, free kicks, air game, finisher. It's a different thing to say Messi is the better player, and Messi has better ball control skills.

And Messi was second last year, how the hell did that happen lol?

I just love that for all that crap, the one who kept going this year was ronaldo, while the previous 1st and 2nd aren't even in the running this year. AWESOME, a true slap in the face of a lot of people.

Maybe because both of them was quite injuried and the teams that they play in didn't come up to their normal level.

And are serious about C.Ronaldo? He haves everything but Messi only have the ball control?
Btw, Kaka wasn't only good in a couple of matches in CL. Besides, to become the best player in world you have to play good in the big matches. Something C.Ronaldo never have showed. He barely touched the ball against us and yet you claim that he was the best player last season. What did Kaka do against Man U and did Ronaldo do against Milan?

Too slow:)

Bye bye Zaragoza. They lost 3-2. I think that they equalised and let in a goal in extratime.

Speculate! Where will Ayala, Aimar and Milito go?

With all the reports coming out of City, they are like the footballworld's Xbox division. Petrov now says he wants to stay and enjoy his time in Manchester, and I doubt he would say that if Thaksin actually fired the whole team.

I knew having a former authoritarian leader own the team would pay off in the long run. Look at the way he's laid the smackdown on the English free and open press. I bet he didn't even have to threaten Petrov's children to get him to say that
just his wife
!

United will be run into the ground by their profiteering owners. Liverpool, will they even have an owner soon? Chelsea vs. City for the next decade is going to be epic. Hopefully Usmanov doesn't gobble up Arsenal. We don't need anymore cutthroat owners that realize winning is not a business getting in the way.

Yeah that's awesome. I've been following Hoffenheim all season because of it. They can fit almost al of Sinsheim in the new stadium btw. :lol

Here's the dutch teams playing in Europe next year:

Champions League: PSV
CL Qualifying: FC Twente
UEFA Cup: Ajax, Feyenoord, Heerenveen, NEC
Intertoto: NAC

When was the last time that Ajax played in CL? Been years now, it's a real shame. The team they had with Ibra, Mido etc. could become something big.

Last time was with Ronald Koeman. :lol I guess it was 3 years ago.

Oh well, Van Basten is going to take over now. They've signed a new argentinian striker (Cvitanich) and they've been like to 3 dozen players, but sofar nothing big has happened yet. Except for the fact that their one decent defender (Heitinga) is leaving for Atletico Madrid.

Does trikot just mean shirt or is there something special, like a long sleeved version? We don't have the word.

Ayala have already played in Milan, so no comeback for him.

You just told me the other week that Milan will take back anyone, hence Ba.

Oh that's right:lol But we all saw how that went. Now when I think about it, Ba haven't played a minute this season. I wonder what is role is/was.
