I went to the university there many moons ago.
I didn't stay very long. Maybe it was due to some ***** firing a firework and it exploding outside my window on the 13th floor of a tower block.

Good rule of thumb kids: Never go to a university where the first thing they hand you is a leaflet describing "safe places you can walk without getting stabbed."

That said I'm sure it's a wonderful place for it's inhabitants and all the best to them.

You live really quite close to me, that makes me uncomfortable.

I went to school in Stockport, you can probably guess which one.
nah, I was just kidding. I live near Reading.

I drove through Stockport once though!

Shame about the season ticket - what's the waiting list like? Would you even be able to buy one if you could afford it?

The Nasri deal should be announced tomorrow afternoon according to L'Equipe

yes, it should. I hope it is finalized tomorrow so we can spend 10 pages on it :D

You totally 'had' me fooled.

I wouldn't know about the length of the waiting list. I'm planning on moving away soon anyway.

Tomorrow will be one hell of a day for watching.

I plan on viewing parts of:

Manchester U. ? - ? Chelsea
Toronto FC ? - ? DC United
San Luis ? - ? Cruz Azul
Atlas ? - ? Boca Juniors
Fluminense ? - ? Sao Paulo

I really wish I could get a season ticket :(

I've been to a few games this season by going to the games that my friend has been unable to go to.

OT is just so oversubscribed it's impossible to get a season ticket. If I had the chance I would get one in a heartbeat regardless of the price.

Yeah Macc town is my local team, c'mon the silk men. Everyone in my primary school supported Utd though, and at that time I didn't really have a chance.
Macc are my lower div team too. (Uncle and aunt used to live there so I've spent time in the area.)

man euro 2008 is so fantastic

definitely the best football gameplay of all time.

benzema and henry are shittin all over fools talking that bullshit. i've created a young zidane and he's taking midfield apart.

it's worth buying now, don't feel the need to wait for fifa 09.

So its really good eh? The demo was a bit underwhelming... I think I've gotten too used to the pace of Pes2008

Wat. This deal was something of a non-event. Gray is useful, but I don't know if he'll help us score. Kirovski has always been a bit useless.

Quakes obtain Gray, Kirovski for Burpo
By Jeff Carlisle · May 20, 2008

The San Jose Earthquakes are set to announce on Wednesday that they have obtained defender/midfielder Kelly Gray and midfielder/forward Jovan Kirovski from the Colorado Rapids in exchange for goalkeeper Preston Burpo, a source with knowledge of the deal has told CLS.

Gray returns to the city where he spent the last half of the 2005 season, and can play anywhere in defense as well as in the center of midfield. The Leigh High School graduate will also be reunited with manager Frank Yallop, who while coaching Los Angeles last season acquired Gray in a midseason trade with Houston.

Gray was originally drafted by Chicago in 2002, and spent parts of four seasons with the Fire before moving to San Jose. Following the franchise’s relocation to Houston, Gray spent all of 2006 and part of 2007 with the Dynamo, before being traded to Los Angeles. The Galaxy waived Gray in preseason this year, and he was subsequently claimed by Colorado, appearing in two matches for the Rapids. Gray has scored seven goals in 146 league and playoff appearances.

Kirovski has spent time as both a withdrawn striker and an attacking midfielder during his time in MLS. With Gavin Glinton and Peguero Jean Philippe out injured, and Kei Kamara set to miss time because of international commitments, Kirovski should bolster the Quakes’ attack.

Kirovski spent the bulk of his early career in Europe, playing for the likes of Borussia Dortmund and Sporting Lisbon, before returning to the U.S. in 2004 to play for Los Angeles. Kirovski was traded in 2005 to Colorado where he has scored 13 goals in 67 keague and playoff appearances. A right groin injury, the acquisition of midfielder Christian Gomez, and the emergence of forward Omar Cummings have kept Kirovski on the shelf for all of 2008.

While Kamara’s expected absence with Sierra Leone helped trigger the move, international commitments also played a part in Burpo heading to Colorado. Rapids’ goalkeeper Bouna Coundoul is set to join the Senegalese national team following this weekend’s slate of games, and with the inexperienced Justin Hughes as the backup, Burpo became a very desirable commodity for Colorado.

Burpo returns to Colorado after a seven-year absence. He has also spent time with Kansas City, and played two years with Chivas USA before being claimed by the Quakes in last year’s expansion draft.

We all know how I feel about POS. If you didn't like the demo you wont like the game, the game just features creating players and longer than three minutes and beating a team other than Germany.

I kinda liked the control of the game (pace and smoothness that fifa 08 lacked) I just couldn't get a proper feel for the game... for example it took like four or five days before I realized I hated Fifa 08.

Oh man it's so amazing. Through passes work. Plays exactly like Arsenal would. Absolutely beautiful football.

Billy Madison is on! :lol the penguin

Apparantly Catherine Higl or whatever hated that movie... I think its great, my favorite part is when she goes and meets his friends or whatever and that dude comes out of the shower talking about cutting his pubes... look at the fat dudes expression as he announces it.

There's something very odd about this.

Everyone at work -- all people who don't give a shit about sports, period -- are all OMG OMG CHAMPIONS LEAGUE FINAL OMGGGGG.

The Official Football Megathread, meanwhile, is talking about comedies.

tommorow might just be one of the best or worst days of my life.

First:
Final
Chelsea vs. Man U.. and Im already nervous, go blues

Second:
Quarter Final Libertadores
Atlas vs.Boca Juniors: I hate Boca with a passion and my Mexican pride is happy to see a small team like Atlas go so far.

Third:
Semi Final- Mexican League
Cruz Azul vs. San Luis: Cruz Azul was and is the team that I will always love. It was passed down by my father and its been ten years since weve won anything so tommorow Im hoping for a great game.

Extra:
Western Conference Finals
Lakers vs. Spurs: Ive been a Lakers fan since I was a kid, and a Spurs hater for about the same time.

Fack, too much tension in one day. I need some major anti anxiety pills tommorow.
